  • I can't get over how stereo typically British this guy is.

  • [OPTIMA]

  • Hey when are you guys doing the new kia optima

  • I heard it got 88 mpg

  • @wotan237 yes a tv show tried to see if they were right but they got 43

  • @wotan237 Yeah but not the partol version

  • that was hilorious when he talked about the interior quality, he basically said ooooh, soft and shiny :)

  • why are gay men here saying hes hot? i mean women wouldnt be here would they?

  • @gadgetguy4000

Women are here because it's a Kia :P

wait what am I doing here.. It's a fucking Kia Rio

  • @Tinydevil12 they are amazing i would love one~!!!

  • He says the best engine is the 1.1 diesel. However, it may be the most economical, but from what I've seen the little diesel sounds agricultural and is gutless and needs to be thrashed constantly, which kills its economy. I wish he test drove the 1.1 diesel.

  • Would anyone agree, from the sides it looks a bit like a FIAT Bravo?

  • Great reviews, thorough. Plus and negative, not just a fluff about all positive. The spokesman is entertaining, and funny.

  • "Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand..."

  • Don't forget the year in the title :P

  • I would think a flat fold rear seat would be the standard requirement for every car designers especially for 2012. Also puzzling is the high lift height in the rear boot / trunk.

  • I was sitting here thinking how good this reviewer is.

Just the facts presented incredibly impartially.

  • singapore only 5 years only for kia models. so good to get 7 years for eu, 10 years for us...

  • They dont sell Kia Rio here in Rio! It´s a shame! Nice car and nice review!

  • for me Mat is second not annoying cars reviwer after topgear team.

  • That small rear window is actually a selling point - it gives the driver more privacy. I drive on (parabolic) side mirrors for most of the rear visibility, anyhow.

  • So if the USA started using diesel for vehicles..their cars would get over 50 mpg just by using diesel?

  • @BanzaiSushi Yessir diesel is very efficient. Just go look at the Tdi's offered by Volkswagon and Audi.

  • WHo thinks the back is way too bland when compared to the front

  • Oh, the room for the big bag of crisps has sold me. Always have problems storing those in my car.

  • I am not sure why you are impressed with 88MPG from a 1.1 diesel. I have a focus diesel with a 1.6 that does 50-55MPG in town and 72MPG at a constant 70MPH. Smaller engine need to be revved harder so use a lot of fuel. If you think back to 1982 the Daihatsu Charade was advertised with a slogan "100MPG 100MPH" and it did both, that was a small petrol engine and the car didn't weigh much. Really some technology went backwards in some areas such as economy. Korean cars have better warranties...

  • @urbex2007 no way you can get that out of a focus diesel

  • if i have many moneys, i will choose this car than toyota yaris

  • Who developed the 1.1 diesel?

  • i cannot focus on the car -.- he is so hot.

  • @miloootic It has the perfect design, wonderful interior and i can resist to the 1.1 diesel engine.

  • what Equiment package is this ?

  • Oh my god, I can't understand what he talking about

    his accent... Y_Y

  • Is the steering wheel that numb as in the Corsa? because in the Corsa it is really terrible.

  • Scratching & Ripping .

    F*** Spell Check.

  • Good review. Kia design is indeed on fire just

Now. Massive improvement on say 5 or even 10 years back. I think you might find lots of cars in the class

Have a lip, and seats that don't go flat.

The Fiesta has seats that don't flat, also they have a hinge bracket that sticks up sketching and roping whatever slides over it. All Power to Kia. Excellent Car. 7 Year Warranty. Keen Price.

  • 88mpg...we dont have the diesel version in the US!

  • Thanks for the KIA RIO REVIEW.

  • yo matt do u recomend buying this car?

  • Massive lip? Really? OMG dealbreaker LOL!

  • usb input via mp3 player!

    awesome reviews as usual

  • Back looks like the new Focus!

  • It's funny. Afer I saw this video, Fifth Gear uploaded a teaser where they also test and review this car, and when I was done watching the teaser, they showed a commercial for this car on TV. Oh, and even commercial on my PC.

  • I definitely thought he was going to talk about the negatives of the Rio at 2:40 lol.

  • Used to live near a Kia dealership, some guy who bought a Rio had so many problems with it he ended up parking it out front with big posters in the windows listing how many problems he had with it. That was 5 years ago, this new Rio has been designed post-Hyundai 51% buyout, although I seriously doubt it's reliability is any better.

