  • he just grinded from lo to 1st. There is a huge difference in them two gears and is hard to shift without grinding unless it is absolutely perfect rpm

  • Krrrrr krrrrr krrrr... este wey ke pedo

  • Krrrrrtt krrrrrr krrrrr.... tssssss este wey ke

  • Fucken hitting the diff locks

  • uau ! this is plane !! hahahah

  • Y'all can comment without the bad words; if you can't control your toungue, how in the world are gonna drive when the going gets rough?

Sure, he slipped up; but that's no reason for anybody to talk like a dumb-headed rapper.

I've been driving from one side of this country to other for almost 15 years and the old-schoolers tell me back in the day, truckers talked clean even when they were mad.

Maybe if we did the same now, people would treat us better.

    Keep'em rolling!

  • @sackitt16 it is tongue...

  • He must of done something wrong to receive all these negative comments.

  • Could you tell, please, what's model is it? I mean the truck.

  • @RaptorGP looks like a pete short hood 378.

  • just wondering did you take your truck to truckfest south west england 2011?

  • МНОГО КНОПОК И ПРИБОРОВ ПО ЗВУКУ ПОХОЖЕ НА КАТ МОЯ МЕЧТА

  • I figur he was touching the jake brake. But why use that in urban area ?

  • So many clocks and switches!

  • ma che un aereo

  • ford is beautiful

  • GRIND'EM TO FIND'EM

  • Grind 'em till ya find 'em!!!

  • Who gave the newby a large car....damn, I'd fire your a** for shitin' my truck like that! Spent all that money and time on the chrome and left that ugly*ss wood grain dash

  • @MrRuffnready5 Woodgrain, my friend, shows class. Painted dashboards are for fags and niggers.

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld Who said anything about paint? Mines brushed nickle dark stainless

  • @MrRuffnready5 379x? I can appreciate that

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld - Hey, I'm a fag with a woodgrain... Does that absolutely blow your mind? O.o

  • @DvvdJD MIND=BLOWN

  • tengo una duda para que metes el inter ?? acaso se empuento y no lo alcanse a ver o kee???

    saludoss

  • nice dash on it love all the chrome :)

  • thats a really nice rig

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld He hit the diff locks to help keep the truck in good traction. I know exactly what he was doing. So your the idiot.

  • @Pablohernandez379 When loaded you have more than enough preasure on the wheels to give it traction without hittng the diff locks. If you lock your diffs on asphalt then you must be from a real shallow gene pool, friend.

  • @Pablohernandez379

you think the same way i do it was a short turn up hill the trailer was still kind like side ways yeap i would do the same thing and i don't care what else thinks about that ok

  • @Pablohernandez379 Im a truck driver I have a pete 379 I dont ever have to use that in perfectly good weather with assfault below you, EVEN at a steep angle with a heavy load!!! You do that and that will screw the transmission up so your the idiot u dont know what your talking about.

  • @vwbeetleowner You are half right. I also had a pete 379, i drove for 12 years. Driving with diff locks on will not screw up the transmission, it would wear the tires and possibly screw up the rear ends but not the tranny.

  • If ya cant find em- GRIND EM... LOL

  • yeah... Looks Like the tag.... I like the old school 9513 type shifter...unless you get in the truck after it's been sittin' on a 90 degree day, Hot- shift.OUCH! shift OUCH...... lol

  • NICE VIDEO

  • Nice sound

  • it was a deep reduction switch

  • @joeydb59 the switch he hit on the dash is the rear diff locker

  • damn dude,grind me a pound.

  • what that bottom 0:49

  • @GarrettKeetley Replacing them isnt

  • touch my peterbilt pls

  • what sheet of paper is that?

  • The instrument panel as the plane, nice turbo. Beauful video

  • when u compare the truck with the truck driver i say truck rocks and drive looks bit untidy or i should say so unhygienic :(

  • Funny to see the difference between US trucks with lots dials and manual switches and a EU truck with one information panel and computer control everything

  • Kinda like my truck, mines all beat up ans dusty. Why I hate getting a truck the guys used for the road tests!

  • I've heard that CAT engines can only be rebuild twice.

  • @4NZZZ454CATEngine pending most cat engines go more than 2 million miles guess twice is enough

  • With all that cluster fuck of shit and gridnign sounds like a Drunk alien nd a ufo grinding till he finds it.

  • even my airplane doesn't have that many guages xD

  • what are ALL those buttons for is it a truck of a plane jeez

  • WTH i would go crazy with so many dials on the dash xD

  • Whoa, that's a hell of a lotta dials! :P

  • damn. look at all that chrome. badass.

