  • who is that guy on the cover hes hot

  • @cprdummysex that's a girl.

  • @cprdummysex you're an idiot

  • @cprdummysex stupid it's a girl

  • i think the girl on the cover is gorgeous

  • afropop ftw :)

  • Vampire Weekend is a great band :) I love them! But all the idiots that hear this in Hollister and think it's amazing and then feel the need to comment about it ruins it for everyone else. Ugh. I'm very angst-y about this.

  • Is this just audacity or chuzpah?!?

This is nice but clearly stolen, it's way too apparent. Just listen to Paul Simon's "Graceland"; - even the voice sounds similar.

Yeah!! - "She Got Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes"

  • @MrMaralisa

I'm not tryin to be smart, but I don't think they sound anything alike........

  • @jordanjmdjmd74 : well just understand me right, I really love VW's music.

It's just that south african music style that reminds me so much of Simon's "Graceland".

  • @MrMaralisa on this song.

  • ugh stupid nevada commercial

  • @TechnoBot1000 Nevada Commercials suck :/

  • My skateboard will go on.

  • this song=orgasm in my ear.

  • this played in hollister once. my friends and i all started singing the chorus extremely loudly. it was a good moment.

  • hahah i was singing the aoo aooo ooo aooo oo in costco and some old man laughed and gave me thubs up!xD

  • y dont ppl like this song, is it the chorus?

  • When Paul Simon meets Bobby McFerrin... LOVE IT!

  • this song reminds me of the type of music i heard when i was growing up in Africa

  • @shulternuctin Yeah it looks like they took that kind off African tribal music and shoved some technology into it and made this

  • Comment removed

  • Is it just me or does anyone else hear a Sting-esque influence in VW's music? In this one, especially. I mean, I dunno. Maybe it's just me.

  • Thumbs up if you followed lequisling's comment to see if it was correct :p

  • This band reminds me of Lord of the Flies for some reason and so does MGMT

  • @Joc0522 ThankYou!! Someone Said I was Crazy For Saying That This Band Reminded Me Of MGMT

  • For me this reminds me of Tarzan or Jungle Book or something in the jungle haha

  • This song has sort of an African twist to it. Like South African. I like it.

  • @LucillesMarionette yea it does. I'm not sure if it's South African, but it's so cool. it reminds me of something I would hear at an African party though lol, that was my first thought when I heard it.

  • My Geography teacher plays this song during passing periods haha

  • They played this Hollister all the time ! This became my favorite song lol .

  • in a year this comment will have more thumbs up than the present ones ;-)

  • this reminds me of a programme i used to watch when i was a kid, it might have been rosie and jim or something haha

  • paul simon wannabe's.........listen to the boy in the bubble

  • @SaturnProds This is EXACTLY what I was thinking.

  • @chevonnejustine And the song I meant exactly is Crazy Love, Vol II

  • @SaturnProds not really, they just dig a lot from the same well with African music as Paul Simon has done... but I don't think it sounds like they boy in the bubble anyway...

  • this is the kind of music i expect to hear when im being dragged into a mental hospital...

  • this song makes me happier than anything else in the world

  • The 8th song on the album & this one remind me of scooby doo chase scenes :D

  • @theMODELHENNy Hahaahahahaha you are so right!!!

  • This reminds me of songs my mom had me listen to when I was a baby, the kinda tropical island almost Paul Simonish feel just makes me giddy and I feel like going to do mission work in Africa. I don't know why.

  • About 3% of the population have no clue of what good music sounds like... this song is awesome..

  • @AllAmericanDollyrot not necessarily, just falsetto

  • I need to make a video for this , love it so much

  • I was in Victoria Secret with my friend, and this song came on and i started dancing around the store singing the chorus extra loud. My friends think i'm officially crazy. They just don't understand! ^_^

  • @Ahnork :3 I would dance also.

  • @Ahnork The same happened to me. I was shoe shopping with my wife. I just had to ask the shopkeeper what song it was but she could only tell me the name of the band. I'm so happy I found it here. It's such a making-me-happy-song.

  • @Ahnork SAME THING HAPPENED TO MOI!!!! but they tried to sing along and that just didn't work oout cuz they didn't even know the band, so i dragged them out of a comic store >:)

    weird.

  • Lmao! I made this my dads ringtone once! but it was only the 1:04 - 1:19 part which was perfect. I turned the volume up all the way and called him while he was talking to all of his friends, and they were like "...uh.". It. Was. Awesome. :p

  • @SkatetoAmaze Oh my god, I am almost crying because I'm laughing so hard. Brilliant story.

  • @SkatetoAmaze HAHAHAHAHA

  • @SkatetoAmaze hahahaha omg that's funny! i would totally do that to my dad too!

  • @SkatetoAmaze Lmfao! That was great

  • @SkatetoAmaze That is literally the perfect prank.

  • @SkatetoAmaze I think he was like "SON OF A BITCH!"

  • Ok... well she's fit.

  • It's weird how I like music like A Day To Remember AND Vampire weekend.

    My music taste is weird.

    I like it.

  • @allyruby44 I like the sex pistols and this. I win in weirdness.

