  • chinese people ni wei shen me kan ge ge you si ni men dou zhi dao zhen me shuo zhong wen

translation chinese people why are you watching this video you already know how to say chinese

  • 好多錯誤

  • Very quick, definitely interesting, but not always correct.

  • it is speeled YEN not yuan

  • @kctosdtraveler Yuan is Chinese Renmenbi 人民幣, and Yen is Japanese Yen 円

  • I thought it most spoken languages went English -> Spanish -> Madarin Chinese -> Arabic

  • yiyuan zai nair means where's the doctor..not the hospital

  • @beatboxpeej @beatboxpeej No, "yīyuǎn" means hospital, and "yīshēng" means a doctor. Try to consult a Chinese before posting a "correction".

  • @spore637 wow my comment was really old hehe. You are right I learned that maybe two weeks after I posted the comment.

  • The music is so weird....

  • 吻我

  • THIS is SO offensive to me!!

  • music is weird in back ground and go to moto4maddness channel and plzzz comment !!!!!!

  • CHI BAI!

  • Wow, um, so funny video, especially the "have you eaten?" part. But I'm not entirely sure if they're being serious or just mocking Chinese culture....

Too fast and the English transliterations are in bad fonts and organizations.

  • Great job, though not perfectly accurate, but that's good enough for any back packers i suppose.

  • Comment removed

  • bi zui (shut up) is a little bit harsh...

  • The comments would make me think there is many mistakes in this video. But it's so well done that I watch it to learn anyway, and cross-reference it's material with the language Nazi's comments.

  • the background music makes me depressed

  • actually the second most spoken languaje in the world is spanish.....english is the third! :D

  • @ED9306 No, no it's English.

  • @RainexFalls no it's not....is spanish :) as mother languaje.....as second languaje + mother languaje...yes it is english :)

  • @ED9306 No you're wrong. English is second, Hindi is third. Spanish is much less spoken.

  • the actors are fking high

  • i loled at step 6

  • this video feels so trippy

  • you need to say wo shi if you wanna say youre name. ni hao! wo shi - and then youre name.

    我是..

  • @MOR7295 wojiao=my name is

    woshi=i am

  • piao liang doesnt mean wonderful O.O it means pretty or beautiful.... so if a girl tells a guy ' youre so pretty' then things will be.......

  • Good

  • 1:16 .. LOL

    step wot?

  • Be a man !

  • I don't know if asking "have you ate?" is really equivalent to "how are you?" It's more like someone commenting, "nice weather," in the US. It's just a polite way of striking up a conversation.

  • Ni zhen piao liang? Wouldn't that be more like, "You are really pretty"?

  • @aerisismine It means "You're pretty!"

  • This video proves to the douchebags that chinese is not "ching chong chong ching"

  • @y8art105

because that's more like Cantonese, which hk ppl speak.

there are many of 'em in western countries,

so westerners tend to think Chinese sounds that way.

  • @y8art105

Russell Peters has a good definition on that xD

  • wen is actually not kiss depends on your accent

  • wen is actually not kiss

  • thank you

  • GET A NATIVE SPEAKER!! and some people can speak english gosh. hong jiu means red wine. not wine. dou sau chiang means how much money!!! GOSH!! ne zhen piao lian = u r beautiful/handsome/

ou she fuang nee= i luv u. plz go fix these and go 2 a class GOSH

  • Wow douchbags Asian is not a bunch of chings and chongs.

  • @HollyLe143 ching ching chong chong ching ching ching

  • @squirtthepencilout why do people say ching chong. is that even in the language? lol

  • No, never asking any kiss or physical touch at first date, or, you will be seen a rude people , and kiss in Chinese not means smell at all, it is two words, the mouth and not, do not know why , may only should use light kiss and lips only. :) so funny. :) Say anything as indirectly as you possible to get the attention and love only . Remember.

  • No, never asking any kiss or physical touch at first date, or, you will be seen a rude people , and kiss in Chinese not means smell at all, it is two words, the mouth and not, do not know why , may only should use light kiss and lips only. :) so funny. :)

  • Hahahaha oh my gosh I couldn't stop laughing. Now everyone who's just watched the video, watch it again and think about someone who is trying to learn Chinese so that they can pick up a prostitute haha All the phrases fit right into place. Besides that it was actually pretty good. Never seen that kind of spelling for pinyin so it looks like they just made some mistakes. And as for vorpal22's comment, she probably had parents from mainland so she has the stronger accent on the various characters.

  • That was one of the best videos I have seen so far. It makes me so happy just to look at it and I learn fast from it too :-) XieXie !

  • I hurt my leg

Ah bang ma far kin nee

  • i don't suppose anyone knows the music for this video ?

