  • So far, this is the most touching video I've seen. The little girl, out of curiosity, seemed scared to what might happen to her dad.

  • Than you for your service & thank you for my freedom. God bless!

  • “A patriot sets himself apart in his own country under his own flag, sneers at other nations and keeps an army of uniformed assassins on hand at heavy expense to grab slices of other people’s countries and keep them from grabbing slices of his. In the intervals between campaigns he washes the blood off his hands and works for ‘the universal brotherhood of man’ - with his mouth.” Mark Twain, The Lowest Animal

  • The Mỹ Lai Massacre was the mass murder conducted by a unit of the U.S. Army on 3/16/68 of 347–504 unarmed civilian citizens in S. Vietnam, the majority of whom were women, children, babies & the elderly. They were, beaten, tortured & mutilated. The massacre took place in the hamlets of Mỹ Lai & Mỹ Khe. While 26 U.S. soldiers were charged for their crimes at Mỹ Lai , only William Calley was convicted. He served three years of an original life-sentence under house-arrest.

  • to the 7 people who clicked dislike, I like to ask why? Do you hate America so much that you would find a video honoring our fallen loved ones and click dislike? Just remember, when the citizens of your country come to the USA. They are given freedom, and freedom was paid by these troops. And as for you, I just hope you realize some day. Some day.

  • looks like 7 people missed the like button

  • The My Lai Massacre (Vietnamese: thảm sát Mỹ Lai [mǐˀ lɐːj]; English pronunciation: /ˌmaɪˈleɪ, ˌmaɪˈlaɪ/ ( listen),[1] Vietnamese: [mǐˀlaːj]) was the mass murder conducted by a unit of the U.S. Army on March 16, 1968 of 347–504 unarmed citizens in South Vietnam, all of whom were civilians and a majority of whom were women, children (including babies) and elderly people.

Many of the victims were sexually abused, beaten, tortured, and some of the bodies were found mutilated.

  • whats the song that starts at 2:07?

  • whats the song that starts at 2:07?

  • What movie is the scene from at the beginning of the slideshow?

  • @cublub92

    "We Were Soldiers"

  • @cublub92 We Were Soldiers, also a book written by one who was there...actually the most accurate movie portrayal of the time it shows in Vietnam...get the DVD for the special features.

  • ...let's celebrate selfish, and possibly quite evil, politicians sending poor military-cult-indoctrinated youngsters (soldiers) into meatgrinders!!! YAY! oh, there's one who lost her legs...so sad...i will try to forget about her after lunch, as the politicians forgot about her before ever knowing her...

hiter is bad, hitler is bad, and that justifies all future political-military idiotic adventures.

who pays for the pain? the soldier pays, that poor trained attack-dog on a leash.

  • @parafleet Someday I hope that you have the opportunity to have some person who has been trained to kill Americans with his foot on your throat right before he takes your life and I hope you remember how you have degenerated the sacrifice of so many who have given you the freedom to be a complete, irreconcilable idiot.

  • that's amazing of you to wish me physical harm because my opinion differs from yours. i'm an american; i'm proud of my country and my right to express my opinions freely. militarized minds, kids who have once been indoctrinated into the military, sometimes continue throughout the rest of their lives to see simple living as an "us" vs. "them" affair, as the "good guys" vs. the "enemies." just as the militarized mind wouldn't think twice to kill an enemy soldier..well, your comment says it all.

  • Obviously in your mind you are right and I'm the villain. I would die (as many have) for your right to disagree and you would piss on my grave for doing so. Do you see the irony in that my friend? A good soldier knows his enemy and whether you like it on not we are going to be here watching your pathetic back.

  • @sjlee1951 you're probably a nice guy for all i know. america is a great country; we don't have to agree. i think that's a wonder in this world. i have a lot of respect for the common soldier. sometimes i get mad at where his/her government puts him/her though, both physically and metaphysically. that is, i don't think soldiers are expendable. i don't think soldiers should be the meaty means to vague, incomprehensible ends.

  • This is a great video. Please check out my video "Talladega Veterans Day Parade 2010" It is a picture video of Talladega, AL's first ever Veterans day parade.

  • TheFedupCitizen is not so fed up today. Today I take time to pray for, and honor the men, and women that have given their live for my freedom. Thank you, thank you, and thank you soldiers for my freedom!

  • and to that idiot thursdayfour, it's pussies like you that whine and cry about war and never do nothing but enjoy the freedom that us REAL Americans provide for you that end up being a grown man living in their mom's basement playing video games and weighing 400+lbs and never contributing anything to the country they live in, but has alot to say bad about it. If you do not like it, do something other than run your mouth !

  • Ex Ranger here, love the video, and Happy Veteran's Day to my fellow Vets !!!!

  • truely a moving movie. very inspiring. I respect every veteran who fought and died for our rights we have today. Its so heartbreaking most never got to experience the rights they fought for and won.

  • thanks to everyone who has served did serve or are going to serve in the u.s armed forces god bless and stay safe

  • My heart goes out to the families of all the women and children that have been raped and murdered by U.S. troops. Only in a world this shity...

  • @Jenmk91 I hope you enjoy your day off.

  • For decades, members of the United States military have been pawns in a game played by a handful of very rich, very powerful murderers.

Murderers who don't give a damn about the people of the United States or our rights and freedoms.

On this day, I pay my respects to the people who didn't join the military because they were wise enough to recognize what's really going on.

As long as we continue to view military members as heroic, our children will continue to die as pawns in this sick game.

  • @thursdayfour What about those who were drafted and had no choice? Do they not deserve your respect? Your ability to voice your opinions was paid for with the blood of American soldiers. Be thankful.........or move to Iran.

