  • why do people buy this? you can get SOOOO much more for the same amount of money

  • jesus all these people in the comments really demeaning the art of DJin.. its so funny.

It seems like its not about having fun and improving yourself anymore its just debating about freaking CDJs, DJ software and crap. I took DJin as a hobby because I have always loved electronic music I remember being a 7-8 and blasting some trance factory CDs in my room!

  • @DKF22 I am prolly as crap as a DJ can be but thats whats inspiring, its knowing your skills and trying to improve yourself.

  • its very simple made software recordbox i really digg it

  • Yeah...whatever. For a fraction of the price of that set I got an NS6 by Numark which is a 4 track controller, Serato Itch which is the shit once it's correctly setup, Ableton Live and a Launchepad. Since all of that is linked I can Dj on 4 decks and drop homemade Beats and Synths from Ableton whenever I fill like it. And really, when you think about it, are CDJ' 2000 really worth 1.5 grand a piece ? I mean come on. They are good but there is nothing that justifies paying this much for it.

  • I don't understand why djs are using cd players still. Mp3 is so much easier and less frustrating to find the songs you want.

  • Is that a tonium pacemaker on the mixer?

  • this is the future. u don't need many equipment to build new beats. 12 inches passes into history. there is new challenge for dj's. today is not enought to play like radio dj. putting new song 1 minute and next. there is milion djs who play like this and they say 'we mix'. u go to the club and listen well-known music with no suprise. this also applies to djs with name or u can say 'brand'. now there is new equipment, new opportunities and djs must show new skills, new definition of mixing.

  • do u need a certain type of computer....i dont wanna buy the gear then figure out i gotta get a new laptop...currently i have a 2008 mac

  • @MarcoFAlfaro a 2008 mac would be perfect ; )

  • @Plamen2007 my dream actually is becoming more reachable now that i know that, im such a rookie/noob with this stuff, hopefully one day ill be good

  • U think he would be using the djm 2000 with those bad boys but he is using a djm 700!

  • i have that usb lol

  • lol quantize. traktor's had that for quite some time now....

  • @jlcool007 this is from 2009...

  • Which USB-Stick does he have?

  • @Miamivice95 I think the Sandisk cruzer

  • Thats a bit of a reach there buddy. Everyone knows it does not actually mix for you. Virtual Dj does as well as crap like mixmeister but pushing two clicks is not far off (which Traktor does do). Doesn't it get boring constantly defending yourself? I did over 60 clubs this past year and its always the same story, "I can do so much more when not having to worry about syncing" but yet they dont do any more than the next guy.

  • @dmasters1986 i dont need to defend myself? im talking about a product here! nit about myself! you tell me you done over 60 clubs this year thats great! seriously thats good but please dont tell me that ,and accuse me of defending myself in the same sentence! "a bit of a reach" when you have been telling everyone here that it "does" infact mix for you! please get your facts straight. you cant do so much more? i guess dennis ferrer and the martinez brothers have been getting wrong all this time!

  • Do they even have a best TT category? I cant seem to find it............... link please!! BTW you DO know its actual people in the industry voting and not DJ mag themselves, correct?

  • @dmasters1986 YT wont let me post the link but they won the 2006 "ultimate turntable award" i bought a pair and the pitch was awful. btw i use up to 4 loops at a time. CDJs wont let me do that although i prefer using my CDJs straight with CDs.traktor in my opinion is not much different! traktor just loads tracks quicker! that is all. as for the sync option? you could just look at the bpms and match them yourself! the sync just does it quicker thats all! makes no difference. its about the music.

  • @bumpyjason I prefer to stick to clubs but its also nice to pay some bills. Nightclubs pay only so much. and with weddings you can charge whatever you are worth.

  • Lastly just as a side note I have no issues keeping my loops in time without the autopilot and if you set your ins & outs properly its really not such a hard feat.

  • I completely agree that its not JUST about beatmatching but I actually pride myself in being able to outperform the guy next to me whilst doing the mixing by hand. I figure having it all is the way to go. Too many times I have hired other DJ's doing a guest spot and their computer fails forcing them to use CD players (or TT's) only.......... yeah doesnt work out well for them. You should be able to be flexible. THAT is the advantage of knowledge.

  • If you place traktor in front of an average person they can be up & running making flawless mixes within 5 mins. Serato.............. yeah not so much. BTW did you know Serato won the DJ Mag Tech Awards Best DJ Software Award?? pretty impressive for a program that "looks like shit" as bumpyjason says, huh?

  • @dmasters1986 god i hate wedding DJs.

  • oh DJ mag? they same mag that voted the Numark TTX1 as the best turntable? please dont crack jokes.

