According to Mormons - God is a "physical being" who resides on a distant planet.
Not sure what is scarier, that this religion believes this or that there are actual followers who accept this as a fundamental truth of their faith. Idiocity knows no limit.
And again could you ppl tell me why you wear magic underwear?
Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
If he could be transported back to the 1840s would Shawn have defended Joseph Smith the Prophet of the Restoration against mobs that came to drag him out of his house ?
@mollymu1 "If he could be transported back to the 1840s would Shawn have defended Joseph Smith the Prophet of the Restoration against mobs that came to drag him out of his house ?" Would you have?
Joseph Smith taught that the holy spirit only visits you and doesnt stay. Joseph Smith taught that Jesus will come some day, but he is already here. The teachings lead people the wrong direction. God said in Galatians that we are "nothing". LDS teaching is to "Be all you can be" which fits with there doctrine of being a God someday. Which is the reason satan is a fallen angel.
Christ didn't say just believe he gave him something to go and do "sell all that you have and give it to the poor" was his response. We can not go through life ignoring or disregarding God's word and expect to be saved. Parable of the ten virgins. We must do all we can and then rely on Christ's mercy and grace to save us and be washed clean through his blood so that we can live with God again. Neither faith nor works alone can save us they are a package deal
Shawn Satan and his followers believe in Jesus Christ. The bible teaches that faith w/o works is dead. Revelations teaches that we will be judged by our works. Mormons believe we are saved by Grace after all we can do. All we can do alone will not save us only in and through the atonement of Jesus Christ can anyone hope for salvation. But God didn't give us commandments just for fun. Christ said if ye love me keep my commandments. When the rich man asked Christ what he lacked to enter God
“So why did Joseph Smith say the Book of Mormon is the keystone of LDS religion and not the Bible? Because the Book of Mormon is the primary means of proving the LDS Church is true. Every other Christian church already has the Bible, and proving the Bible is true doesn’t help you decide whether to join the Catholic church or the Baptist church.”
Joseph Smith said “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.” ... REALLY?
Mormons believe the Bible is true insofar as it's been translated correctly. The Book of Mormon has been changed hundreds of times, as a point in fact.. . . So even by their own rule, the Book of Mormon is unreliable.
Watch on You tube: Craig Criddle on Who really wrote the BOM? Also.. go to UTLM dot Org for real information...
testskriftene or the guy uploading this I just want to know why did Christ perform miracles, help and serve people? Where does it simply say; hey i believe that you will save me so ill trust and have faith that you will but Ill brake a few of the things you said just because well its easier to work at coming towards you, then you coming all the way to save me.
what are the point of the countless commandments throughout the bible if "works" don't matter??? He is missing the point. yes of course none of us are perfect so we need help overcoming sin(via Christ's atonement and repentance(oh wait you need to "works" to repent:)) so, clearly none of us can do it our-self. However, men will be judged by their "works" and their obedience to the commandments of God.....not by just saying i believe.....
2 Cor 12:9-11. The L.D.S are so puffed up in their own pride they have trouble coming to know the real Jesus's teaching's. How can anyone say I trust, worship, love, Jesus then follow a man (who's own church history proves was a liar ) away from the Cross thinking, I wonder why joesph would concern himself with a hotel dealing's as doctrine. And bost his work's Greater than even Christ's? utlm.org escape his bondage and return to Christ with a broken heart for what they call gospel is no gospel
I don't see how Mormons are missing the picture here. They keep wanting to say, "Okay, now that I have accepted Jesus I must be a good person, I must do this and this and this and this"..and the list goes on. Real LDS go farther, saying you must be baptized by a certain person, you must be sealed into the temple, the laying of the hands, and the list goes on. All you need to do is accept the blood of Christ, like the robber on the cross next to Jesus. That man will be with the Lord in heaven.
