  • wow It's great!! how did you connect sega with midi interface???

  • Genesis sounds so great. really looking forward to giving you all my money

  • I'd love to buy one of these, do you have a website or kickstarter page? another guy is selling an NES Midi interface through kickstarter, maybe you could do likewise.

  • when and where can you buy that adapter?

  • How does someone get started setting up game system sound chips to work as useable instruments or as MIDI controlled instruments or whatever?

Sorry for the n00b question but I've not found anything helpful on the subject yet.

  • Man this is AWESOME!! ^_^

  • Fucking awesome dude how do you proceed to plug your midi device on the megadrive system ?

  • Oh my God. I think you are my new hero. Can you sell me one of these. I have been dreaming of being able to do this since I was 10.

  • This is awesome! This will be VERY useful to me. You kick ass!

  • holy mother of mary, someone mentioned to me you had a mega drive midi interface, and i just assumed theyd made a mistake and were refering to the master system one, but it is! are you planning on making these bad boys availible? if you are, do you have any idea as to when? i almost creamed my pants watching that, you just never stop with the awesomeness do you?

  • I thought you might like this one! Let me assure you that these MIDI interfaces will definitely be available in the future.

  • 10 months have gone by.... where are they?

  • Haha i just saw it, that is some real epic work indeed! I was too lazy to re-wiki the name of the chip.

Have you any plans to make it open source...

and can you change what Waveforms are selected on the Ym2612 via midi data etc..?

I suppose youve a different CC value setup for each function.

its extremely impressive stuff you;re doing!

  • Yes, every aspect of the YM2612 can be controlled via MIDI.

  • Are both chips being controlled?

You know that one which has 3 squarewave generators and a noise generator,

as well as the Yamaha fm chip.

    Thats pretty awesome work dude!

  • Hi there, this is just for the FM chip (the Ym2612).

I made a Sega Master System MIDI interface (if you look in my videos you can see an example), in which case the SN76489 (the PSG you're talking about) is being controlled via MIDI.

  • very nice man, just wondering are those RCA connections to the sega? if so what MIDI data is being sent to the sega? cheers

  • Which RCA connections? The ones going to the TV? Of so, then yes. Those are for the audio (and video).

The MIDI data is just note on / off and cc data from Live.
