The music aspect is also one thing that I'm uncertain about - Is it simply Makrooh or Haraam. If it is, guess i'll have to refrain for good - cuz Hell is one place I'd hate to go. I've read about the torments of hell & how the 19 angels who'll stand guard over Hell will subject the inmates to extreme punishment. Infact punishmnet is an understatement in this context. Man will be burnt & new flesh/skin recreated (only for it to be burnt again). This process will happen 70,000 times at day.

Salvation is not the exception in Islam but the rule, not like Christianity. The question is not "What have you done to be saved" but "What have you done to be unsaved." God looks for a reason to forgive, not to punish. He wants us all to go to heaven (jannah) but on our own choice. We simply have to choose to obey Him and avoid disobeying Him as best we can. That is the meaning of Muttaqi (one who has taqwa). Taqwa mean to avoid sinning; to protect yourself from disobeying your Lord.
