  • i just love how people keep walking like a normal day between the time the tower falls and hit the ship.

  • THAT IS SOO COOL

  • stupid music

  • pause at 1:24

  • Again, thats great work.

  • Jews

  • Did

  • 9/11

  • Good choice of music. Radio head ~ Everything in it's right place ftw?

  • I really love your videos - I am starting portsmouth university this year, if it helps me become half as good as this I will be happy!

  • But is is to fast falling, he have an steel construction. But nice done!

  • mush that was quality!

  • OK your video is pretty cool, well done but i love you the most because you put radiohead as the background music of this video :P Kudos to you

  • 5*

    thats amazing!

  • that s amazing...

  • very nice job,

if some criticism, is that the tower falls too fast imho, not giving a good idea of its massive scale.

also it seems slightly too bright. or something with the lighting atleast.

also at 1.26 the tower is slightly too shapr (in focus)

nevertheless these are small details great job.

  • What about the Spinnaker, can you see that too?

  • Wow! Very Good!

  • Wow absolutly amazing can you give me details of modelling the way you did!

  • u have to go there. as you can see, there is 3 viewing platforms. on the lowest (1st) one, there is a partly glass floor. it's so scary! Especially if you have a fear of heights!

  • you are very good at this man, you can like go work for huge gaming companies that have alot to do with buildings collapsing

  • very well exicuted

  • what would happen if the thing really ddi Go down

  • nicely made, and nice song choice ;)

  • agreed , nice one on the song choice ;) reading 09!. ;)

really inspiring video, i want to go to Portsmouth uni, and do something like this, still in year 12 at the mo!

    x

  • Please, be gentle and answer this for me. What percentage of math took you to make this??? I'd really like to know.

  • wow your good a grapichs

  • tim made this didnt he? legend. he's done a lot since sixth form!

  • nice one. well done

  • wasent even that gd no offence

  • you did a great job. The song matches too :P a little touch of radiohead and sigur ros? :)

  • I Am Trying To Get A Degree In PC Animation Help Me To Pass

  • lol awesome you definetley will get that degree. i noticed tho, that when the boat got hit, the windmill was still going lol. great job

  • Its not a windmill, its a radar. BTW nice anitmation there!

  • I thought at first it had really collapsed. Great job.

  • Really good work top! good choice of music too.

i belived it on the origanal up until i saw the struture stay relativly intact once it had fallen. but anyway who cares top job!

  • you do something... then you have to explain everything? ever heard 'less is more'?

  • can anyone please tell me about prepairing the fracture that causes collapse on the body.

which method can we use for modelling this in 3ds max.

    thanks...

  • i thought this was real the first time i saw it. im a film student in new york. i dont suppose you could make a church explode for me could you? lol.

  • first time i saw this i was in school and sum kid was showing his friend and at a distance i thought it was real i was like omg!

  • wow this is SOOOOO COOL

Lol you said on the vid to go cos it is a great view, after seeing this, I would be too scared to go on lmao

  • Dude!

    U Definately deserve a degree 4 this.

    Nice work!!!

  • wow, what a gifted person. well done.

  • the physics arent perfect, but WOW!

I thought it was real at first.

    Very good job.

  • cool

    gr8 vid

  • Nice...

  • its Radiohead, cant remember the song title atm

  • Radiohead - Everything In Its Right Place ... btw thanks for saying its Radiohead, you helped me with finding this excellent music...

  • The intro is Sigur Ros, then yep mixed into Radiohead.

  • what software did you use to make this

  • IT SAYS AT END!!!

  • thanks for telling me something i found out FIVE MONTHS AGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • well dont write stupid questions then!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1.i wrote that before i finished watching

2.why would you reply to a stupid question then

3.dont comment back because its really not that important

  • i can comment what i wanna comment too

  • whatever i dont care im not commenting back

  • same lol it dont matter

  • LOL

  • Dave, my man, that was brilliant, you have a bright future ahead

  • love it

  • davewortley can i add you as friend

  • Yeah great effects and all. but i dont understand why he would want to make a tower collapsing?

  • Because it's original?

  • Nice .. but not the kind of thing you want to be happening in real life .. check out my vids .. they are not as good but dere funny ! NICE WORK MAN

  • damn that was amazing :)

  • ...The acceleration of the whole tower and the parts that fall off when it cracks seems a bit too high. Finally the whole thing is too "clean": More dust and dirtier inner surfaces of the parts would make the whole thing even better. But: Great work, anyway!

  • Try to get a feeling for the acceleration: When the tower first drops a bit and then stops, there must be more damage in the upper structures as they try to keep falling. But the tower's integrity is too high when it hits the ship. Water is strong. The tower should be cracking when much of its energy is absorbed by the water underneath the ship.

    ...

  • Very nice effort. Good original idea.

  • its cool as hell, i work at wightlink, so its pretty bloody scarey!! i love the way uve even got the water to ripple/wave as well. good bloody job, hope u got good reviews from the uni!

  • The people in the footage.. but it would have been good to comp in some bluescreen people reacting to the tower instead of just continuing to go about their business as in the original video.

    Finally... where's the explosion?

  • The people in the footage are actually masked out by the newsfeed banner in the final comp.

  • Nice, and good to see some fx work coming out of portsmouth uni - back in 2003 I was the only one trying such things.

The boat needs more uv maps - more reflection etc - at the moment it looks like u used a diffuse map only.

The tower would slip when it breaks, instead it balances perfectly on the left leg.. did u use a physics simulator? Curious if it worked it out to fall like that.

  • I was the only one to attempt something as ambitious as this! Think my main problem in regards to maps, was render times and Mental Ray saving out multiple channels on the same render. Definetly needed some reflection, and what I called a 'wet map', did attempt these but simply ran out of time :(

  • cool
