  • You sure did a great job in presenting some of the best scenes. Thanks.

  • i recorded this cause it looked like an interesting movie i have probably watched it at least a dozen times (no exaggeration) this move is epic and has a great story im actually watching it at this moment

  • I read that the original filming was heavily edited and there were some who did not like the more edited version?????

  • Great movie, but Eastwood NEVER speaks about it. It is the last movie he made that did NOT have his control over regarding script etc. He left the studio after this was made as it did not conform to his vision of the movie. Don Rickles often thanks Clint in speaches for his role in this movie.

  • You gotta love this movie.

  • If i am sent to war I would be on the thieve. Fuck that fighting and getting killed. Smoke weed. drink JD and if it aint nailed down nick it.

FUCK FIGHTING FOR CORRUPT GOVERNMENTS MIGHT AS WELL BE CORRUPT AND MAKE SOME MONEY

  • It is by far the best satairical look at WWII EVER....

  • Comment removed

  • this is wen movies were movies //& actors were actors & it werent all about money 1 of the greatest movies

  • This movie WAS AWESOME. ALL-Star CAST LOVED IT

  • clint eastwood in a comedy! epic!

  • One of the greatest war movies EVER created right there with PLATOON...!

    Thank YOU

  • I saw this for the first time back in the mid-70s on the late show when I was around 11 yrs. old. Back then I though that the American sniper up in the tower (final scene) was Larry Hagman, as it indeed looks like him in some shots.

  • always with the negative waves moriarty!always with them negative waves!

  • Alarms clock goes off

    Grabs gold bar "Fir-"

Drops it and grabs radio "FIRE!"

  • A true classic. Loved the entire cast but my favorites were Rickles & O'Connor as Crapgame & Gen. Colt.

  • the film is history :-)!!!

  • (Favorite quote)

    Crapgame-"Hey I found A mine!!"

    Big Joe-"What kind is it?"

    Crapgame-"The Kind that blows up!!!"

  • Even though this is a fictional movie it's still more accurate than the movie Patton which came out the same year.(1970)

  • Pvt. Little Joe: Joe?

    Big Joe: What?

    Pvt. Little Joe: It's Mulligan.

Big Joe: It's Mulligan. What does he want?

Pvt. Little Joe: He says he's sorry.

Big Joe: Sorry son of a bitch.

  • i love this song i grew up with this film just love it .theyve even got the grave diggers wot a line that is lol

  • i love this song i grew up with this film just love it

  • "Sir?" "What is it Barbra?" "Don't call me Barbra." "Well that's your name isn't it?" "It's Babra."

  • Correct assessment alpha18412 your comment maybe more prophet than ever, this film could not be done my the studios without making fools of the characters, combat is absurd enough, no need to make it more absurd...

  • Thanks.. get yourself a bucket of grits!

  • Fantastic movie. Oddball, my hero. No negative waves....

  • I love the music in the start!!!

  • The film was shot in Yugoslavia .. All vehicles were a real WWll except three Tiger I tanks used in the film, were actually ex-Soviet Army T-34 tanks, converted in great detail by specialists of the Yugoslav army for the 1969 movie The Battle of Neretva.

  • @Luka464 Used in Saving PVT Ryan, and Band Of Brothers too.

  • @tmlafrance very famous Tiger..

  • Does oddball know about the tigers!? You bet you're sweet ass he doesn't! Or he'd still be on that funny farm of his! Classic, film is pure magic.

  • @EchanteZ They created classic characters who were not silly stereotypes; that was the magic.

  • @EchanteZ

actually soem absolutely brilliant films came out of the 1970's

  • Saw this when i was 13, now 54, still one of my favourite films, bags of gags, good action. Still watch it twice a year. Telly Savalas is the star as the hardbitten sergeant, Clint is typical Clint, wooden and soppy, he's the same in all his films. Crapgame is great, good character. Still use the gag 'but my hair's still in curlers' when asked to hustle up, always gets a laugh, considering i'm bald as a coot. Classic movie.

  • What is the song called?

  • @MichaelMyers239 burning bridges

  • I need about 60ft of bridge!

  • @MichaelMyers239

It's called "Burning Bridges" by The Mike Curb Congregation. One of the best songs of all time, to compliment one of the best movies of all time, for sure.