  • 你叫甚麼名字。 (nǐ jiào shénme míngzi)

The "mingzi" is pronounced ming-dzi, not ming-ji! zh is pronounced like a j, but z is pronounced like dz, like the ds in "lads".

Also "ging"? You mean "Qing" for please.

    Duosaoquan? 多少錢, or dūoshǎoqián.

Overall, very cute video. Too bad about the few errors.

  • Step five: Ask wakaiocnhignhauibaibajahfiuashdubasudbjbjchinesechineselongandcomplicated, then there's a smiling guy shaking a beer bottle. Suddenly I feel this is not so easy.

  • Your Chinese sucks more than the Chinglish of the Chinese.

  • I bet that the girl speaking is a chinese resident.

  • after they kissed they went to the hospital? lol

  • "ce zuo" translates most literally to "toilet". In China, people most often don't use this, for it is embarrassing to say, "I am going to the toilet" just as it is in the US. Instead, they most commonly use, "wei sheng jian" which is closest to restroom, or bathroom. So one could say, "wei sheng jian zai nar?" or "wei sheng jian zai na li?" as is most common in the south.

  • @squirtthepencilout way cute !

  • FAIL!!!!

  • 吻(wen)/ 亲(qin)=== both means kiss。

    闻(wen)=== that means smell。

  • 我喜欢馅饼!竖起大拇指,如果您使用谷歌翻译

  • @iq12212 LOL Translation FAIL, the positions of different part of speech is wrong. :)

  • 42 people were either told 'bi zui' or couldn't find the train station.

  • LOL am I the ONLY one that remembers bi zui? XD

  • wen is NOT the same as smell!!!

  • @KuoMeihsing but they are prounced the same way

  • @xxDeadHeartzxx they are definitely not pronounced the same way, there's a difference of tones.

  • @KuoMeihsing yes it is.

  • @KuoMeihsing well it has that meaning "闻"

  • @KuoMeihsing 一样叻

  • Hey, Chifanle Meiyou can't be answered by Xiexie. Even though Chifanle Meiyou pragmatically means "How are you," you still should answer with "you" or "meiyou," which means "I have" and "I havn't" respectively. Answering Chifanle Meiyou with "xiexie" is like answering "what's up" with "fine."

  • @KuoMeihsing Well technically in the video they asked you to nod after the asked that. So that negates the need to answer it with you or mei you.

  • your pronunciation and spelling are both wrong... i don't see how this is helpful...

  • The aside isn't very standard....

  • The pronunciation is not up to snuff.

  • im not gonna say "duo shao qian' cuz will get slap by girl if you say so..

  • Comment removed

  • i gotta go to china and try this on a white girl.... oh wait THERE AREN'T ANY

  • Comment removed

  • She is so beautiful!

  • golly! This ish is wonky beyond belief. I don't think i could learn mandarin like this :[

  • @squirtthepencilout he has a nice smile and stubble.

  • nizhenpiaoliang means you're pretty, not you're wonderful.

  • @squirtthepencilout i would \but im not a homo

  • i'm a guy, but man, this is so cute =]

  • If you say these phrases without tones,

they can mean totally diffrent things.

It is very important to learn the tones first!

  • Thanks for the vid but...you have made alot of mistakes so far

  • why are we getting Chinese lessons from a white sounding girl....i dont trust this

  • that's a mistake, right? im a chinese and i dont think "have you eaten" is like "how are you"....

i think it really does means HAVE U EATEN...

  • 这 很 笨! 为什 么 您 们 不 想 自 己 用 书 本 学? 用 书 本 一 点 都 不 会 难!

(this is so stupid and lousy, why not use a book to learn. using the book is not a bit hard!)

    No offense, howcast. :)

  • @LexieBear1 同意!!

  • Thank goodness for the pause button huh, lol? They do go along pretty quickly.

  • Step 1: Buy Rosetta Stone

  • umm you cant really speak chinese? its either cantonese or mandarin

  • ちょっとシュール過ぎると思う。

  • if you say 'bi zui' which means shut up, you will be beat in china. seriously, you cannot speak that word to a stranger.

  • Ask Benny is still fast, but more doable.

  • Holy shit, this video is trippy as balls

  • i like when guy gets slapped when he asks how much it costs, instead of when he tells the room mate to shut up.

  • i like when guy gets slapped when he asks how much it costs.

  • I thought some of it was helpful, but the acting was really cheezy and I don't think all the lovey stuff was necassary.

  • Liked it a lot, its pathetic that there theres so few decent videos for learners, especially adults who may be interested in romance as well. the style and music were refreshing, I'd like to see longer more in depth and variant themes from you guys, XIE XIE!