  • wheeeeeeeeew that trannies gonna need re workin

  • nice looking pete

  • This foo kinda messes up and im really good at shifting and im only 14

  • @thmstrng6 like i said befor everyone a pro trucker eh

  • really that aint bad for shifting people are just being dicks cuz they cant shift a 18 speed

  • epic fail

  • well what ever u wana say the dumb fuck will urn out that diff runing all the time with out turnning it off like he didnt

  • @ZaKKu5592 uhhh splitter, not diff. genius.

  • @pauliscool2991 um did u not see him flip the diff lock in before he turned i wasn't talking about the splitter u need that to shift get ur cdl from a school not a cracker jack box thats if u have one at all

  • sounds like you would be the rookie dude, i admit he's not the smoothest shifter on the lift off but he was taking off on a hill as well as a t section so with airbag rear the switch would be power divider not difflocks to avoid a wheel spin so he don't blow a diff because airbag rear doesn't have as good of travel like spring suspension.

  • great sound

  • + one gadget up side down........

  • @humidificateur Can you?

  • @humidificateur the reason he grinded gears is because is was in LO and tried shifting to 1st to fast there is a big difference in rpm and power between those two gears

  • @goofballturbo dont even waste your time he doesnt get it

  • @humidificateur Na your right he cant shift for crap.

  • @humidificateur This guy needs to learn how to shift!! You are right about that. All you hear when he shifts is scratch and grind. And before anybody says "I bet you can't do any better". Bring it on. I drove truck for 12 years, I drove 9 speed, 10 speed, super 10. 13 speed, 15 speed, 18 speed. I have driven twin stick transmissions as well. I can shift em all with no clutch without even the slightest scratch or grind.

  • @ktumbleweed The chances of you not hitting or grinding not one gear in those 12 years is highly impossible. You're exaggerating. Shut up.

  • @prosleepy I ground a lot of gears when I was learning, I will give you that. After 6 months or so I stop grinding gears. Yes I would grind a gear once in a while, but not every single gear like this driver does. He is using the feel it into gear method. that is where you get it close then hold steady pressure on the shifter until it falls in! Does not take very much skill to do that. I watch tach and listen to the motor taking into account weight, uphill, downhill, etc..

  • @ktumbleweed Before you say "post a video of you doing better!" I would if I could. 4 years ago I had a seizure, and was diagnosed with epilepsy. That disqualified me for a D.O.T medical certificate, so I can no longer drive. I loved driving and miss it very much!!

  • whats the easyiest diesel engine to work on, is it a cummings caterpillar or detroit,im about to get my first truck, im looking at a used kenworth t600 series

  • @DexDizzy Detroit

  • thanks man, was thinking that a cummuns would be, because im getting into diesel engnes, ive seen my father works on his trucks all the time, and i used to watch, and i develop a passion for trucks,

  • @DexDizzy

their all pretty easy to work on. but either the detroit or cat would be easier... gotta have some know how on cummins.

  • @DexDizzy If you are getting your first truck and looking for something easy to work on, you should consider a Peterbilt, or even a Freightliner FLD-120 classic or Western Star. Those are the easiest trucks I've worked on as far as components. Aerodynamic trucks tend to have lots of shit crammed into small places, and can make for shitty work. Just my advice, this more expensive truck will pay for itself in the long run. (and get a pre-2003 EPA truck)

  • wtf was with hitting the diff locks...

i smell a rookie or a super trucker who likes hitting the switches just for the sake of hitting switches.

  • not diff lock...lift axle

  • I guess you're right. My rig's diff lock is in the spot, and we actually dont even have air switches for our diffs, we use electric toggles.

    meh. my bad.

  • yea.. its his spare switch which he has his dump valve on a trailer axle hooked to

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld im starting to think your the supper trucker. that was for his lift axle gear box. but i for got. ever ones a trucker

  • @truck575 We've already discussed this and I admitted being wrong. On my truck the lift axles are toggle switched not air valves. smd.

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld you think that maybe he didnt want to spin the tires on the wet assphalt?

  • @robby844 We've already gone over this. First off, those aren't actually diff locks but the lift axle. Second, you don't need diff locks on asphalt, wet or dry. Ever. Unless covered in a foot of snow.

