  • can you possibly get some metal tones outta this?

  • The DC-5 is so nice

  • what you think, $399 for one is a steal or just an alright deal?

  • @mothulicka Excellent deal. They mostly run in the 600-700 range. Great amp.

  • I waited to 1:38 to see the pinky move, but it didn't hit a string. haha. good playing with 3 fingers.

  • Lester Paul is better

  • my Greg Bennett Interceptor has those pickups

  • nice very nice!!!

  • Loosen that pinky it looks like its glued in place, get it in on the action. Believe me it makes a world of difference in your ability to play. You probably already know this though so all you need to do now is get it done.

  • Wow nice Job!!!

  • how much was it

  • AMAZING

  • what a fantastic sound!

  • That color would be "Candy Apple Red"...This is the first and last guitar that I ever bought Brand New in Clearwater FL at the Thoroughbred Music in the old Kapok Tree Restaurant space. 1993.

  • What a lovely color on that Les Paul what is it called?

  • Update: So on this whole....pinky finger....commentary here. I recently pinched a nerve in my neck and my index finger on my left (fret) hand is stiff and numb...still workable...but not as pleasant to use and actually painful after a couple of songs. I find myself resorting more and more to the other fingers...including....yes. The PINKY!!!

  • rip les :(

  • Good job. Post at rifflicksdotcom and win gear

  • I don't use my pinky either...it was broken when i learned to play, and i never used it after it healed

  • Lester Polsfuss (aka Les Paul) died today of pneumonia.

  • yes he diidd

  • hey, that sounds great! good sound.

even though it looks kind of "wrong" not using your pinky, you actually play very well!

  • Hey,It's Kiney-Kun.COOL!!!!!!5/5

  • USE YOUR FUCKIN PINKY

  • I did...once.

  • Lol

  • lol.. you have absolutely no room to talk.

and besides, what the fuck do you care how he plays?

to each his own kid. learn that.

  • Jimmy Page didn't pretty well without, just sayin...

  • hey. w/e sounds good yah?

  • @mrpretzels2 Django Reinhardt didn't need to use his pinky :).

  • @SwallowedByTheTide Thats because he couldn't. If he could, he would.

  • @Grimmjow567 Hence the joke....

  • @SwallowedByTheTide What a stupid joke.

  • @Grimmjow567 You're the one that didn't get it...

  • @SwallowedByTheTide There is nothing to get, there is no joke.

  • @Grimmjow567 There is no spoon

  • @SwallowedByTheTide There is no

  • Great! You certainly know your blues scales!

That's what that was made of right?

  • Pretty much so.

  • COOL

  • I like them a lot. Very warm and crunchy. Can be cleaned up nicely at lower volume.

  • Hey great sounds. How is the output on those? I'm planning to put a 9.5k humbucker in the bridge and a P-92 in the neck. I need to know if they sound good under high saturation, since i occasionally play harder rock/metal. For an idea, check out the song "Shut Me Out" by Kutless. If you could give me an idea, that would be great. However, my main style of music is more similar to U2/Coldplay.

  • Yes 8k and 9k set....10 size string.

  • what is the thickness of the strings

  • are thse the 8k&9k set?

  • thats a sweet color i don't think i've ever seen a solid red les paul damn dude

  • yeah no kidding

  • there was one at my local guitar shop...10 minutes before i got in though a guy bought it for 700 quid...think i missed out. still got a custom tho

  • nice squealies lol

  • how long have you been playing guitar???

  • Forever and a day!

  • The Les Paul Will Live For EVER!~!~!~!~!~!

  • one of my favorite colors for a les paul very close behind a nice faded burst

  • that a gibson or an epi?

  • Gibson all the way.

  • love it

  • Thanks a bunch!

  • OH!!! I love that red color dude!! It's so beautiful :) Nice work by the way mate...

  • that is awsome

  • i learbned about pinch harmonics and came back. AWSOME harmonics

  • ay laik

  • i dig your sound, man!!

  • I think it is Candy Apple Red....

  • satin red wooooooH!

  • nice paul.

  • lol nice pinky finger.

fuck my brains out through my ear please.

  • Nice vid man, thanks for posting.

  • Thanks fellas....appreciate it.

  • taht a gibson?

  • Yes....taht is.

  • cool, I have one too, but not an epi or a gibson, just a cheap copy, but great sound though

  • My first good guitar was copy...it was sweet. Wish I still had that and every other one I ever owned....

  • I love this guitar, great solo

  • i liked it

  • i think he meant the pickups. These pickups are pretty low output to produce a good metal tone. Look for something with higher output. EMG's are pretty much the gold standard for metal. These could most definately get you some very good rock tones though.

  • Agreed. I just had a strat built with an 'Invader' in the bridge....that to me is metal.

  • dude if slash plays it its for all toyoubecritic1 so its a good guitar get one you will shred your ass off man les pauls are kick ass so get one c u l8r.....

  • Are those good for metal and rock???

  • muy buen sonido, alto solo el tuyo!

  • good sound great guitar

  • might as well cut your pinky off lol its only creating drag

  • Funny you should say that....when I was 10 I tried to heave a jagged rock the size of a water melon into the water and actually did just that. My MD was walking nearby and shuttled me over to his office where he sewed it back on....still have a sweet scar there.