  • OMG this is the most AMAZING video I've ever seen !!!! In only 2 minutes and 52 seconds you have helped me to become fluent in Chinese ! No grammer explinations, no information about tones or pronunciationand what, a total of 10 words of vocabulary ?... You people are GENIUSES! Congratulations on a SUPERBE video !!!.... NOT ! PS: Oh, and the dufus in the video is WAY over-acting with the facial expressions.

  • How coud this phrases ever come in handy? Please, i going to china for sightseeing not for climbin into bed whith every person!

  • Ugh, my Filipino-Chinese-Spanish brain.

  • you can try the pause button.

  • The video is way to fast. Slow it down.

  • awssom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this video is pointless it's to fast and where's the tone guide's the 4 different tone used in pinyin

  • hi i love you china iam moroccan my old 18 and in my old 20 i speaking 5 franch englich espanich arabic and china i love china merçi

  • @maro767 LOL you don't even speak english

  • one of the best language video i've ever seen, obviously aimed at students it is very easy to pick up

  • Comment removed

  • Wow kiss is not the same word as smell. They just sound similar.

  • @Pwnderer nope they have the same tone in such a sentence mister expert. thumbs down

  • @DarthChrisB I'm impressed that you're faring acceptably with English given your inability to note the difference between "word" and "tone". :)

  • @Pwnderer what?? it took you 2 months to come up with such a nonsense comment?! do you even know what a word is? a word is an array of sounds (with intonation) and not the meaning it expresses. therefore: same sounds with same intonation = SAME WORD!!! so, 'to smell' and 'to kiss' do not sound similar in said sentence, they sound THE SAME and therefor ARE THE SAME WORDS which means the sentence means "i want to kiss you" and "i want to smell you" at the SAME TIME! dito!

  • @DarthChrisB I replied to your comment the day I saw it.

They're written differently and are therefore different words. Unless you think "pear" and "pair" are the same word, this shouldn't be too hard to understand.

  • @Pwnderer wow. this whole argument was related to the spoken language and my first comment was a reply to your "They just sound similar.". And now you try to turn it to your favor by talking about the written word. absolutely ridiculous. i'm not gonna argue any further with an idiot that doesn't even know what he's talking about. bye!

  • @DarthChrisB I said that "kiss is not the same word as smell". You disagreed, claiming that they "ARE THE SAME WORDS". A word constitutes both its spoken and written form. That is why I gave the example of "pear" and "pair", because everybody knows that they sound the same, but are different words.

Saying that the Chinese terms for "kiss" and "smell" are the same word is like claiming that "pear" and "pair" are the same word. Obviously, they are not.

    I'm amazed by your stupidity.

  • cool thanks this was a good vid and usefull

  • OMG~What a fucking video!

  • This background music scares me!

  • ARGH the vid's too fast!!! i had to watch it 5 time just too see how to say thanks and ur welcome!!! gosh -_-

  • lol we sho8uld all speak mandarin chinese then, but it's a very hard language tolearn so we speak english

  • You suck!!!

  • 1:14 dont forget "bai jiu" is "hardshot liquor"

  • 这不是学说中国话,这是泡妞速成第一课。

  • @china0exe

    外國男人都是靠這個才有學習的動力 XD

  • They switched their 'G's and 'Q's.

  • who dumbass made this video?

  • no no no chifanle meiyou means have you eaten rice when i went to the china house i gave a chinese woman a fortune cookie and said chifanle meiyu and she said have i eaten rice?

  • i only know how to read and write, cause after 10 years of not using it, you will forget some of it... i been studying it since nursery till high school... here in our country, but almost all the student their are speaking another language. the only way i really learn was when i was reading comic books and how strict my third year chinese teacher was, who let us write sentence 30plus times before.. i wish after i graduated i was able to study again in china,

  • @awaygirl23 same here, i know what you mean... i was planning after i graduated in college, but.. oh well.. we have the same situation.. if you dont use it, sometimes you forget if not being used for a really long time =( but i think you will recall it again if you watched show with subtitle, and read comic books again, and ask elders... i just felt sad that after nursery till high school, you forgot some of it, a big waste of forgetting what you've learned from all those years,

  • @awaygirl23 ops, what i really meant to say was, its sad to forget them, not just for you, but for me as well... but if ever i was able to go to china to study the language, we might be back from being a beginner student again, thats what my high school classmate told me, what more to us who wasnt able to used it for long time now... but you can practice it again, like what i will do.. i also envy the white guy who was spealing chinese in another video...