    Song's on youtube as well:

    /watch?v=zCjWQHpu3bY

  • five morons pressed the wrong button...must have been the negative waves

  • First time a movie company tried to make a realistic German tank. Plus, one of the best movies EVER!

  • @tmlafrance Czechoslavakia had a lot of WWII leftovers when they made this movie. That's also how they were so realistic in "The Great Escape".Most of them needed work,as in the lead up to the ambush scene where the Kubelvagen looked like it had a plastic windshield in front of the officer riding shotgun.

  • @doughesson i've got a reenacting buddy down in Fla. that has one of the ex Czech Hanomag 251 copies. Seems that it's almost a perfect copy, only a few minor mods put it back to the original Ger design.

  • right over the mother bridge... badabadabump

  • eating cheese, drinking wine, catching some rays...

  • eating cheese, drinking wine, catching some waves...

  • woof woof

  • This movie deserves movie then a 7.5 out of 10. This movie is fantastic. I even forget that this movie was made in the 70's thats how good it is.

  • @dominick136 EXCELLENT FILM

  • Quitessential American film. Private enterprise leads the way every time. Fighting for anything other than gold is almost anathema. ;)

  • Quitessential American film. Private enterprise leads the way every time.

  • you could probably use some armor

  • Favorite scene:

    Oddball: "Its still up!"

Air Corps blasts it to pieces.

    Oddball (deadpan): "No it ain't."

  • Happy 40th anniversary, Kelly's Heroes ( 1970-2010 ). Excellent movie, filled with humour, action, seriousness ( this was World War II after all ), and quality acting.

A change from Saving Private Ryan, which had an idiotic plot, and far too violent scenes. Kelly's Heroes was more balanced.

  • @cytotoxix you cant really take Kelly's heroes too seriously it is a comedy after all.SPR was too "american" for me. But the violent was necesary. Too much american patriot stuff is not.

  • My favorite line-Big Joe, "There's no booze, there's no broads, there's no action".

  • 5:54 now i know where the "police academy films" got the in·cite

  • Kilroy was here!!!

  • @DetroitLove4U UP YOUR'S BABAY -Kilroy

    -----M(O O)M-----

  • Thumbs up for "No booze or broads"

  • Only Clint Eastwood could sit in an American jeep in the middle of a German convoy without immediately attracting attention. Then, when spotted, what does he do? He smirks and floors in the Hell out of there before anyone else knows what's going on.

Great way to start a movie.

  • That theme song still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!!

First saw it in the cinema in about '72, I was 10.

Me and 4 friends hid under the seats after the film and watched it again...3 times!

  • echt guter film

  • you needed to put in oddballs dog imitations

  • Kilroy was here

    Up yours baby!

  • oddball and moriarty are always at it aren' they?:)

  • Love this movie I remember seeing it in 1970

  • "To a New Yorker like you, a hero is some type of weird sandwich" LOL

  • You missed one of the funnest lines in the whole movie, when they were in the mine field & Crapgame finds a mine. "Hey!Hey! I found one!!! "What kind is it?" "The kind that blows up!! How the hell do I know what kind it is!!!"

  • ok, we could go over how many clips were missed in this video or we could just watch the whole movie and realize you can`t do a best of compilation without showing the whole damn thing. R1FIII put their favorites here and I think it`s a fine collection, thanks for uploading

I plan on watching buying this next payday

  • #1 rule of hollywood movies clint eastwood never dies

#2 rule of hollywood movies chuck noris always wins

#3 rule of hollywood movies arnold schwartsinager only dies in terminater nothing else

  • best part 6:26

  • "To a New Yorker like you, a hero is some kind of weird sandwich!"

    AWESOME! I love Oddball, haha

The "Bocage" was a region in France, Normanyd, deep roads between hedge rows that had grown fo centuries, Germans blew utter crap out of Allied tanks caught in the tight roads, sigh

Film is based loosely a real incident, fyi. Later on in the war, a bigger robbery, biggest in history, some folks knocked over the German Reichsbank, got away with iirc, $2 billion in gold!!

  • 2:18 Hey look. You gotta think of us as tourists. I don't want any military information. I just want to know the best hotel, ok ?

9:18 God Almighty. You guys smell like you fell into a dung heap.

9:26 It kind of makes you homesick, don't it ?

