I just got mine today and I'm having some problems. First problem is that the first shell will go in and stay in just fine. However the second shell doesn't stay in place. I have to load the third shell in on top to of it to hold it in place, but the fourth shell stays in fine...weird. Second problem is that I can't set the safety because I can't get it to move off the "Fire" position. It's just jammed there and I'm afraid that if I keep forcing it the gun will break.
where did you get it from? you may need to just de-greaseand relube it. I'd say just call the place you got it and have them play around w/ it for a while and see what they think. If you don't wana do that just yet, pull the black lever outwards and then wipe everything out and then spray some silicon in the bottom part of the bolt(you should see the spring) and rock the safety back and forth as much as possible.
the shells maybe defective as they are the part of the package w/ the lowest quality. new ones aren't too expensive. and since the shells are double stacked, if one is narrowe than the others it may not sit tight enough.
Where did you get the rifle from? I'd say get a small amount of each kind of gas and then use the lighter of the two(134a) and do a PMC(poor mans chronograph) and see which is shooting closet to the advertised FPS. Just make sure your using GOOD quality .2 bb's. For example never, EVER use the BB's that come with the gun.
It should say somewhere either on the gun near the filling valve or on the box or in the booklet. As for spare parts, I'm not sure. you may be able to contact DBoys customer service and ask if they can sell you replacement parts.
nice reciew man, my first airsoft rifle was a panther arms m4 aeg and i love it but im thinking about getting a w2 era gun (love ww2 and know alot about it) would you reccomend it for target shooting in my back yard? also if iw as to buy it from dboys, how much would the spring one cost me. thx alot
i bought wood version of this gun well u are right wood looks realy cheap and ugly well gun itself is sweet but its not good weapon is normal battles but in target shooting its great choice
is there a way to mount a scope? cause i like the fact that it uses shells, so if you count put a scope rail on top of the bolt, that would make it perfect, so please comment
not to my knowledge, no. even if you were to just put a bb in the back of the barrel and charge the gun, it would have major compression/power issue's. The back of the shell and front of the cylinder meet and form a path for the air to get the round.
it's weight is already pretty good. the quality of the wood is very poor. take a look at the comments below, they pretty much you what I would just have to repeat....
I finally received the gun a couple days ago and it's a blast. The plastic is decent but it bugs the hell out of me that the butt of the stock is hollow. Are there any tutorials on how to take this thing apart fully if I want to put it in a real K98 stock?
not exactly. I've seen project where people have taken other bolt actions, in particular a USR-11. And put IT in an VZ 24. I also have not seen anything like guide to take it apart. Though my barrel band(the one with the sling loop) has begun to move. About 5 to 10mm forwards and backwards.
the real wood isn't good. performance is obviously the same, but the faux wood on this one is the best in the sport. If you really want real wood... you'd have better luck buying a really beat Turkish or Czech version of the 98K, pull out all the internals and modify the body to accept the bolt system, barrel and hop up unit. Then just re-finish the stock.
you may be able to make a custom mount that fits on top of the bolt housing or receiver. A company called Viva Airsoft Works is SUPPOSED to be coming out with a receiver mount with NcStar 2x20 Pistol Scope package for around $60. It was SUPPOSED to come out around the end of Nov., but so far I haven't seen it advertised anywhere other than RSOV com
not so great about the gun. you could run over it with a 300-600 grit sandpaper and get the feel down then use a good plastic bonding spray paint and apply that to get you a better looking gun. Just remember to clean your barrel before and after EVERY time you use it. Hope this helped.
from what I've heard yes, a very good choice. Make sure yo get one quick as they are rumored to be discontinued. The thing you will want to do first thing when you get the gun is clean it, barrel and hop up. Then use either TSD .28's or SGM's from AirsoftAtlanta or AEX com. They will get you AWESOME results. It comes with a 6.03 tightbore, so accuracy is very good stock. you may want to look at the Nineball bucking for VSR/pistols as it will increase consistancy. the finish is the only thing...
how do those shells actually work? do you have to "load" them with gas or so?haven't ever used GNB's so yeah

i use 20 grams
but dont now the best position
MrSuperpriest 2 years ago
in what gun? .20's are popular, but not too accurate with a gun that runs over 300 fps. try something heavier like .23 or .25
Du57yx91630n5 2 years ago
@Du57yx91630n5 so for a dboys kar would you sugest the heavier bbs
usmc123100 2 months ago
will u review ur sd700 please or tell me what is the bestposition for the hop up
MrSuperpriest 2 years ago
the best position for your hop up is where ever the type of ammo you use has the most accuracy and range possible.

Would you recommend this gun for someone that just shoots targets and has an affinity for WWII weapons (especially the K98)?

oh, DEFINITELY

Awesome, what's the best site to purchase it from?

AirsoftGI com should still have it for $109 w/ free shipping...

Is that the plastic stock, or wood stock? The site doesn't really say.

plastic, the wood version really isn't worth getting

Any specifics as to why? I think I'd enjoy the weight of the wood and the feel of it. Any major differences?