@gunslingerroy..apparently trusts the words of Paul, etc, more than the words of Christ. Christ's life & his words were about all about conduct. Everytime He was asked, "What must I DO...? "He NEVER once said "ONLY BELIEVE!" HE even said that we would be rewarded according to our works. Mormons do not believe that works save them. They simply believe that faith in Jesus & works of faith are inseparably connected & thus part of what Christ expects of them. Mormons believe & trust (in) THE Christ.
@batterdown If the Christ is the focus of the L.D.S church why must you first believe on Joesph Smith to lead you to Him? By definitiion your breaking His First Comandment. And Christ did say go and sin no more.
Can you do it? So what would be , the first and greatest sin ? God, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit ? Or Joesph, God, . Jesus Christ.Did His Work that matter's, I have faith in that . Matt 11:28-30.Do you work for rewards or Him?Christian's still die for Him, and you think Home teaching # 1
@pappyforyou would have you believe LDS must first believe in J.Smith. THIS IS TERRIBLY FALSE! We must believe in Jesus Christ to be saved!! Christ simply worked thru Joseph as he did with Old T. prophets & N.T. apostles...the same yesterday, today & forever. The other comments are fairly incomprehensible & I invite his clarification. Otherwise, Christ, in the N.T, told us things we MUST do to be saved & get to Heaven. Let's not forget those words & remember,He will reward according to our works
@batterdown please refer us to this doctrine that say's you can be baptised without a testamony of Joesph Smith. And be mormon. Your Brigham Young said you need Joesph's permission to enter through the gate's. You call Christ your elder bro and believe he came to set the work for Joe, utlm.org learn about your real prophet.
You need to go to the Lord for some answer's, but not about a book that lead's you from God's Word being true.
But about who you worship, 1st Cor 1:17:18. God Bless.
I did not have a testimony of J.S. when I was baptized 38 years ago.
The scriptures say that we are sons of God...it is not a huge leap to consider Christ as a brother, but in so doing we do not wish to minimize in the least His greatest mission for all mankind.
I have read utlm & am not impressed. Obviously, they don't like the church and are "nay"-sayers.
Another TERRIBLY FALSE thing: The BoM does not lead away from the Bible...it verifies & clarifies & edifies.
@famousbum says "that's not true" I would be happy to respond if I new what is "not true". If "famous" would give some support for the claim that would also be nice. At least, I can then answer in a subjective way. Thanks, God bless.
@1kaitae -- I am not quite sure to what you are referring that I wrote in my comments that contradicts the Bible. If you could be specific I would more than happy to answer & clarify the confusion for you. God bless.
@1kaitae The Bible, along w/ the BoM, teaches that faith, grace, & conduct (works) are inseparably connected & that during the judgment all men will receive their eternal reward according to their works. Christ teaches us to be the best that we can be. But, we are also taught that because we have all sinned & come short of the glory of God, that we MUST have & believe in Him & His grace in order to enter into a Heavenly reward. We rely on Him & do our best; He does the rest. Praise Jesus.
@batterdown please refer us to this doctrine.( Let's not forget those words & remember,He will reward according to our works) Where Christ say's your salvation requires these work's. Your confusing the Bema seat(reward's) with Salvation.
Again I ask you who is going recieve a greater reward. The litte Chrsitian boy who died rather than deny Christ. Or you because you did your home teaching ? there are Christian's dieng everyday in Chrsit's name. a mormon would rather fight back!Christ like?
@pappyforyou Christ lists several MUST-DOs in order to "get to heaven"/"be saved": "be born again (spirit/water); be baptized; do will of the Father; keep law/commandments; repent; eat flesh/blood; be converted as little children". He NEVER said "Believe ONLY". Those are "the words we should not forget & always remember". I think His words & His requirements are important, too. If we don't believe HIM, then we can't say we are Christian & are doomed to miss the mark that He has set for us.
@batterdown .Mark 7:6-16 the L.D.s are not really sure what their own doctrine is, or there is a lot of confusion.among the people!? Perhap's it's because they are not as sound in their doctrines as they would have you believe.. Matt 6:19:20, Proverb's 6 6:13 Christ=Salvation=Grace=Rewards in Heaven those who have been born again know this and quit patting themselves on the back.(worthy?) And start pointing to the Cross not the man Joesph Smith or Thomas Monson . Mark 12 10:11,

