  • Any car still moving should have bee thrown out or race officials fired for telling them to move. that is a good way to get rescuers or escaping drivers run over and hurt for no reason at all. The way this was handled is ridiculous.

  • every car should also have a fire extinguisher. then all drivers can come to aid. just a suggestion.

  • holy sh!t

  • ok to yall that say tracks need a fire truck whit a lot of water and stuff thats not true there are producks that i have used at other tracks i have worked and my own track that would have put that out in no time flat they are not that hard to get out and keep out i have been doing fire and safety cents 2004 and have not had one not go out yet knock on wood lol but still hope everyone got out ok

  • thats one of the 2 ways i wanna die i wanna die doing wat i love

  • wow, now that's a fire! Never seen a modified burn that much, usually got put out before it got bad

  • did anyone else notice the cars were still goin around the track y did they pull the yellow flag instead of the red!?!?!?!?

  • Yes i am not the only one to catch on fire i have been on fire 4 times it sucks

  • thats fucked, you need multiple safety crew with fire extinguishers not 1 guy with 1 fire extinguisher.

stupidity like that gets people killed

  • Stupid small fire extinguishers for huge car with lots of fuel. When those fucked-up organizer will learn that is need huge pickups with very large acopled fire extinguishers, ans not just silly small extinguishe???

  • no shit rite.... mods mostly run 32 gallon fuel cells a dinky little fire extinguisher is really going to do anything as we just saw.....

  • @jerryaltman Yet another example of track operators that aren't equipped to have a race like this. If there isn't a fully operational fire truck(s) on site for this kind of thing the insurance companies shouldn't allow them to open the gates. What if he wasn't able to get out? Then what?

  • I race stock cars and fire is probably my #1 fear, which is why I run as little fuel as possible though some put a bunch in for weight. Looks like everyone was able to get out OK here but imagine if a car was pinned up by the window? This guy may not have made it! Track response to this acciden was pathetic. And it's going to these tracks with subpar safety crew and safety equipment that may come back to bite us some day but we CHOSE to do it!

  • This is text book how to NOT deal with a fire at a track.

  • Good to see it from another angle! I was watching that from the pit side. That's the second car of Grant's (Car No. 2) that has went up in flames. I think it just was a really bad night for racing. We bent a whole bunch of bars on the chassis, frame horns, trashed bodies, bent wheels, broken shocks, and a blown motor...all between 2 cars, plus Grant catching on fire...

And yes, that was an alcohol fire.

  • all i know is, there are tracks here in arizona, that have had cars rip down half the catch fence, end up in the grandstand area, and the track merely patches the same fence back together. If it didnt work the FIRST time, how is a patchwork fence supposed to work? tracks need to either get with it, or stop. making excuses for it, doesnt work.

  • why are there cars continuing to circle while 40 gallons of racing fuel burn?

  • Slow retarded marshalls action. Only one guy aone for a long time with a weak hand extibnguisher. On Indy we see pick-upos with huge fire extinguishers get very fast to the crash scene and start action immediately.

  • shut up you can't compare this to Indy. Indy has millions of dollars to work with. These tracks only make a few thousand in profit a week. It's much better racing than Indy though.

  • regardless, you still have 3 factors in common with indy:

    HIGH SPEED.

20 gallons (or more) of Racing Fuel

    Peoples lives in jeopardy.

If they cant afford the basics of a firetruck, an ambulance and a off duty cop, onsite, they dont belong in business.

  • at these tracks, you are lucky to come away with more than a couple hundred bucks in winnings at each race. Although this track surely should have more equipment, that would require drivers to pay much higher entry fees and less winnings for races. It's a hard situation that the smaller tracks are in right now. I agree 100% there should of been more safety equipment at this track.... but this track is also an exception to the rule. MOST even small tracks have excellent safety standards.

  • rly bad filing but i was there they managed to live the crash :D

  • that looks like gasoline to me alcohol would burn more blue that that....scary fire there tho wow

  • imca modifieds dont run gasoline.... atleast not good ones!

  • this aint imca bud pretty much nuthin round NE kansas is sanctioned no wat ur talkin bout b4 u say it (btw i might b gasoline...like half the cars run it and half run alcohol)

  • Unfortunately, they could not get it out. Had to let it burn out. That's the worst thing with those gas/alcohol fires. They are nearly impossible to extinguish!

  • how many fire extinguishers did it take to put the fire out lol

  • Not many...if you use the correct extinguishing agent and apply it properly, that is...