  • left hand? is that why u dont use it to fret? ouch!

  • People are true assholes on you tube and creative critism is one thing but totally diissin some I think in uncalled for. Nice response though unfortunate for though. Sorry about your pinky. If any one wold like to see my wideo its called "solo output" I thnk the 90's les pauls sound the best. Mine a rare one its....wait youll have to see my video to find out

  • crap..is it the fretting pinky? can u move it normally? does this clarify that u can put a lost limb back and still it will function?? ur a legend loose a finger and play guitar. although im a guy (straight) i love u.

  • I use it for barre chords sometimes...trying to work more with it for noting...thanks! man!

  • wouldnt want to mess with you on guitar hero youd cream me

  • beautiful

  • o cara broca aê

  • Dude, please give us more hot solos like that. This was a treat. Keep up the awesome work.

  • Wow -- thanks. OK...I will --

  • hey ill have to get a camera to post my vintage '75 hard rock aspen strat solo xD

we'll have to see who's better!

    (probably you)

  • Rock that bad boy....and...there is no better only different.

  • yapo

  • nice solo:D

  • molto bello...

  • i caught a little bit of jimmy page in there... way cool

  • good

  • sweet

  • You have real talent! You can actually solo... unlike most people who think playing a scale over and over again is good... but this is real, raw, guitar.

  • Thanks..it was really loud. I will never forget the day I recorded it....Amp was probably only on 5 but these are so ballsy the crank really loud. I had it opened completely up in Tampa Florida in 1992 for an audition for a band called Hourglass Garden. I was straight in with a really amazing 1972 Strat. Pure bliss. This is nothing really just a little run...a loosening up of the fingers if you will. I will record something new soon enough -- thanks !

  • I'm not a guitarist and even i can tell that was good BRAVO!!!!

  • you rock!

  • thanks!

  • nice

  • great tone!

  • It is easy to get tones from the DC series mesa boogie...master volume at 3 other tones adjusted to taste. Simple.

  • nice sound :O How was your Mesa set up? (I'm interested in getting one and I'm after some facts)

  • Great sound Im contemplating Fralins for my Les Paul, Which Model did you install in your Les Paul? Im debating between the PAFs or Greg Martins (Physchobilly) any suggestions?

  • I got the Humbucker 8k and 9k model. really like them.

  • les pauls are sexy

  • you should try move more on the positions and add more licks to your solos. Im sure youll hear the change immediatly

  • much beather instrument then fender!

    Gibson IS THE BEST!!!!!

  • love it! long live Les........

  • Yeah man......!

  • I like your tone dude - what amp and settings do you use?

I must say I agree with whoever it was who said down there though, you should use your pinky more in your guitar playing, it seems almost non-existent.

  • if you want buy most cheap les paul in the world, you buy stagg brand.the sound quality same like gibson..

  • Nice sound and solo!

  • what kinda guitar dude??? nice playing though.

  • gibson les paul or epiphone les paul

  • Gibson....1992 Standard Model.

  • how can you not know what kind of guitar that is?

  • what guitar is that??? les paul duh but.... what else.

    nice by the way.

  • i dotn get where its so bad if you dont use your pinkey... or if you play with your fingers sticking out like thorns or balled up near the fret board. just play...

  • very nice played

  • He had fuck-ups here and there, but other than that it was nice and clean.

  • way to avoid using yor pinky. Very nice guitar anyhow.

  • nice guitar man

  • What kind of strings do you use ?

  • Boomer 10's or DR 10's.

  • Is a Mesa Boogie DC-5 good to play hardrock-metal?

  • I think so...you can get that scooped sound with the EQ....really fat bottom...crunchy. DC-5 works pretty well for that....Dual Recto or Mark 4 might be better though.....

  • thnx! I like ure sound btw!

  • are humbucker pick ups good?

  • I like them. They are pretty warm and harmonic. The tone here is mesa boogie....they seems to like Marshalls too.

  • Great tone! You are a good Guitar player.

  • Thats an awkward solo

  • Thanks.

  • i totally agree

  • "The only success worth one's powder was success in the line of one's idiosyncrasy . what was talent but the art of being completely whatever one happened to be?" Henry James quote

  • cool solo.

  • Hey Guys, im thinking about buying a Les Paul *Classic Copper* wich is tuned with new hardware and Lindy Fralin pick ups. What do you think about it?

  • I tried 3 sets of pickups in this...the std alnicos...the 57 classics...and the fralins...I like the Fralin pickups best of all. They break up beautifully and still maintain a warmth at lower volumes. Copper top's are gorgeous. Hard to beat it.

  • how much did that thing cost?

  • I paid $1250 for it new in 1993.

  • Sweet guitar, sweet tone...

  • hi,just wondering how you set your amp(eq,gain, etc)i have the same one.

  • Gain at 8/9...Master at 6/7...then Output at 3/4. Everything else mid settings....some reverb and prescence....with a v-shaped EQ.

  • drool..

    dream guitar =D

  • hey man i'm from mexico i have a one les paul custom.. check my videos in my space of youtube :)
