I think it's sounds better on a guitar than the original piece for violin. In fact, Paganini was also a guitarist and this piece sounds more like he was writing for violin thinking of a guitar.

Barrios is by far, the greatest composer for guitar music. Yngwie Malmsteen is nothing compared to him. Similar to Paganini for Violin, Barrios is extremely difficult. In fact I find it shameful Yngwie Malmsteen is even mentioned amoung the musicians in this particular genre.

I don't know what it is they are doing over there in China, but they are producing players at an alarming rate, all with the same technique! Her right hand is a carbon copy of that of Xuefei Yang (whom i have also heard play this piece) I think it is production though, because there seems, to my ears, very little originality between interpretations. :(

This is an amazing display, the guitar is basically a percussion instrument and the way you mimic other sting intruments is by pulling off, hammering on and various other vibrato techniques, combined with sliding allows you to play a guitar to make it suit a classical matrix. To say this is without emotion and incongruent with what Paggini would have been hearing in is head when he was writing this music, is inane to the point of absurdity.