  • oh yes i used traktor today and used the sync option and it was way off! i had to keep pulling it back to where it should have been! like i said before, you should use this software before talking shit about it. and also traktor does not mix for you! it only tries to sync the tracks for you! you might wanna find the definition of "mixing".

  • @pioneerdjsounds are you a filipino??

  • guys i connect the link with my laptop and the cdj 2000!! why don't i get that LINK option in rekordbox???????????

  • i really hate geeks! who cares what the music is played on! its about the music! anyone can mix and beatmatch but try keeping a crowd going all night! you think the crowd care about what your using?

  • Comment removed

  • Dmasters you talk utter bollocks.

  • there is a reason why most of the respected DJ's still use just CDJs... software is gay

  • Damn I would love to get these for my birthday!

  • nass lewp!

  • leave the software to native instrument and keep doing great piece of hardware pioneer ;)

  • "nice loop" haha

  • i found abt u when i was looking up some songs by deadmau5 and im like laid back luke am i just like my name is luke lol

  • I hate the way you mix! You have good songs but your mixing sucks ass.....

  • Thanks laidback luke for some of your playlist. :D

  • Um, what does this software offer that Traktor doesn't?

  • @AClockworkJulian A need for skill

  • what mixer is that

  • @TechFromTheTropics im probably late but is pioneer djm 800

  • what type of Gell does laidback luke use,?xD

  • @pioneerdjsounds does the cdj 350 also have hot cues that you can setup like this? i dont see dedicated buttons for it like the cdj 2000... :(

  • Using laptop with cdjs its absolutely nonsense for me. It makes cdj expensive midi controler.

  • Should I get DJM-2000 or DJM-800 or DJM-900?

  • @foxIIbassoonist well if you have the money go for the 2000's

  • @foxIIbassoonist they are using the djm-700 in the video

  • he plays 192 kbps? i thought djs only play 320 kbps quality?

  • does the software work with windows

  • @Jaffleman52

i will save you the pain... try looking up Traktor Dj software

  • Laidback Luke Is S♥ Cute And Hands♥me¡

  • RIP DJing

  • 3:52 he s aid: this is like cd shi*.ups wrong...cdj-player

  • laidback luke looks stoned lol

  • what happened to live d jaying???

  • What duz it meen to loop??

  • @MrMetal4Life94 why dont you use common sense. but then again looking at your grammar you are only 5 and still on myspace.

  • is that a pacemaker on top of the cdj??

  • @copher1990 No its an external HDD

  • Comment removed

  • What's the name of the song he uses as an example? Vengeance?

    And who's the artist?

    Thanks in advance:)

  • @DieJegermeister Venganza (Felix Cartal Remix) - Lazaro Casanova

  • nize loop!

  • does that mean you can set hot cues for each track? and therefore do u only have like 10 memory banks for all your music collection??

    PLZ REPLY

  • why does it take 3-5 clicks for the software to work, seems laggy

  • To be honest, i'm not big on staring into a computer screen for half the evenin.

  • wait software hmmm i dont think ive seen him use a computer live

  • Rekordbox sets up mp3s or wavs to be read by a USB equipped cdj.

  • Will these cue points work on a USB for the CDJ350?

  • I am going to buy my CDJ 2000's this year, or when a new pare comes out i will buy them instead :D

  • I like how all of the user comments have nothing to do with the actual product itself.

  • JESUS CHRIST... It cost SGD6000 to 9000 to buy a set in Singapore!!!

  • this looks like video footage from a evo or vibrant maybe a hd7 or nexus that have the same lens with a wide lens attachment. jus my guess tho idk

  • @crakmeup The main angle was shot on a Sony HVR-A1 with a .42 wide angle lens.

  • hey man would this cdj work with a computer?

  • @617wichi If you have traktor or other software you can connect your CDJs to the Computer, sure.

But i would recommend getting a 4 channel for that, Pioneer DJM is best.

  • would these cdj's work with traktor

  • at a point in time it was straight vinyls, no laptops or software. but times change. the top djs like luke are using 2-4 cdj2000s and the djm800 with cds. no programs theyve been in the game long enough to do it all live. serato does NOT have an auto sync. if serato was so bad then why is it the club standard? just cuz theres a computer in front of you doesnt make you less of a dj. its about creativity and how you mix. cdjs or tables its preference. so stop bashing. and read up a bit more

  • @JDizzil760 i agree! i love my SL1210s but i have CDJ1000s and love them just as much.

the stuff you can do with them is amazing and coupled with serato or traktor scratch which i prefer,i hardly get any sleep cos i cant stop using it. yeah i agree people need to read up or better still, actually try the stuff out! and i know they will be like "hhmm i likey" happens every time.

  • and yes i guess anybody can be a dj! but they will be a dj in their little bedroom!