I'm waiting for that doctrine still. Person who claim's to be a Mormon without a testamony in his 1st prophet! ? I will admitt I could have worded my statement better. joesph doesn't have to be 1st, Missoinaries do bring up Christ's name and mention But 1st before you can be baptised L.D.S you need a testamony of Joesph Smith. Who's gospel came from another angel, Gal 1:-24 2.. Cor 12:9 you claim Chrsit but follow a man with a hidden past. Did David hide his sin from the world/!

@batterdown John 3:4-8 John 3 10-21, Water baptism(birth) then Spirit (baptism by fire when He choose's you not you choose Him, 1 Cor 1:17:18. You even denied needing a testamony of Joesph Smith's teaching to be a mormon. You have to have a testamony of him (joe) and his teaching's, his church, his doctrine of salvation. otherwise, you can't be baptised a mormon. I'm not lieing your just trying to get people to doubt Christ is enough and that you have to earn a free gift.. Roman's 1:21-23
@batterdown There is no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith as a prophet of God (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, p. 188). Sounds like anyone who died before Joe showed up is not going to be saved. NO SALVATION without god Joe
@batterdown Joseph was a liar and everyone but u ppl want to admit it .. Why would God wait soo long to finaly get it right and then go against what the Bible says? you ppl are lost and are NOT Christians and never will be unless u leave the LDS church and believe in the 1 true God of the Bible and throw away that book of mormon and get out of that cult and stop believing that u will become a god that is 100% blastphemy
You said you don't need Joesph smith? Your following what he claim's is the plan of salvation. And it goes against what the
Bible say's. Baptised 33 year ago? Without a prophet Joesph Smith? People get EX'd for not having faith in Joesph, That's common knowledge and yet you will lie for the Lord. WHY? Joesph said Satan's plan was to bring all home. What is your church claiming their work's are doing? Even the dead jew's (chosen people) killed in the holocost. utlm.org don't lie read
CS Lewis had great things to say on this subject in Mere Christianity. And as a Mormon, I agree with Lewis100%. This guy can't take works away from salvation. He is a false teacher to do so.
More on Faith-V-Works? ok! Philippians 4:9 "Those things which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, DO: and the God of Peace shall be with You"!!! Sounds Like 1st Believe(Faith), 2nd Do(Works)as Jesus did, 3 Peace(Grace/Exaltation)shall be your reward! All is not lost forever ExMormonAgains, Yet! Repeat after me! The serpent beguiled Me, The serpent beguiled Me! "The serpent beguiled Me!
@TheRokit76 Yes, the serpent beguiled you indeed! However, all is not lost. Corinthians 11:13-15 "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an ANGEL OF LIGHT. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works." I hope your works are enough to ensure your salvation! Good Luck!
Is Jesus as God is? Philippians 2:9&10 "Wherefore God also hath Highly Exalted Him, and Given Him a name(Temple?)which is above every name. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in Earth, and things under the Earth"! Hmmm...Sounds like God made Him a God!
You bornagainians bash Mormons because the Church preaches your eternal reward for living a life of Faith and Service is to return to live w/The Father forever, Inherit All that The Father hath and become As God is! I.E. Become "Godlike"! Didn't Jesus do EXACTLY THAT???
Jesus is the only begotten of The Father born to a virgin mother! He has the power to lay down His life and to overcome Death! Has Jesus(Once Mortal/Now Devine)Not inherrited all that The Father Hath? Is He not The King of Kings? Did He not pass His Mortal test? Resist temptation, Love God and live a Life of Service? Has He not become As God Is???
Faith w/out works is dead, I know, been said before! How about 1st Cor, 15:58 "Therefore, my beloved bretheren, be steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the "Work" of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord"!
Read James Chapter 2, Can a man be saved by faith alone, no... Faith without works is dead. It is not enough to say I believe, without showing you believe. It is by a man's works combined with his faith that make the act whole or complete. Faith is what pushes a person to act. How can we know what God wants of us, if we don't know God? So that is what we must do, exercise our faith in Christ, learn of Him, show our faith by our actions (works), forsake our sins and we will find Him.
@jamescgale Id he a fool or are you ?,, your church is being run by masons !! do you think that Mountain meadows Massacre just happened to be on the mason and Egyptian new Year after washing it out for five days to attack ? 9/11 1857 ? I can provide many examples you have just not looked and as a result think others the fool, GO STUDY !!
Once Jesus saves us the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in us to enable us to live for Him, being baptized doesn't save us, it is the first act love towards God for saving us and allows the Holy Spirit to begin to work in us to live for Him alone and turn from sin. Justification- Sanctification-Glorification
The problem is that him teaching that faith alone without works is all that's needed for salvation. I don't believe that that's true. If you look in ACTS, one of the apostles said Repent and be baptised everyone of you in the name of the lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. Therefore, it takes a physical act on our part. Now, ofcourse it is God's power, but it is our willingeness to make a move 1st. Believe me, repent means to go the other way.

How can an act be save it be a thought at the first place?? Does an act a result of a thought?? If we believe than we act upon what we believe right?? Thanks ...
If you have a realationship with the father & believe Jesus is your saviour the by all means you are saved..READ YOUR BIBLE The truth lies in Gods word not in mens doctrine..=)
Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter Holiday. May all of your lives be blessed on this day in which we commemorate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior. My we always remember Him who is Risen.
@stevejames1012 Salvation is the forgiveness of sin and deliverance of the sinner from damnation. It is a free gift received by God's grace (Eph. 2:8; Rom. 6:23) and cannot be earned (Rom. 11:6).
Temple rites are littered throughout the scriptures. Through a decent study of the old testament, one can understand that these Temple ordinances are neccesary for salvation and are indeed, nothing new.