  • This is awesome. God bless our veterans. God bless our military. God bless the USA.

  • What the crap if that was an American who disliked this they should of just accidentally hit that button or they just strait up dumb ass and should get the hell out of America if they hate it,,,

  • The 5 people who disliked this need their head checked...Send their asses over & make them walk in a soliders shoes....

  • War should be outlawed but until it is, it will be fought by young men and women in the prime of thier life. Thank you veterans for all that you did and all that you do.

  • Being a Gulf War vet, it was nice to see something in there about it. It was over so quick, I rarely ever see anything about it.

    Thx

  • needs ww1 also! lets not forget those guys some are still livign!

  • Amazing my school just showed this today for vets day

  • 5 people are communist

  • @uniquerestorations the military is not a lie give respect. most of my family served in the military and many of people i knew served also so give respect to the military

  • Moving. What is the clip at the begining from?

  • Well done and thank you!

    Proudly, a USAF veteran

  • I cannot believe how badly anything patriotic for the U.S. brings out such rude and just flat-out disgraceful remarks! And the majority of them are from fellow Americans! How can you people turn your back on your country? Do you not realize that without these soldiers who've died for YOUR sorry hides, you wouldn't even be able to HAVE the freedom to diss your homeland? Tell you what. If you don't like America, GET OUT.

  • at 1:25 thats how u drive a jeep!!!!

  • What's the name of the song at 0:55?

  • This made me cry yesterday at our veterans assmebly i think you did a great job

  • want to point out you got a WW2 photo into the Korean war part, but awesome video!

  • wow... this is so powerful. i have considered joining the marines and this slideshow just fills me with passion and patriotism

  • God Bless each and every troop that has taken the oath and protected this country, from ALL enemies, both foreign AND domestic. Never forget our fallen brothers and sisters, they are the TRUE heroes.

  • I am proud to have served with the finest that our country has to offer. Lets put the liberals on the front line and see how long it takes them to cowboy up.

  • I'm a liberal and did two tours in Nam. So what's the hell your point? I was cowboy before your daddy had a gleam in his eye.

  • What's your point Jim?

  • but being a liberal is the military is fairly rare......

    have an airborne day

  • lol usually republicans meaning theres alot of republicans in military

  • were you drafted?

  • No, nerdyretard. No draft for this kid, I enlisted at 17. My family has a very rich and proud military history. It is the duty of every man to serve his country. But not all men are able to serve, so it's left up to those of us that are willing and able to do it.

  • @GhostDog65 Thank you. Thank you for serving our country. I actually wish it was required of every man to serve at least two years in the military. Maybe there'd be a little more American pride today instead of these disrespectful bashers and haters.

  • @GhostDog65 Not long. I'm a liberal. Have a go in Kunar and Nuristan Provinces, Afghanistan, buddy.

  • Thank you veterans for serving..whether any war is right or unjust..thank you

  • tool-latraluse is the first song on the vidio, that song is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    god bless those veterains

  • my eyes are so full of tears i could hardly watch the end of the tribute. thank god for our troops. to those who have served, are serving, & will serve in the future, there is no greater hero than you!

  • I am so thankful and blessed to live in the "Land of the Free"-thank you to all veterans from every war-your sacrifices were great and you asked for nothing in return.

Army wife of a wounded Iraq War Veteran

  • I will always be thankful for all past , present and future who so bravely serve our country. You will always be in my prayers and never forgotten.

  • God bless you, veterans...one and all....

  • my grandfather was in WW2 and he has told me many stories about the war and life before and after and all the people he lost and became friends with so Verteran Day tomorrow i have someone i can honor personial it is very important to pray for our Vets.and the soliders in the war now.

  • Very inspiring. I am so proud of all the Veterans from all the wars. Our freedom comes at a high cost, thank God they are willing to pay it!

  • God bless this mess ey!? PEACE STEEL D>

  • god bless america. god bless the troops. all these commie anti americans can die in a hole.

  • This is a fantastic and sorely needed show of support for us veterans in this time of extreme cynicism. It is very easy for some to turn against our country in these tough times... Thank you for this, from a grateful U.S. Army veteran...

  • Outstanding tribute! Too bad people don't realize that war is sometimes necessary to protect freedom.

  • People sacraficed their lives so we can live in peace; not all soldiers believe in the motives of going to war, but they take responsibility because they're serving a greater purpose: to make sure families are safe. If America followed THE Christian principles we would still be getting harassed by King George III. Yea, it's easy to idealize when you're stance requires no action but comment posts on YouTube. I'm very sorry that my wages have to pay for your Social Security.

  • We served our country for the freedom for you to write this drivel. Maybe you would like to go to another country and just TRY to express your views. People are murdered just for what they think. For instance a Egyptian man murdered his two daughters because they were becoming too western and, were dating American men, where did this happen? here in TEXAS, the coward ran back to Egypt. I will die for my beliefs, you sound like a coward.

  • @4444df4444 If you're going to quote the Bible, then don't forget Ecclesiastes 3:8 "There is [...] a time for war and a time for peace." Sometimes conflict is a necessary part of life.

  • Thanks allot man, once again good work.

  • Amazing! Extremely good work there.

What is the song at the very start?

  • Uh...it's a song called Lateralus by Tool

  • Thank you all you who served and their families.

  • wow im speech less

  • This is a great show of out troops and Veterans and what they gave up for us.

  • I work at a assisted living facility and we are having a Veterans Day program on Monday Nov 12 and would like to use this video. You done a great job putting this together. If you are willing to provide us with this special video it would be greatly appreciated by the residents, guest and myself.
