  • Man, apart from the incredible technique and feeling, I am really amazed with this warm sound! I own a Spoiler and am trying hard to take this sound out of it. Could you help me saying how do you set up the EQ to sound like that? Is that a Distillate? Thank you very much and congrats!

  • Dude, could ya slow it down??

  • so sing over the top!!!

  • Chiel, i presume you are a dutchman, if not. This is really serious bass playing. An excellent groove with the right sound and the right emotion. What sort of alembic do you use ?

  • Dit is echt serieus baswerk. Techniek , timing, feeling, mooi geluid. Alles klopt. Meesterlijk gedaan. Welk type alembic wordt hier gebruikt ?

  • Your chops are outstanding

  • Very good!

  • LOVELY tone! and so tight and well played!

  • @mmsr2 Thank you so much.

  • I have never heard such a beautiful tone from an alembic, they are always so tinny and bright, this one has SO MUCH beautiful punchy sexuality

  • @WoWintosh Thank you for your kind words.

  • For anybody out there - especially in the UK - Alembic is the way to go. I have 4 basses now and my Alembic is a Rolls Royce compared to the rest

  • only one word - SUPERB

it took me ages to learn that riff

  • sexy song

  • simply AMAZING! =O]

  • Hi chiel! Check ouy my rough version of this track - and be kind :) Its a work in progress!! oh and your playing is so damn good!!

  • If you want this sound just purchase alembic.

Not a Passive bass with more than two pedal to get this !!

  • Is That an Aria?

  • @Timepeice45

  • Nice Bass! Aria?

  • best sound i ever heard coming from an alembic..

I have played Alembics for 20 years and never get THAT sound....awesome...what strings do you use?

  • Thank you so much.....

I use DR strings. (High Beams MR-45).

    Best regards,

    Chiel

  • @dwprsk

Much of the sound of any bass is in the style of playing. It's in your fingers so to speak. :-)

  • @Abschleppen

good point...but each instrument also have its own typical sound, coming from combination of woods and electronics..we cant make an Alembic to sound like a Fodera or vice versa..

  • @dwprsk i'ts alot in his technique! Look how close to the bridge he plays, hand his muting is excellent.

  • Yeah, me too! Completely overwhelmed

  • superb mate, but tidy your desk ;)

  • Hi Friend,

    Thanks....ha ha.

And I Will clean up my desk :-)

  • No problem - any tipe to getting to be as good you with fingerstyle? I'm doing ok with the slap, but not in your league when it comes to fingerstyle!

  • Hey man will you stop the music and show us your real playing, because it look like your not playing LOL ! just joking bro. great video. one of the best I seen yet for that style of playing. bass players rule peace !!

    Chiel

  • How the bleedin' hell did you work that out?

Some of us can only dream of basses like that...

    For anyone who's interested:

the chords for this bass break are E9, C9, D9 and A9 over and over. I think...

  • Blimey !

    Tight stuff chap!

  • Thanks.... Well, I stopped drinking coffee...

  • Hi there nice sound, what fx are you using ?? Cheers Sean

  • Hi Sean,

Thank You. Well, I actually don't use any fx in this vid. I just put the volume of the element at the back higher for a sharper sound. The soundbank on the floor is an Boss GT-6B.

    Cheers Chiel
