WHo is the "they", you are expecting to show up dude? Get your ass in gear and take care of your community. Bush sent you 110 Billion, get movin or just leave that shithole. 19 feet below sea level, what the hell did you think was going to happen?
That more people have not viewed this video is very telling.
It is a shame that innocent people who have lived in New Orleans for generations, the "well to do", like my friends who suffered a flooded home in Lakeview leaving N.O late Sunday, (becasue they had no idea what was about to occur) to those who did not have any ride out. Our govt. should have help prevent such a tradegy and responded more effectively. This is America and our people were in harms way!
I don't think anyone in an expensive insurance area that is in low land and near flooding waters should rebuild. What I think they should do with all the money that was donated is place these people in a higher land area, and help get their lives together. What happened to all the money donated? I think they should not be able to build there again but yes I think there should be help to get them out and place them on higher ground. People use your heads.
why should the goverment or the President even get involved they were told to leave given transportation to leave and they chose to stay most of the people there are on welfare and feel the goverment owes them and then look at the black on black violence and the looting in the aftermath they should learn to depend on themselves and they would fare much better
these people should not be so eager to lean on the goverment the majority there are on welfare and act like the goverment owes them something get a job and become more dependent on self is the answer
My new husband and I came back home to the coast on March 25th of 2007. We still don't have a place to live. The volunteer services are really not able to help much now. We get no answers why there is no affordable housing here still.
I email the government officials and local and get NOTHING from them.
Perhaps you and your new husband should get off your lazy black asses & go to work; ever think of that? The world doesn't owe you a living, and it sure doesn't owe you a house. Get in the game, freeloaders!
No one forgot the millions & millions of dollars donated by citizens who do care. Now get up and pick up the trash, start rebuilding - don't just sit around waiting for someone to do it for you! The kids will love to see you and your new "can do" attitude. Oh, get a new Mayor & governor while you're at it, they proved their worth - you can do better!
I so agree with you. I saw what happened after Katrina and for the first time i was ashamed to be living in the US. The way they behaved , I had to turn the tv off serveral times in pure disgust. Get off your asses stop whining about it and go to work , yes work !My moms house burned down we lost everything and guess what my dad did people . HE WENT TO WORK!
In the UK Oxfam,(the Oxfam fund for famine relief),do almost all their work in the developing world. I applaud this video but the US federal government should be ashamed that it had to be made.
Thanks for an outstanding reminer of an outstanding debt to the people of the Gulf Coast. Use this video as another reminder to register to vote, and to make sure that coverage of Kat/Rita doesn't get back-burnered by government or media. We need these stories to be told until the people know that they have promising beginnings. Stay tuned.

This is a disgrace. President Bush should hang his head in shame along with Mr. fat-money Cheney.