  • @mucik lol, yeah, i got what you mean, my parents speaks in many languge better than i do,but they speak to me in another chinese language. so i kind of combined all of them sometimes, i do it through reading, & at school.i had a hint from where ur from, hahaha. anyway, yeah, tnx for the advice. i just wished to study abroad to china for a few months,so i can learn and recall it..=( yea, i saw that other video. damn,! his a good speaker. wish it was me.but i guess his in china for a long time

  • theres a guy in our class room and he chinese but i cant speek to him to him cuz he only same language so i was like screw that and then he told me exactly (wo xi huan ni) so until i saw this video he likes me iwtch i wanna go out with him witch was soo cute to say that to me!!!! OMG i just cant belive it!!! thanks for the video it really helped if want to know what kind am i? im Philipina and i come from the Philipines thanks ^_^ :p

  • I'm going to China this summer, but to be honest I find the language really complicated o-o

  • I like chinese more than japanese...Japanese sounds all made up of long words, whereas I find chinese as nice and dissected and easy to learn...

Or is it just me because of I haven't learned japanese?

  • @Chameleonardodavinci i thnk it jst depends on people,, i find japanese easy cz i already hve an idea on what its basic structure is,, and japanese isnt really made up of long word, lol

    it jst looks like it

like their "i love you" is jst one word "aishiteru"

    the thng thats making it long are the add ons on the root word, equal to -ing , -er, -est, ectect in english....im makng ths complicated am i ^^;;;

  • @Chameleonardodavinci in reality, and english speaker, japanese would be easier to learn. the syllables are much more simple, and the tones are easier to pronounce(for english speakers, as i said) the reason you think japanese is made up of "long words" ,as you put it, it because of the speed people normally talk in japan(that is because the speach would go on forever speaking at an english pace.) look into it :) both Chinese and japanese are fun to learn ^-^

  • They certainly are. :) I'm planning on learning Chinese when I get to High School next year and I already taught myself a bit of Japanese. :D

  • @Chameleonardodavinci

After you've learned a little bit of Chinese, you will find out how damn hard it is:)

  • cant wait to go there

  • basically a guide to get laid in china

  • Wo xihuan lai ge mama x)

  • the pinyin is also very strange. I know there are different ways of writing it, but "bu kuh qi"? I have never seen that one before.

@ supersinc800: of course you're right with the 四声 and the difference of the pronunciation, but for us foreigners it's pretty hard to remember them all. Therefore it's a good way that the context can clearify some issues.

  • this persons chinese in the video sucks. if your gonna make an educational video on chinese, at least speak with correct tones and pronunciations. Wen does not both mean kiss and smell, and you dont tell from context. you can tell the difference between the tones.

  • I think you lack knowledge in Chinese. Her pronounciation is perfect You might have learned Chinese in a different area, or you just suck at chinese. This video is obviously for travellers so they're not too familiar with tones.

  • at 0:37 she says ni jiao shen me ming ZHI. and it should be zi. I am not a native speaker but i have never heard any native speaker say that.

  • that's what I thought too when I first heard mainland china's chinese. I studied chinese in Taiwan for 3 months and they pronounce 就 as "jou" and the chinese pronounce it as "jiyuu"

you have to remember that chinese is extremely varied because of the number of regional dialects/differences.

  • wo xihuan niunai :]

  • wo3 dou1 xi3 huan1 he1 niu2 nai3 :P

  • @molfoy lol :)

  • hehe..hihi, Iknowimreal..

  • @molfoy lol hi :)

  • HAHAHAH! ni zhen piao liang means "you are very pretty!", not "you are wonderful!" this is hilarious!!!!=D wo xiang wen ni. i wanna smell you!!

  • If you learn Mandarin because you love Chinese culture (not because of business opportunity), then this language won't help you to glimpse the East Asian Culture.

Do you know why there are so many RRRRR at the back in Mandarin. Because It is heavily influenced by the Mongolian. You even get more Chinese culture from learning Japanese, no kidding!

  • One factor that makes "dialects" in China under more danger is writing in "dialect" isn't acceptable. I give you an analog - It is like an Englishman can't write in English and he has to write in French. If you write in English, you are thought to be uneducated and low class.

I don't hate Mandarin itself. I hate the aggressive Mandarin promotion policy that kills off the diversity and culture of China,

  • The status of "dialect" is given is because of political concern - one united China. Chinese people believe that they are of "same race speaking same language", so they can't accept the fact that unintelligible "dialect" is called a language. The Chinese character is like latin alphabet and "dialects" of China is like European languages and difference b/w each other can be like English and French with major grammatical and pronunciation differences.

  • bu ke qi* lol BU KUH QI xD

  • Chinese isn't a language. in term of language, China is like Europe where you can't find a language called European. . However, due to "one china", regional languages are not allowed to be called as "language" even thought their differences between each other is very great - much greater than differences between French/Spanish/Portuguese or English/German...

What you present in this video is Mandarin.

Cantonese, Hakka, Shanghaiese, Sichuanese and Hokkien are also Chinese languages.
