  • i was told i can not dry shoot my .22 revolver and 9mm derringer. how do i know what i can dry fire?

  • I have no idea why you were told you could not dry fire the 9mm , it is usually safe to dry fire any center fire pistol or rifle, the only exception might be if it were really old but then their would be no need to dry fire because you would not shoot it either. The 22 is a rim fire you do not dry fire because the firing pin acutely will strike the rim of the cylinder when empty and cause it to break.

  • @bitcheznhos You can practice dry firing your .22 revolver by putting empty shells back into the cylinder, It helps to turn them a little every time you dry fire on the rim so it will cushion the firing pin properly :-j
