dick gere just couldn't keep himself together in this shit. goddamit dick u dissapponted me yet again.... but don't let that stop you from watching the movie cheadle and hawke were the best parts cheadle- bad guy(cop) trying to make his way back to doing good. hawke- good guy(cop) leads his way into doing bad but only for the sake of his family.
Wire Fan right here. I had to be still my heart when I saw my Wire peeps. I really liked Brooklyn's Finest, it was a mixture of New Jack City, Crash and The Wire. Did you notice some of the same scenes from New Jack City. Yeah, I loved the movie. good reivew
when they had the man upside down off the side of the business, that was classic NJC when they had the man hanging from the bridge. there were a few other things that I can't think of from the top of my head but it was NJCish to me. lol but I loved both movies
I seen the movie Kev. Good review. I agree with everything you said except for two things. You said this movie was not for Wesley and was not his style. You must not have seen New Jack City. Wesley played a more hardcore kingpin drug dealer in that movie. New Jack City is the movie most people associate Wesley with not Sugar Hill.
You also said the hoe in the movie "Shannon Kane" is one of the prettiest women you've ever seen. Dawg are you serious? She is pretty but C'mon.
Because it was too fictional. It was based on a collage of true stories, but it was all too "colorful" as far as style is concerned. Alittle over dramatized.
"It's sad when your lifestyle dictates you and you don't dictate your lifestyle...and then that internal conflict backlash externally on others in the form of emotional withdrawal."..... couldn't agree more bro
the only way a white person will associate themselves with "urban" is the white savior type movies like dangerous minds, BLINDSIDE lol..tahts the degree of urban they'll take in...when they look like they save minorities.

@NikeAurrs45 Richard Gere's part was meant to be played that way though. It added to the suspense.

Hmm, I kinda got the NJC vibe when they were tryin to do that outside deal, but that's most cop/drug dealer movies.

I recognize New Jack City, but I don't take it seriously.
And yes, she was that bad.

Aight, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Why do you not take New Jack City seriously?
