  • Is it hard to find these studebaker trucks and to find parts for them?

  • Called a "Whatoff Expando" made by Whatofff Manufacturing Co. in Ames, Iowa.

  • This one is not a Whatoff, it was a special order made for Studebaker by Elkhart Boiler Works in Elkhart, IN with 50 others to fill an order for Detroiter Moble Homes. May of had something to do with the falling out between Studebaker and Vern Whatoff. I got this information from Jim Huntoon, the dealer in Alma, MI that sold the 51 trucks new. This truck was shipped to Daggett, CA for $3506.00. I learned all this after posting the video. Thanks for your reply.

  • Wow! I can certainly see where that might have had something to do with the falling out with Whatoff!

I was in truck sales for many years and had quite a number of trailer-toter customers.