  • why do people think that beatmatching is all there is to mixing? fucking annoys me when people think that! just because some software beatmatches, doesn't mean its flawless! and also, yes it will beatmatch but it will not pitch bend for you when the tracks drift! anyone that thinks this software does it all for you, really should use this software because you obviously have no fucking idea.

  • @bumpyjason Clueless............... it is not the only aspect of mixing. Just hands down the most important by far. You are taking out the hardest part why............ because its easy. Traktor users make fun of Virtual Dj users but in the end Serato is the only program not using algortthms or sync. That is except the new Serato program that DOES have sync but what name did they give it......................... SERATO DJ INTRO ha. Basically saying Auto sync is for intro users like, well, umm, U

  • @dmasters1986 "the only aspect and most important part of mixing?" and you have the cheek to call me clueless? "the hardest part"? you still need practice! i use traktor because serato looks like shit! read my previous comments and you will know how i feel about the "sync" option. i only use the sync option to keep all my loops together! i dont need it to put the pitch where i can put it myself. the fact is, djing has gone way beyond beatmatching! you might want to catch up.

  • 192 kbps O_o laidback luke you wouldnt

  • Traktor!!..... I Don't Need To Say More -_-....

  • @marceloflix U may want to try

  • No lol he was saying quantize is new technology FOR Pionner

  • does that work with midi controllers??

  • @nikos4ever1000 Who cares? DJs dont use midi controllers

  • lolz u no hes philipino but ud never actually think it until u hear his accent :P

  • yaaaaah with all these fancy stuff any body now can becaome a dj

  • None of the dudes in this series of vids actually use Pacemakers do they?? There's one sitting on top of the left deck in every vid in this series but I would bet a lot of money that none of them, especially Armin, use one. Thoughts??

  • Are they towersonic stands you have the spearkers/monitors on?

  • Well, this exactly the same thing that traktor has been doing for years now.

In traktor pro you cand set up to 8 Cues and loops on the fly!

This CDJs can be used as midi controllers for traktor pro, cant imagine how crazy this can be :P

  • Mr.Discotramp = Mad beats, check it out!

  • his hands are magical. they make the artwork appear

  • am i the only one but i think cdjays are kind of gay,, i use turntables but whats the benefit of cdjays?

  • @TheXxRoSsXx No no no, you have an entire army of gay turntable fan boys that thinks that all other kinds of djing is fake n gay. And thats the wrong question. The question should be "are there any misbenefits with cdjs"

  • @TheXxRoSsXx with CDJs you dont need to carry crates of vinyls to the club, u can just get a CD book and bring tons of tracks. CDs are easier to replace than vinyls and if its easier to just download the new track you want for like 3 bucks and burn in onto a CD and play it that night. (misbenefit is that now everyone can have the same tracks) Also if ur a producer you can play your new track at the club the same night you finished it and be able to teak it later on based on the crowd response

  • @yourmomonastick CDJs are more expensive to maintain but you can put numerous songs on a CD and instantly go from one to the other and the hot cues and cue points make remixing something live easier to do than with vinyls. Oh yeah..one more thing. People dont buy vinyls anymore so companies are ceasing to produce vinyls so everyone is switching over to CDJs. If you look at any major music festival or event you will see that often times they dont even have turntables, only CDJs.

  • @yourmomonastick yes i see.. i am a turntableist, the whole reason i use turntables is because i can pull off certain scratches and moves that you cant do on a cdj. aren't cdjs just for playing music?

  • @TheXxRoSsXx ...Yes...just like turntables. ..were u expecting them to make you a cake?

  • @TheXxRoSsXx I have both and there are too many benefits to list

  • omggg 192kbps??? That ain't a good DJ

  • @ActionWaction

Don't get me wrong, i'm a big fan of luke

  • what speakers are those?

  • @shayschopp Funktion 1 - F81s

  • Is this a Macbook Pro 13 inch or 15 inch ?

  • @stroiwaagen 13 inch

  • @stroiwaagen 13inch

  • Comment removed

  • @pioneedjsounds gosh Pioneer, you made me wanna be a DJ! I got the rekordbox and some Pioneer headphones. now I got to save money for the real things like the mixer, and the turntables xD

  • @pioneerdjsounds what shirt is he wearing?

  • @stroiwaagen Why do you care?

  • Lol at the 192kbps -.-

  • Quantize, a new technology by pionner? I don't think so

  • @kaspericas "Quantize, a new technology by pionner? I don't think so" .... It is new technology by pioneer, never has the quantizing feature been introduced in a cd player, which is groundbreaking .. I agree quantizing has been out for years, but on DAW's like Logic, Ableton, Reason etc.. .. now we have it on cdjs, now every cd dj will be perfect =)

  • @kaspericas

lol i was confused when he said that too because alot of programs have an auto quantize feature for loops. i think he meant its a new technology for pioneer/cdj/the program

  • @kaspericas if u use ur brain... uploaded september 2009...

