Of course there were problems then, but somehow people were a lot more connected, in a more tangible way. Today's technology has enabled us to stay in touch with each other on a moment by moment basis, but we are incresingly isolated from one another, unlike back when you had to pick up a rotary dial phone, or walk to a neighbor's house. The Wonder Years reflected those times perfectly!