  • @PeetPeeet I should clarify - he abandoned it in disgust because of all the issues with it, was pretty hilarious.

Remember, KIA = Killed In Action.

  • @PeetPeeet So what? Look on youtube "BMW 335i Lemon Series" or "BMW Build Quality Issues" or "BMW 7-Series Problems, ACA, A Current Affair". It doesn't mean all BMWs sucks. If you have no luck it doesn't meatter what badge you drive.

  • I'll be honest I pre-judge every Kia I see, mainly based on the type of people who drive them, who are all old, boring and/or cheap.

Where's the fast Kia for enthusiasts, the model with a certain je ne sais quoi? You can't be enthusiastic about a middle of the range, middle of the road blandmobile. The warranty impresses me more than the car.

  • @ImHereToAnnoyYou Have you seen the Optima SX? 275 HP and BMW like handeling. Plus it's actually a great looking car. And anyways, their cars aren't middle of the road anymore, their newer models are class leading or at the top of their class.

  • @AdrianC12345 Nope, because it doesn't exist in the UK.

The fastest Kia you can buy here is the Sorento SUV Diesel, scorching to 60 mph in a scant 9.4 seconds, and topping out at a beastly 118 mph.

  • 7year warranty? id prefer to buy one in the US b/c it has a 10yr/100k

  • @navlomenos I´m sure the average car buyer wants to know if a 8 million car have decent floor mats.

  • I'm seriously considering taking this car for a test drive. You just made me want to consider it. Btw, Mat have you been working out? Your pecs look pumped in that sweater.

  • awesome little car.

    great review love it!

  • Matt please review the ford s max

  • alpha romeo mito please!!!!!!

  • Front of fiesta?

  • @KutadguB No way. That front is uniqe.

  • Good thing i´m used to litres and kilometres.

  • this is the only supermini i would consider buying, the hyundai accent a close second.

  • I like it. And I like its name.

  • still can't get used to that rear look, look very like a Seat.

  • How long have you been using the same bottle?

  • Thanks for reviewing a car that is also sold in North America. Value your reviews. Though we get a direct injected 1.6 and will be getting also a sedan with a trunk (boot to you). Wish we had avaiable the 88 mpg diesel.

  • @bigcrowfly You may want to watch Tom Voelk's review of the same car (search YouTube for "DrivenCarReviews"). It is interesting to compare the styles, these reviewers are somewhat similar in their consumer-oriented and minimalistic approach.

  • Love the new camera you´ve got!

  • 88MPG! HOLY S****! :O

  • Is it supermini? I would take it over Polo! Bland, but overall nice car with 7 YEAR warranty - beat that VW!

  • Excellent review. Good teachers never tire of repeating useful information, such as "plenty of adjustment..."! Mat's cheerfulness is so refreshing; I watch there reviews to brighten up my day!

  • videoreview of mercedes B-class?...thankss

  • @TheDM75 ..and the orange one!!

  • Nice car but what i like more is his watch *g*

Does someone know what watch he is wearing?

  • great review as always mat :D

  • @MitchellOke Last video as well. Bad quality.

  • @MitchellOke But actually, I don't see anything wrong with the quality on this video. It's still good, but on the previous one, the quality is really, really bad.

  • great car, great review mat!

  • 7 year waranty BUT !!! up to 150 000 km if im not mistaking, so in a way if your driving a lot 7 years dont count once you go over the 150 000 km mark , but i will agree you get the car that is resonably priced :] but i wouldnt buy it just because 1. its a kia i dont like that badge 2. side pillars, i had a car with that problem so no thank you ! dont want a car that creates a blind spot when i need to see and i cant because of the pillars

  • lol cheeky mat 2:36

  • I like the front end but the rear just looks.. Strange.

  • good review :), i have been very interested in this kia rio for along time and i am impressed with the 1.1 diesel - 3 cylinder, if i had the money i would buy one. but atleast someone has finally agreed with the idea i have had in my head for such a long time, to make diesel turbos, small but very economical.

  • Kia and Huyndai face head on the western counterparts. They ve done a fine job.

  • I love this guy~ (@8@)

  • goood review as always mat. :)

Guys i'm inviting you to check out my philippine car reviews. I know some cars here do not exist in your place and some cars might be interesting to you. :) please thumbps up! :)