@stevejames1012 oh and..... romans 4: 4-16, and.... Gal 2:21... " I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain."
@jb I enjoy these scriptures and thanks for sending them to me. Again I agree that Christ's grace is a gift. Concerning Rom. 4:15 that scriptures actually seems to specify that works are neccesary. All things need opposition.
The common themes of these scriptures are that 1) they are all in a small section of the NT, 2) they are epsitles to very specific groups,
@stevejames1012 oh and..... romans 4: 4-16, and.... Gal 2:21... " I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain."
All I have to say is in the bible it says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God" Ephesians 2:8. That verse right htere proves all mormonism wrong.
@jbuzzell70 the bible also says, "faith, if it hath not works is dead" James 2:17
In that same book we read " be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves" James 1:22. In one of the shorter book s of the new testament, there are two examples of the faith vs works paradox.
@jbuzzell70 I agree. But it's not like all of the sudden I've had a change of heart and will always follow God's will. We experience a change of heart but need to keep striving to follow His will. That's why we need faith and works. The two are synonimus (please excuse my poor spelling). With more works comes more faith and with more faith come more works.
@jbuzz We believe that Christ saves us. But we must come unto Him. He hwas repeatedly laid out the pattern for us to follow so that we may come unto Him and be saved.
It's like drowning in the ocean. Christ not only throughs us the rope, He shows us how to use it and pulls us in on the rope. however, if we don't grab that rope then we will drown.
Abraham believed and trusted the Lord in faith as well as through action too hence when his faith was tested by God when instructed to sacrifice Isaac and he fully obeyed without question or complaint with Issac ready to obey as well and that is also why he was found to be righteous in the eyes of God. It's neither faith or works alone it's loving and trusting God first above all else and secondly loving others as yourself which within that true faith & works will come and show.
very nice poem of words, I really like what you have said, But my foundation is built on solid granite and all trust in the Savior in whom I love with every fiber of my being.
A little faith in God is worth far more than a lot of faith in a false prophet.
A gram of faith in God will grow into a great reward. Your house will still be built on a good foundation.
A ton of faith in falsehood will be like having lead in the pipes of your house, asbestos in your insulation. IN the end you will be poisoned to death.
But at the same time grace doesnt mean your allowed to have a good old sinning time either. alot of yall are big on the word work.get it in your minds and understand you cant work meaning a bunch of religious acts to get to heaven. But Jesus himself said he will reward us of our works their ya happy.U reap what you sow simple aint it
You see Mormons feel like their in debt with God so they feel like they have to be holier than thou. If we can get into heaven by works then who gets the glory? All Abraham had to do is believe and trust God and it was counted as righteousness. Its about relationship not religion
I agree what the guy is saying. But at the same time the Bible says every man must work out his own soul salvation. True enough you cant work your way into heaven but only through the Lord. But be not decieved God is not mocked everyman shall reap what they sow. You cant earn God's love for when we were yet sinners he loved us
All I have to say is in the bible it says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God" Ephesians 2:8. That verse right htere proves all mormonism wrong.
100% accurate that sums it all up right their Amen! People and their theology and holier than thou attitudes make it hard for people to get to God its so simple it doesnt take a rocket scientist.Trust God and study his word the answer is in the book
@jbuzzell70 We must understand that no man will ever deserve God's grace. But at the same time, no man will grow if he does not do works. Our goal is for our confidence to wax strong in God's pressence.
@jbuzz you keep repeating this scripture, but this is only one verse, in one book, of one testament. It's like playing one key on a piano again and again. Sure it's very beautiful. But if we focus only on key then we miss the whole song.
@stevejames1012 Very beautiful analogy you gave. The one key on the piano. I happen to be a musician, but am also a believer in Christ. Another extension of your analogy could be an orchestra playing under the direction of a music director or composer. There is only one way to play a symphony correctly, in unison particularly, and Jesus Christ is the music diretor, we must follow the score he gave us, but many are missing the notes in the score. They must be corrected.
Sean's mission is not to convert LDS but to demean and destroy which will never happen. Therefore, he is doing the work of the devil. Furthermore, the LDS faith has borne the name of Jesus Christ since the 1830's. The Book of Mormon, published in 1830, has as many references to Jesus as it does today. We are nothing without Him. False accusations across the board... Be a true Christian, Sean, and learn to love ALL of God's children. Your outward appearance is very transparent.