  • @neillovestechno dude quantize has been used for years and it definatly wasn't developed by pioneer

  • @kaspericas right, i have first seen it on Ableton i think

  • @kaspericas this video is from 2009 if you didnt see

  • Comment removed

  • omg that thing is so sexy! :O

  • if i cill Batman, can I get thouse?

  • Does this have a USB port so u can use your computer with it so like if u dont wana use cds?

  • @Mr613Techno yes

  • @Mr613Techno if you want to use your computer, most likely the program youre using has it so you plug it into the mixer, whicih is connected to the decks

  • The next level of cd players should have a jack just for a external monitor to see your tracks so no more computers just your hard drive and a monitor.

  • i dont think laidback luke even uses a computer live... he just uses analog equipment such as CDJs and DJM.... he´s my kind of DJ!!

  • @thairese NO!!

  • its this thing better than the new trkator kontrol s4? :o

  • @Thairese The CDJ-2000 & DJM- 2000 look set to become the new industry standard DJ setup. But you're looking at £4500 worth or gear. NI are a still a top manufacturer. Still the 2000 serieas really does piss on most of the competition. The new DJM even has a built in Traktor interface. This gear is SICK!

  • Laidback Luke just made me sleep...he talks so slow

  • @Elepzia he clearly dosent speak good english..

  • Okk i want that so bad now -.-

  • i notice you have a mac,, does this work with a Gateway windows 7 laptop?

  • A lot are saying this isn't dj'ing because you have everything already programed out in advance?? I say BS!!! You still have to perform. I preiview a lot of the tracks I spin and set hot cues also. This is slick, I've already started saving for this type of setup.

  • is that a Pacemaker on the CDJ at 25 sec ??

  • @DJCossie yes, its Pacemaker

  • And if we're not loaded?????

  • laidback luke only uses 192kbps?

  • lol i want pioneer too but it's so fking expensive:(

  • @cookamix its totally worth it. Get it used on ebay? or get an earlier model. 1000s and 2000s are great but I would only recommend buying them if you intend to rent them out or have the money to spare. U can get something like the 800 or even the 400 or 350 (newest model) which all work great (400 and 350 support USB drives too! :-))

  • WHY ALMOST EVERY DJ USES A MAC? PLEASE I'D LIKE TO KNOW!!!!

  • @augsant02 it's the best machine mate!

  • @georgegergi Yeah that's true, but here It's expensive as hell, because of the high taxes. Maybe i'll buy one, but first I'll do a turntable course ^^

  • @augsant02 you can get the macbook, which is the one i've got. and if u live in the states, it costs 999$, pretty cheap for a mac ;)

  • @augsant02 because they're fags, to be honest I don't like it, but instead of telling you go for a Mac or a PC go out an check what you can do with different platforms and then decide, I think the price is just too high for what you get, its more about selling you the brand, you can get the same hardware for much less.

  • @augsant02 more battery life + mac is made for music, photoshop, and movie editing

  • @LOLgerasim Mac is the same as PC... just a different brand. Same insides, so photoshop, music, and video editing works the same on both.

  • @LOLgerasim agree but mac has 10 hours of battery life and if laptop will die when you are in the street party or something where you can't connect your laptop to anything then you are screwed

  • @LOLgerasim If you was playing in a street party how would u power your CDJs if you cant even power your laptop? DUH!

  • lol Laidback luke was using blog downloaded music. hahah

  • what a f*cking hero

  • damn he makes it look easy

  • could you tell me if the cdj 1000 is still sold in the netherlands, because i visited a website where they sell the cdj's, but i can''t find the cdj 1000 anymore?

  • @lullo304

the cdj apparently, might be discontinued theres debate

  • @pioneerdjsounds can you give me pioneer djm 2000 with 2 cdj2000 in5000$

  • Relly good viedeo man thx alot :P

  • x1 kontrol?

  • is that a pacemaker on the left cdj?

  • @simonasmus1 Yes it is!

  • @simonasmus1 yes

  • laidback luke

in my opinion the BEST nickname in the world

  • cdgays

  • big smile on the end xD

  • Nice video, but i ve already seen the most of those RekordBox's functions on VDJ, where you could save on any track up to 10 Cue Points as any playlist. The only way, i think, is that you could not export the Cue Points saved on your tracks to be loaded for example from a USB Stick plugged in any Controller/CD-Player. You've to use the software to read them.

If you have more information, would be happy to get more about it.
