  • Are you still baking bread? Have you had better results? Nothing like learning to make bread and have it come out wonderful. I can share a recipe for pillowy soft bread if you would like. Just let me know. Btw it takes a good kneading of 8-10 min to come out with a good dough. You have to fold it over on itself after using the heels of your hands to push it away from you. Then fold over and keep doing for the mins I mentioned. Yeast loves a pinch of sugar to eat and create gas.

  • @KissHope Hi, not made bread for a while, but I should really get back into it. Thanks for your comment.

  • @shinygoldcar I have been making bread for about a year and boy do my loaves look, taste, and feel different than they did when I began. Now I am proud to say my bread comes out soft, tender and full of flavor. Another element to great homemade bread is something called vital wheat gluten, it's inexpensive and gives a great softness as well as helps with spoilage should the bread last that long. Let me know if you give it a go and I will send you an almost failproof recipe. Happy baking.

  • Here's a tip you might find useful...

Once you tip out your baked loaf, let it cool for about half hour or till it's almost completely cool before you slice through it. Slicing it when still hot/warm will result in gummy bread. Also, if you cool the bread with a tea towel loosely draped over the bread, it will help to soften the crust a little. Hope this helps. Or maybe you already know these by now.

  • @77eelin that's great. Thanks very much!

  • Next time too add a teaspoon of sugar,it gives the yeast something to feed on.Just about every recipe I've seen for bread always calls for it.Look in allrecipes for bread recipes, they've got hundreds to try in there. Also when your kneading the dough knead it for about 10 to 15 minutes or until the dough is no longer sticky.Being an old bachelor I practically live on bread.

  • I know my comment is probably a bit late but one thing you should have done was to knead the dough with the heels of your hands.I've been making bread by hand for the last few years and that's the way that works best for me.I think that's why your bread was a little doughy too.Keep making your bread by hand and with practice you'll get it down good.

  • @whatayawant no not too late to teach me something new! I didn't know that, so thanks very much for telling me. I did find it very tiring on the thumbs. Not made any for a couple of months but I want to get back into it. Freshly baked bread, even to the simplest recipe, is a million times better and more appetising than supermarket bread.

  • @whatayawant thanks for your tip on kneading. Not made bread for a while now. I think I should get back into it.

  • How do you convert your money from lbs to American dollars?

  • @queenbunny76 just looking it up on google now... £1=$1.54. Or do you mean kg to pounds and litres to fl. ozs? 1kg=2.20 pounds, so 750g=1.65 pounds (1 pound 10 ounces), 25g=0.88oz. 1 litre=33.81 american fluid ounces, so 450ml=15.2 american fl oz. Hope that helps

  • what happened with the dough left in the fridge!?

  • @jonnyorefc I baked it the next day. It came out just as well. I can't remember as it was a while ago now, but I think it cut better!

  • thanks a lot

for the video, now I feel brave enough to try :)

  • thanks for watching! I'm glad I've inspired you to try :) Let me know how you get on!