Sean is wrong. LDS men and women CAN enter the highest level of glory without being sealed in the temple here on earth. There are many members of the LDS church who are born, live, and die without marriage due to no fault of their own. They are not denied anything if they have faith in Christ and keep His commandments. Sean may have been LDS at one point in his life but it is evident that he never understood the doctrine the way it actually exists.
"But we are all like an unclean thing, and all of our righteousnesses are like filthy rags" (Isa. 64:6) ... Your "Works" mean nothing when compared to what God did on a hill outside Jerusalem ... try to "Outwork" that and you will fail .. try to add something to that and you will fail .. Trying to Work your way into Heaven is a certain fail .. Try keeping the Levitical Laws and you will fail .. try anything besides accepting Christ's sacrificial death and you will fail if you are seeking Heaven.
Salvation is not complicated. Sinful man strives to convolute the whole process and make it unattainable except for a select few. The Lord is just the opposite, He keeps it on the bottom shelf, where it belongs.
she has "her faith in Jesus Christ" and that means doing her best, and being good and so on... She has no clue how big a contradiction that is! How can your faith be in Jesus, yet you say "I'm doing my best" and that's your assurance of salvation? That's like saying to the guy on a boat that just rescued you from drowning "gee, I sure am glad you were there to coach me in how not to drown" Jesus is either the savior, or we are. There is no middle ground
Shawn has an ankle deep understanding of the gospel and particularly the Church. You won't see him put anyone on that has a deep understanding of the Church. I hope he is getting paid well because that will be his only reward for his foolishness
This just shows that you don't want to see the truth. He does everything to encourage LDS to call in, so much so that they put them on first before non LDS. His reward is that he knows Christ and the relationship he has with him isn't corrupted by other men.
Really, go to Google and type in this search term: Anti Anti-Mormons: Shawn McCraney: Still Ducking. This will take you to an article by a knowledgeable LDS person who addresses my point. I doubt you are a call screener for Mccraney so you really have no idea what really goes on. Shawn is free to believe as he likes but his virulent anti Mormon attitude is not helpful and really quite desperate. LDS don't do this, why do you support this sort of drivel? I say to you, good bye
@Rasurusan Mormons follow the teachings of Joseph Smith, not the gospel of Christ. In the bible, we are giving a caution, "that if any man preach another gospel other than the one we preached..." which is important for all men to know. The Mormon doctrine is so much based on fictionalized stories and false beliefs. Mormonism is not the only plagiaristic cult, there's also Muslim Al Qu'ran, Catholism, Christian Hate Groups, and Jehovah Witnesses to name a few.
State what he has said that is false. He states facts. Just because you don't like the facts and choose to shut your eyes doesn't make it false. Like Shawn says, research it for yourself and you'll find the real truth.
Shawn is an omitter. He omits that piece of information that would neutralize his sensational claim. Like in this case, that being born again of water and spirit (baptism and conversion) is all you need to attain to the Kingdom of God, the HIGHEST Kingdom of God. That's the fact, a fact that was LOST on you as you listened to him and gave this video presumably, a five star?
You're making assumptions that are not true. Shawn didn't give me the idea that priesthood and temple ordinances are necessary to obtain the celestial kingdom, the LDS church did. Show me in church doctrine that baptism is the ONLY thing necessary for the celestial kingdom. I've never seen that.
D&C 76 outlines the three degrees of glory. The difference between the Terrestrial and the Celestial is that those who are heirs of the Terrestrial are good and honorable people, believers of Christ, but who were blinded by the craftiness of men, and did not receive baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ because they maintained it was not necessary. That's just disobedience, really, and that's why they won't be in the Celestial. They decided they knew better than God what was right.
That chapter in James is talking about faith not works. it's saying if you have faith then you will do good work. it's not saying good works is a requirement to get you into heaven. I'm not suggesting that keeping the commandments aren't necessary, but I believe Jesus will decide if we get into heaven or not, not what's done in any LDS temple.
Christ said if your Not married by him (sealed) it doesn't last. Where do we do sealings? only in Temples. By whome? only by Priesthood Authority. Its just good common sense. (To some)
Faith without works is dead. It takes a combination of grace faith and works.
Works is not the correct word to use. We all sin and must show a turning away from that sin. Eternal life is achieved by faith in Jesus Christ as Lord followed by repentance. A turning away from sin. Being born again into the body of Christ. Knowing GODs word, reading GODs word, living GODs word. A "new creature' in christ.
Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
"Born again" into the body of Christ is the only way into the kingdom of GOD! I made a video on what this means! You need to be a new creature in Christ.
Read, believe, know and live the entire word of GOD! The word "works" is more like a verb. It is what you have done or are doing. Seeking out things to do. Performing good works is something that happens as you live the word of GOD.
You should live the word of GOD, turning completely away from sin!!
That's a position that is not defensible against what Jesus said and taught. He said that except a man be born again of the water and of the spirit, he shall not enter into the kingdom of God.
How can you be born again of the spirit? Conversion.
How can you be born again of the water? Baptism.
They BOTH are necessary, and one is works, isn't it?
Even "Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mothers womb, and be born? "
indicating that the CONTEXT of this conversation with the Savior had to do with being born AGAIN, not talking about our original birth by water. Baptism is the second birth by water. Jesus did it.
At least he's admitting the Church hasn't changed, policy or otherwise. That's a contradiction from what he claimed in another vid I watched from him.
Shawn need to know that ALL you NEED to get into the Celestial Kingdom is BAPTISM. Being in the Celestial Kingdom is where God the Father dwells. Its a pretty special place :)
The temple ordinances are choices that are offered to ALL, if not in this life, then in the Spirit World OR in the 1000 year Millennium itself when Christ reigns on the earth. ALL will get the chance to say YES or NO.
For Shawn to portray this as the temple keeps people out is ridiculous. He CHOOSES to stay out.
>>Shawn need to know that ALL you NEED to get into the Celestial Kingdom is BAPTISM.
That's not LDS doctrine. You need the priesthood, temple marriage, etc, bla bla bla. What you don't need is to be reborn through Jesus Christ, according to the so called church.
So using that type of common sense. Baptism only. You're the owner of a business, and you decide to hire me. If I will come and contract out for you, you will reward me. So I contract out with you, but I never do any work. I never follow thru on my end. I never even come to your job sites.. You going to pay me my reward?
No man would. Neither would the Savior. You should learn more about the LDS church in the right spirit my friend.
That's incorrect, what you say. You ONLY need the baptism ordinance to get to heaven (Celesial Kingdom), just as Jesus taught it, that unless you are born again of water AND the spirit (conversion) you will not get into the kingdom of God.
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
The priesthood and temple offer exaltation, which means children. But faith and baptism gets you heaven.
There's no debate. The LDS church believes that it is a combination of Grace, faith and works.
#
1 Thes. 1: 3 3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
You don't beat rob and murder someone and just because you say you "believe Christ and are saved", you will be rewarded as such. Whats the big debate here? faith and works and Gods grace is common sense.
Faith and Works are two sides of the same coin. You can't get rid of faith and have spiritually fruitful works. You can't get rid of works and then imagine you have faith. They work hand in hand.
You need a combo of grace faith and works. All the faith in the world wont save you if you continually fight against Christ. It's Just plain Common sense.... for most people.
What i think is common sense probably doesn't make sense to you then. But trust me BigDumOx. There's a special place in heaven for you. I promise you that.
What you think is common sense doesn't matter. What matters is what the Bible says, and it says we're saved by the grade of God. It cannot be by both grade and works, they are completely separate.
But of course you have to resort to insulting people by calling them dumb. I hope that makes you feel better about believing false additions to the Bible.
Oh My Bad. I'm sorry. I see that your Name is BigtallOx not BigDumbOx. I was in a hurry b4. But then you typed Grade in stead of grace..and you did it twice! lol. So i have to give you a D for a grade. Then you kept mouthing off so I give you an F now for popn a tude.
AntiChrists have bad Attitudes tho. So I forgive you.
A christian forgiving is just plain common sense tho. B'Cuz I believe in the bible. (As far as it is translated correctly.
Yeah, she believes that we are saved by grace after all we can do. Even Jesus taught this when he said:
John 14: 15, 23 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Yet we see so MANY of christian faith who sin with abandon, and chalk it all up to the grace of Christ, willfully sinning and disregarding Jesus' teachings.
State what he is mistaken about? It won't fit here.
But in a nutshell, he is mistaken about LDS thinking they are working their way to heaven. I did a video on that one.
watch?v=OIHyiOLERN0
I made that video a year ago in response to Shawn's nonsense that LDS believe in works. No we don't. We believe in Christ. We believe He said that works matter. We believe He said If ye love me, keep my commandments. We believe his disciple James who said faith without works is dead, show me works.