  • You also missed:

"It's a wasted trip baby, nobody said anything about locking horns with no Tigahs,

A Tigahs got one weak spot, and that's it's ass, you gotta hit it point blank and you gotta hit it from behind!"

  • one of my favourite films since i saw as a kid. Oddball is the business! Good to see they made the effort to make the "Tigers" actually look like real Tigers (I think they're actually T-34s underneath)

  • @neilstone1970: made off of the chassis of T-34, good job spotting that!

  • What song is this?

  • we aint got no booze!

well were gonna get some booze.

u can bet your boots on that sarge.

    seargent partner!

  • What an impressive cast! Thanks for the food editing.

  • Another funny part is where Big Joe says: "All right, we've been ordered back to map reference four-seven-three so let's move move it!" and then Willard shouts, "But my hairs still in curlers!!" and Big Joe shoves him and someone in the background shouts, "That's tellin' 'em Willard" while everyone is laughing. I taught my 6 years old son to say that when we are going somewhere and my wife says it is time to leave.

  • Kelly's Heroes is the best war movie ever made, and the most realistic. Guys are motivated about money and girls - any movie showing guys caring about anything else is stupid and unrealistic. Half the soldiers fighting in wars never fire their weapons anywhere but in the air. Why, because they dont want to die -and just want to get laid. Sound familiar -- if not, your gay.

  • I love this movie. This is right up there with the Great Escape or the Dirty Dozen. The 60's take on World War II brilliantly produced, directed and acted. Bravo.

  • we all like different parts of the total classic film , thanks for posting this bit i really enjoyed it , pity them of them are so dead tho , rip to them all of them xxxxx

  • When we were in the bocaz country we were assaulted by those tigers you know what I mean by assaulted ? huh. WELL I MEAN ASSAULTED !

  • BigJoe "We're gonna have a lot of fun ain't we cowboy?"

Cowboy "You can bet your boots on that partner. "

    BigJoe "Sergeant partner."

    Cowboy "Right Sarge!"

  • One of my favorite movies. I loved Donald Sutherland in it.

  • Every one of you motherfuckers represent the most pathetic group of losers I've ever encountered on Youtube. This shit is in the top three of the WORST movies I've ever seen. I hope the Mike Curb Congregation comes to all your houses and gives you the most painful fist fuck you've ever had. Best line is guy to Rickles: "You all smell like a dung heap" Rickles: "Yeah kinda like your house." I add: "And this movie."

  • @spagandtuna "god almighty! you guys smell like you fell into a dung heap"........"kinda makes ya homesick! dont it".

  • @cptskellern I watched this shit at the same time I saw The Green Berets. Maybe I over reacted just a bit cause GB sucked a bigger dick than this. And there were a few scenes in this that were actually worthwhile. And Telly is always cool. So I'm softening my view on this just a tad.

  • @spagandtuna well in kid ;)

  • @spagandtuna nob.

  • @spagandtuna Ok calm down,.... if you don't like it then why comment? Keep it simple don't watch movies you don't like.

  • @johnmilo117 "Don't watch movies you don't like" is either a statement that comes from a metaphysical genious or, more likely, as I suspect, a ragedy ass simpleton. You attempt the math.

  • Comment removed

  • @spagandtuna I'm not trying to argue here. If you never liked the movie or whatever else there is then why did you jump into this video clip? Doesn't make sense.

  • @johnmilo117 Maybe I'm trying to be of use to viewers of this post who recognize that their time is valuable and might want a critical view of this movie before deciding whether it is worth giving their precious, limited, life moments to it. I don't think dumb, fawning comments that don't say anything makes sense. Who is to say what types of comments on YT "make sense?" Was I incomprehensible in my comments? If not, what's it to you?

  • @spagandtuna I'm gonna leave this alone now, I see your point so I'll just drop it OK.

  • The most realistic war movie ever made. True genius.

  • @DrCruel no were near being relistic but a very good movie

  • @K1asH3r Every soldier I ever met while in the service could be characterized by someone in Kelly's Heroes.

I've seen a lot of "gung ho" war movies (where US troops mow down waves and waves of "bad guys") and "liberal whiner" war movies (where all the US troops are either basket cases, rapists or Democrats). But the only war movies I ever saw with realistic soldier behavior were "Band of Brothers" and "Kelly's Heroes" - and I give the latter the edge.

