I've been doing a lot of research on this breed for my book, since they're one of the few that existed in the time period in which it takes place, and I do believe I'll be visiting wolfhound rescue centers for my next dog. I'm partial to my golden retriever, but these are wonderful animals <3.
Yes, I was also attacked by a vicious wolfhound today. He had my whole hand in his mouth like a boa constrictor swallowing it's prey...lol, he even mauled my face with his tongue.
well this video sets it for me, I think I'm going to get me a Irish wolf hound knowing that the dog will abuse my nephew with love such a good dog :]]
they really are gentle giants, ive grown up with one and if we went for a long walk or something when we were young and we got grumpy and tired she would always walk alongside you, and they are also so gentle, i have a 6 year old brother and regardless of its size you can leave ihim holding her and she wont run off, she always plays chases with him and lets him win, they are in my eyes, the most loving dog in the world ♥
They are so gentle it's making my heart melt. IW loves children and would never hurt anyone if not threatned and there was no other way out :) That's why I love them so much. They're like gentle giants.
Well, don't be too hard on the drunken Irishmen of this world. I mean, for all YOU know the load that was dropped into your mother at that gangbang 25 years ago could have been spawned by a drunken Irishman. Too bad you'll never know for sure, huh?
I have owned two of these wonderful dogs in my life, and more loving creatures cannot be found on God's Earth. My biggest male was 36" at the shoulders. He, and my other wolfhound, have both crossed the Rainbow Bridge long ago. The only negative thing about being owned by a Woflhound is that they do not live a very long life. "Live To Wag, Wag To Live!" should be the motto of the Irish Wolfhound.
please change the title...wasn't going to watch it but glad i did....its so cute and portrays the wolfhound so well...Just change the title so more will watch it!
I wish you would change the title of this..I almost didnt watch it, thinking it was true. It gives the wrong impression of these most wonderful gentle greatest of all dogs.....
you know, I almost didn't either. But I figured that not even youtube would put a snuff film up (well, at least, not for long, anyway), and I'm glad I watched it, because if that's maulling, then gimme some!
I grew up with an irish wolfhound mix, and there are many pictures of me being similarily "attacked" by my dog ;-) They're such beautiful, gentle creatures. When I have kids of my own, I hope that I'll be able to provide them with a companion like I had.
IW's are gentle giants. My 3 children grew up with 2 of these "beasts." The five were inseparable. RIP Clance and Tobb, both had to be put down for age and disease in 2007, 4 months apart. They were litter brothers and made our lives hilariously funny for 14 years. We have a mixed Dalmation/Lab now and he's a big brawny dog, he's also terrific with small children. Raised right, most dogs will always view children in a family as their "charges" to protect.
well the dog is an Irish Wolfhound...Gentle giants they are called...giant yes...gentle so very much so unless you disrupt their "pack"...they truly are wonderful creatures.
This is so typical of an Irish Wolfhound, they are so good with children but as seen, due to their weight and size this type of play does need to be monitored as accidents can happen. Children just seem to fall in love with them on first sight as is evident every time we walk ours up through our local town, everybody just wants to hug and pet him and He "Merlin" just laps it up!! but it does get a bit boring when nearly every single person says "you could put a saddle on that one" Oh well, lol
The way I've read it about Irish Wolfhounds is that they love children. Despite their name refering to a fearsome animal like "wolf" and beeing very very big....they are good family hounds. But not recommended for people living in a city.
Had a Dobe-wolfhound mix that was an incredible dog, very patient and loving, protective, and with the Dobe coloring and the wolfhound wiry hair, he was so ugly he was cute. Unfortunately he also got the wolfhound lifespan -- 7 years is so short it's almost cruel.
We have a choc lab mixed with a irish wolfhound... she is 6 months old now and can stand and put her paws almost to my collarbone, I am 5'9. Sweetest most friendliest dog and very protective, I have ever had.