Joseph Smith taught that the holy spirit only visits you and doesnt stay. Joseph Smith taught that Jesus will come some day, but he is already here. The teachings lead people the wrong direction. God said in Galatians that we are "nothing". LDS teaching is to "Be all you can be" which fits with there doctrine of being a God someday. Which is the reason satan is a fallen angel.

No Shawn, we don't work toward to Heaven. Things like temple ordinances are about exaltation, not salvation. Those are 2 different things.

James 2:12-24.

Every other Christian church already has the Bible, and proving the Bible is true doesn’t help you decide whether to join the Catholic church or the Baptist church.”

what are the point of the countless commandments throughout the bible if "works" don't matter???

That man will be with the Lord in heaven.
gunslingerroy 1 year ago
@gunslingerroy..apparently trusts the words of Paul, etc, more than the words of Christ. Christ's life & his words were about all about conduct. Everytime He was asked, "What must I DO...? "He NEVER once said "ONLY BELIEVE!" HE even said that we would be rewarded according to our works. Mormons do not believe that works save them. They simply believe that faith in Jesus & works of faith are inseparably connected & thus part of what Christ expects of them. Mormons believe & trust (in) THE Christ.

Christ teaches us to be the best that we can be. But, we are also taught that because we have all sinned & come short of the glory of God, that we MUST have & believe in Him & His grace in order to enter into a Heavenly reward. We rely on Him & do our best; He does the rest. Praise Jesus.

TheRokit76 1 year ago
Read James Chapter 2, Can a man be saved by faith alone, no... Faith without works is dead. It is not enough to say I believe, without showing you believe. It is by a man's works combined with his faith that make the act whole or complete. Faith is what pushes a person to act. How can we know what God wants of us, if we don't know God? So that is what we must do, exercise our faith in Christ, learn of Him, show our faith by our actions (works), forsake our sins and we will find Him.

Being baptized is not a "requirement" for salvation. Because it's said, doesn't mean that it's a requirement...
There are many places where just faith is set out as "required" and no mention of baptism.

All I have to say is in the bible it says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God" Ephesians 2:8. That verse right htere proves all mormonism wrong.
jbuzzell70 2 years ago 2
@jbuzzell70 the bible also says, "faith, if it hath not works is dead" James 2:17
In that same book we read " be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves" James 1:22. In one of the shorter book s of the new testament, there are two examples of the faith vs works paradox.

@stevejames1012 with salvation through Jesus and faith, works come natural.
jbuzzell70 1 year ago
@jbuzzell70 I agree. But it's not like all of the sudden I've had a change of heart and will always follow God's will. We experience a change of heart but need to keep striving to follow His will. That's why we need faith and works. The two are synonimus (please excuse my poor spelling). With more works comes more faith and with more faith come more works.
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@stevejames1012 yeah but, works are Not what is gonna save u
jbuzzell70 1 year ago
@jbuzz We believe that Christ saves us. But we must come unto Him. He hwas repeatedly laid out the pattern for us to follow so that we may come unto Him and be saved.
It's like drowning in the ocean. Christ not only throughs us the rope, He shows us how to use it and pulls us in on the rope. however, if we don't grab that rope then we will drown.
Happy Easter

Abraham believed and trusted the Lord in faith as well as through action too hence when his faith was tested by God when instructed to sacrifice Isaac and he fully obeyed without question or complaint with Issac ready to obey as well and that is also why he was found to be righteous in the eyes of God. It's neither faith or works alone it's loving and trusting God first above all else and secondly loving others as yourself which within that true faith & works will come and show.

Its about relationship not religion
theonlyEYEBROWKING 2 years ago 2
I agree what the guy is saying. But at the same time the Bible says every man must work out his own soul salvation. True enough you cant work your way into heaven but only through the Lord. But be not decieved God is not mocked everyman shall reap what they sow. You cant earn God's love for when we were yet sinners he loved us

@jbuzzell70 We must understand that no man will ever deserve God's grace. But at the same time, no man will grow if he does not do works. Our goal is for our confidence to wax strong in God's pressence.
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@jbuzz you keep repeating this scripture, but this is only one verse, in one book, of one testament. It's like playing one key on a piano again and again. Sure it's very beautiful. But if we focus only on key then we miss the whole song.
stevejames1012 1 year ago

Your outward appearance is very transparent.
uhp100 2 years ago
Any time an individual or a group finds the truth to be demeaning it's time to rethink just what the truth is.
We should "Drink the purple koolaid" was one man's truth
We should "Throw all the Jews into the Gas Chambers" was another man's truth.
Would I be demeaning anyone if I told them that he was wrong?
Would I be wrong to tell them to put the Koolaid down and walk away?
Would I be demeaning anyone?
The "Truth" will be all it takes if a person is listening.
That way nobody gets demeaned.
hammerogod 2 years ago

Try keeping the Levitical Laws and you will fail .. try anything besides accepting Christ's sacrificial death and you will fail if you are seeking Heaven.

she has "her faith in Jesus Christ" and that means doing her best, and being good and so on...