  • Really good job posting this - Mulligan and Big Joe is so funny! Let me add one: "The Krauts ain't here - we're here!"

  • takes a rest

  • Great movie 40 years ago.... gets even better when compared to today's offerings.

  • Hey. Did you lose my areal photographs?

  • Remember - 'To a New Yorker like you a hero is some type of weird sandwich, not some nut who takes on three tigers!'

  • Big Joe "Why aren't you up there helping them"?

Oddball " I just ride them, I don't know what makes them go"!

  • Greatest film ever made.... Always Cheers me up

  • Genereal colt: Ever heard such a enthousiam, what the hell i am doing here. xD

  • More with the negative waves!

  • Telly Savalas and Donald Sutherland deserved Best Supporting Actors nominations for their perfomances at the very least, both were beyond memorable and there were no other actors who could have done better with them.

  • Kill Roy

    UP YOURS, Baby

  • have a little faith baby, have a little faith. lol

  • Unbelievable. I just checked imdb's top movies list and this isn't even on the T250 list. They had Das Boot, Bridge on the River Kwai, The Great Escape, Inglorious Basterds, Patton, and of course, Saving Private Ryan. This is gotta be the best WWII film before SPR. Just the Tiger tanks converted from T-34-85's are worth T100 billing.

  • @smokiemirrors i think its because kellys hereos is more like a comedy rather than a reflection of real life. this should not matter of course (since when do films have to be based on real things) but most war films are based on real events and focus more on the horrors of war and the bravery of certain individuals. i personally put it 3rd after saving private ryan and great escape

  • @shazmeister2005 I just reread my posting and I need to clarify. Before Saving Private Ryan, this film in terms of WWII gear and acting was way better than The Longest Day or A Bridge too far, which they keep replaying memorial day or D-Day.

  • "the only way to keep them busy is to let them shoot holes in me " xD

  • Ouhh!! That nut has gotta be nuts!

    Big Joe

  • great ending

Not only hundreds of thousands of dollars richer but a tiger tank too..

What more can you ask for... lol

  • Did you now that this film was filmed in yugoslavija(now slovenia) the yugoslav army have landed shermans and fake tiger tanks for filming of this movie. The short scene is filmed in a litle town caled Brežice(Slovenia) in this town Arkan was born (Željko raznjatovič-war criminal) ironic

  • chin post R1Fill, thank you oodles :)

  • They don't make movies like this anymore.

Lots of testosterone in this flick.

    All-star cast is super phenomenal.

  • love that movie :D

  • the minefield scene was filmed on my grandfather's land Karojba, Istra- Croatia and most of the movie was shot there

  • I thought you said 3 Shermans,, those nuts brought half the damn !

    ~ Big Joe

  • My fav movie of all time

  • 4:55 60 feet of bridge I can get almost any where

  • great!!!but miss a big 2 ones...sure we can go up against those tigers and they can use us for target practice!.....or shooting the paint in battle

  • Great compilation, love this movie.A great movie with some greater memeories, thanks.

  • Great clip compilation!

  • You missed out on one of the best parts.

Moriarty: "Look Oddball, for the uniform trade i can understand, but to buy this tank you got to be crazy".

Oddball: "It's a mother beautiful tank".

Moriarty: "It's a piece of junk, the fuel system leaks all over the place it's a piece of junk!!"

"Always with the negative waves Moriarty, always with the negative waves"

    Moriarty: Crap.

  • @johnmilo117 hahahahahahahahahh lmfao lmfao ahahahahahahhahaa! moriartys class!!!! well in dude top!!

  • Don Rickle's Crapgame and Telly Savales's Big Joe are damned cool as well!!

  • Oddball is God

  • You're right...He IS God.

  • I love this movie!! My favorite quote is this one from Oddball to Crapgame...."To a New Yorker like you a hero is some type of weird sandwich, not some nut who takes on three Tigers!"

  • Unlike the Dirty Dozen, where maybe three of the dozen were really allowed to expressive, almost ALL the characters in Kelly's Heroes contributed immensely to this film's success. Not only Clint Eastwood and Telly Savalas.

  • WOOF< WOOF< WOOF !!!!

  • great soundtrack too.. I love this film..

  • Don Rickles kills me. 9:18 9:28