  • @nge1301 thats cool! I would argue that most people listen to a wide variety of genres, as opposed to only one, which is great! I listen to dubstep, reggae, salsa, bluegrass, rock, rap, this, etc. So do a lot of other people, including vampre weekend. Music is great, only weirdos would limit themselves to only one genre.

  • Dude badass song I just jizzed all over tokyo I cant believe they nvr heard of these huys

  • I swear to god that that's the best orgasm of all time

  • do'nt worry! these 6 people who dislike this video dont like the coverwoman but the love the song^^

    another way isnt possible

  • @Sudhish86 Just, drop it.

  • fave part :D 1:04

  • Hiiiihaaa!

(this song shouldn't be described in a lot of words)

  • Total Graceland! Paul Simon har fandeme ikke levet forgæves!

  • the screams at 1:10 made me lol

  • @hatsukou Uhmm, they're still good. It honestly doesn't matter if they have bad lyrics. Which, they don't. Yeah, some of them don't make that much sense, but that doesn't mean shit. The point is that they have good music &People love them for that.

  • Comment removed

  • @Sudhish86 i cant understand people who go into music videos just to say they dont like the music. thats ASKING to be hated. when i dont like a band i just dont listen to it!

p.s.: i like the strokes and kol too. lol

  • @nge1301, you can't understand? As I watch something get worse and worse (they're lowering the bar with their writing, musicianship, and creativity), I feel the need to do something about it. VW is very popular and needs to be addressed. When South Park sees somehting they believe shouldn't be there, they attack it on their show. They don't just leave it alone. That's irresponsible. I don't attack all the shiddy things I see. I just attack the ones which are popular.

  • @Sudhish86 oh yeah, sorry. I forgot. if its popular its ok to attack. cause south park said so, right?

  • @nge1301, you obviously don't care to read what's been said. I used SP as an example of people who don't leave things alone when they oppose something. I didn't use them in any way that makes what you say make sense...You're a bozo, dude.

  • @nge1301, ps:

KOL, as a whole, are pretty bad. They're old stuff was unpretentious, but was ape-like dumb while being extremely derivative of the strokes. All of their albums have indicated they have 0 originality and only try to be like other bands. But, speaking of the strokes, Is this It was possibly the best well-known popmusic album of all time. As opposed to their imitators, their writing was subconscious but was controlled enough to hold together. They've lost their way since, though.

  • @Sudhish86 im not gonna discuss music taste, cause thats just senseless. people just like different stuff.

  • @nge1301, "taste" is just one possible element of music...I'm not discussing taste either. I'm criticizing them for lowering the bar for future musicians who will come out and put the little effort into everything because they know they can get away with it when listeners are desparate and will reduce their personal standards to feel like their satisfied...That's why VW is popular...We've been deprived of something "good" for so long that people gave up those expectations for something easy.

  • <3<3

  • @Sudhish86 I'm sorry, but you sound SO stupid. The lyrics don't really matter. I mean, you can't just hate a band b/c they have bad lyrics (which they don't). And, their lyrics don't make sense SOMETIMES, but it's still good. And I completely agree with @snugglings.

  • @vampireweekendloverr. The lyrics don't matter? In popmusic? I would say lyrics shouldn't matter in meaningful, more effective music, but do help make popmusic direct and easy. I should say that a lot of the writing on their first album was at least a concentrated, single stream of subconscious input--which is the basic genesis of good writing. But the things they had in mind seemed to be all over the map. I know, I know. That's not its "genre"'s purpose. It's still so much less than it couldB

  • Vampire weekend are individualists and I love them for that *AHHHHHHHH AHHHHHH AAAOOOOOOOOHHHHH!!*

  • @Sudhish86 Wtff? Stfu, Vampire Weekend is the shit. So what if they don't have "meanings" in their songs? That's not the point. The point is that they're fucking GOOD. Aiight?

  • @vampireweekendloverr so you're basically saying their songs sound good, and you're admitting their songs have so substance when it comes to lyrics right? well compared to many other bands who have BOTH good melodies AND lyrical substance... vampire weekend sucks... so i don't see why vw is "the shit" >.>

  • Comment removed

  • one of the reasons why i love vw is because (and i try to saty away from comparing bands) they sound like paul simon's solo work

  • good stuff

  • these guys got in trouble for putting that babe on their album cover...

    Then Ralph Lauren got mad

  • I love Vampire Weekend, their music is so catchy and soothing. Also, it does have some nice meaning behind the words, I love it =)

  • i love how the music is stereotypical i was seriously about to start African dancing to this song

  • this music sounds so south african

  • @XMissWaronaJayX wtf South African?

  • @Wootnezz yes it actually does has a south african element to it, i come from southern africa but i live in the uk and my parents always play music like this from southern africa and without the dude singing it would practically be a south african song. :)

  • @XMissWaronaJayX You're so right, it reminds me of living in ZImbabwe, strange but true, not the singing but the instrumental part :)

  • saw these guys live tonight....enjoyed them even more than arcade fire, who they were supporting.

  • @Sudhish86 does it matter what else has been made?? it stands alone as being awesome.

  • @MissBehave915, in my world, yes. When I hear something that is much better than what I currently enjoy(for whatever reason), my standards evolve and what I once liked might only be shite.

  • this song gives me joy!