Rasurusan 2 years ago

Rasurusan 2 years ago

BigTallOx 2 years ago
"State what he has said that is false."
Shawn is an omitter. He omits that piece of information that would neutralize his sensational claim. Like in this case, that being born again of water and spirit (baptism and conversion) is all you need to attain to the Kingdom of God, the HIGHEST Kingdom of God. That's the fact, a fact that was LOST on you as you listened to him and gave this video presumably, a five star?
mormonanswerman 2 years ago
You're making assumptions that are not true. Shawn didn't give me the idea that priesthood and temple ordinances are necessary to obtain the celestial kingdom, the LDS church did. Show me in church doctrine that baptism is the ONLY thing necessary for the celestial kingdom. I've never seen that.
BigTallOx 2 years ago
D&C 76 outlines the three degrees of glory. The difference between the Terrestrial and the Celestial is that those who are heirs of the Terrestrial are good and honorable people, believers of Christ, but who were blinded by the craftiness of men, and did not receive baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ because they maintained it was not necessary. That's just disobedience, really, and that's why they won't be in the Celestial. They decided they knew better than God what was right.
mormonanswerman 2 years ago
That chapter in James is talking about faith not works. it's saying if you have faith then you will do good work. it's not saying good works is a requirement to get you into heaven. I'm not suggesting that keeping the commandments aren't necessary, but I believe Jesus will decide if we get into heaven or not, not what's done in any LDS temple.
BigTallOx 2 years ago
Christ said if your Not married by him (sealed) it doesn't last. Where do we do sealings? only in Temples. By whome? only by Priesthood Authority. Its just good common sense. (To some)
Faith without works is dead. It takes a combination of grace faith and works.
haidermann1 2 years ago
Works is not the correct word to use. We all sin and must show a turning away from that sin. Eternal life is achieved by faith in Jesus Christ as Lord followed by repentance. A turning away from sin. Being born again into the body of Christ. Knowing GODs word, reading GODs word, living GODs word. A "new creature' in christ.
Colossians 1:10
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
RaptureOrTribulation 2 years ago 2
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
"Born again" into the body of Christ is the only way into the kingdom of GOD! I made a video on what this means! You need to be a new creature in Christ.

haidermann1 2 years ago
Read, believe, know and live the entire word of GOD! The word "works" is more like a verb. It is what you have done or are doing. Seeking out things to do. Performing good works is something that happens as you live the word of GOD.
You should live the word of GOD, turning completely away from sin!!

haidermann1 2 years ago
That's a position that is not defensible against what Jesus said and taught. He said that except a man be born again of the water and of the spirit, he shall not enter into the kingdom of God.
How can you be born again of the spirit? Conversion.
How can you be born again of the water? Baptism.
They BOTH are necessary, and one is works, isn't it?
mormonanswerman 2 years ago
Water - being born - spirit - God giving a person a NEW birth... Thats the idea - since the flesh is evil - God must give us a new birth
testskriftene 2 years ago
Jesus allowed Himself to be baptized for a reason.
mormonanswerman 2 years ago
Even "Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mothers womb, and be born? "
indicating that the CONTEXT of this conversation with the Savior had to do with being born AGAIN, not talking about our original birth by water. Baptism is the second birth by water. Jesus did it.

He CHOOSES to stay out.
mormonanswerman 2 years ago
What you said is completely true. I am not coerced to pay to go to the temple. I have no recommend because I am slothful.
Not because I am a victim. Shawn uses wolf tactics to feast on the sheep not feed them.
At 2:28 does he actually say working is easier than just saying grace grace, which is harder?
What a tard terd.
haidermann1 2 years ago
>>Shawn need to know that ALL you NEED to get into the Celestial Kingdom is BAPTISM.
That's not LDS doctrine. You need the priesthood, temple marriage, etc, bla bla bla. What you don't need is to be reborn through Jesus Christ, according to the so called church.
BigTallOx 2 years ago
So using that type of common sense. Baptism only. You're the owner of a business, and you decide to hire me. If I will come and contract out for you, you will reward me. So I contract out with you, but I never do any work. I never follow thru on my end. I never even come to your job sites.. You going to pay me my reward?
No man would. Neither would the Savior. You should learn more about the LDS church in the right spirit my friend.
haidermann1 2 years ago
That's incorrect, what you say. You ONLY need the baptism ordinance to get to heaven (Celesial Kingdom), just as Jesus taught it, that unless you are born again of water AND the spirit (conversion) you will not get into the kingdom of God.
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
The priesthood and temple offer exaltation, which means children. But faith and baptism gets you heaven.
mormonanswerman 2 years ago
There's no debate. The LDS church believes that it is a combination of Grace, faith and works.
#
1 Thes. 1: 3 3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
You don't beat rob and murder someone and just because you say you "believe Christ and are saved", you will be rewarded as such. Whats the big debate here? faith and works and Gods grace is common sense.
haidermann1 2 years ago
Faith and Works are two sides of the same coin. You can't get rid of faith and have spiritually fruitful works. You can't get rid of works and then imagine you have faith. They work hand in hand.
ImLDSRU2 2 years ago

Yeah, she believes that we are saved by grace after all we can do. Even Jesus taught this when he said:
John 14: 15, 23 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Yet we see so MANY of christian faith who sin with abandon, and chalk it all up to the grace of Christ, willfully sinning and disregarding Jesus' teachings.

I would of said the same thing...that a person who willfully sin is not truely saved.

the difference is that the sinning believer hates what he has done, while the sinning unbeliever indulges in it without a second thought