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld wow then youve never had a CAT.the truck i drove you had to throw the diff lock on everytime you were going straight.lol in fact even in the dump truck i drove with a cummins you had to.altho my kitty was putting out over 700 at the crank

  • @robby844 First off, I honestly don't believe you drove a truck that was pushing 700 at the crank. If you even drive trucks, you only got your license within the last year as you are 21 in the USA where the minimum age for a Class 1 license is 21 years of age.

That said, I don't care if you drive trucks or not, so a response is a waste of your time, but feel free to if you want as I can't stop you.

Also, if you needed the diff locks, that just means you can't handle the 700 hp on your own.

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld hahaha are you sure about that? cuz 18 is the legal age if your job requires it.and yeah when your pulling 140000 pounds in the snow i guess you would need diff locks.but i guess your one of those "pros" thats has claimed to have driven in EVERY POSSIBLE place on the planet.but then again you dont even know the law hahahhahah

  • @robby844 Driving at 18 must be a state law because in Canada we can get out licenses at 18 but are not allowed to drive into the USA where, to my knowledge, the required age is 21. That said, 140,000 lbs in deep snow you will need diffs. In light snow and rain, or with a lighter load, you don't need to touch the diffs.

I might also add that I have made no claim to have driven EVERY POSSIBLE place on the planet. Now you're just being a twit, putting words in my mouth.

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld then you shouldnt have questioned me.and its not a state law.if your job requires you to have a class one you are entitled to have a class one as long as you have a latter signed by your boss.

  • @robby844 Whatever. The point still is that if you need diff locks on pavement just because you have some extra power, then you obviously can't use said power. I'm running 140,000 lbs gross with a 550 Cat and I haven't had to use the diff locks outside of the gravel pits once. And I live in fuckin Canada, where the hills are steep and the snow is deep. But then again I'm just a super trucker, so what do I know.

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld haha i see u 2 are fighting. anyway the legal age is 18 in iowa BUT you gotta be 21 to leave the state ur registered in. thus from 19 (when i got my cdl) till 21 i couldnt leave the state. and i do think that was his tag/pusher axle. i think this because y would u lock in ur diff lock on pavement and try turning. second its a hell of alot easier to turn with the tag/pusher up. hope that clerifies a bit. fyi i agree more with u lol

  • @yukonrott thanks brother

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld I'm sure thats the air dump for a spread axle trailer.

  • @kiatruck No we went over this already. It's the lift axle on the pony.

Spread axle dump valves are usually operated by toggle or rocker switch

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld I should know that because those switches are air switches in my 04 379. Maybe I should of thought before I posted a comment.

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld lol.. you dumb. jk, i doubt it was the diff switches. im pretty sure it was the wheel for the trailer, thats if he had spread axle you have to have an extra one to lift the wheel on turns. :)

  • @eltrokeromexicano We already came to this conclusion. In my truck the lift axle is electronic (toggle switch) so I had wrongly assumed it was a diff switch. Thanks for contributing.

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld I thought it was for a tag axle, if it was a diff lock someone has alot of free money to rebuild drive axles...lol

  • @Thesupersmith79 Yeah I didn't realize it was for a pusher axle at the time, I've got toggles on my rig, not the air switches so I didnt really think before I posted.

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld could be the tag axle thats where mine is in my daycab. and if ur turnin a tight corner and have a lil to much pressure on ur tag and the suspension give u will wheel hop a bit. its nothin to worry about but ur tire spinnin like that then grabbin can break an axle.

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld who hits the diff locks on dry paverment :s

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld rookie i doubt if he was a rookie his left leg would have been bobbing up and down of the clutch. As for the ouch your so ruff? Ive seen truckers with more mileage in reverse than youve done on tarmac grind gears for simple bad boxes.

  • @volvoknightoftheroad If you read on a little farther you'll see that we established that this was not the diff lock, but the pusher axle on a pony dump. The pony I used to drive has this switch on an auxillary box with the dump controls. Honest mistake on my part. However, I never made any comments about his shifting, and I don't see how you can comment on my experiance. Though I'm sure there are many drivers with more miles than I, you are not one to comment on that. :3

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld it looks like he is pulling a sread axel trailer so whenever he makes a turn he has to hit the switch to dump air on one of the axel

  • @mamaduabate Nope, spread axle suspension air dumps are controlled by electric toggle switches, as are most regular lift axles on trailers. The switch he was hitting in the video was for a "pusher" or lift axle on the tractor.

  • You better quit floating those gears cause you ain't worth shit at it. grind me a pound while you're at it. lol

  • he only ground 1 gear lol even the best make mistakes hell my father a 21 year veteran of the road even scratches some

  • Myself included. But those misses get real expensive these days. At least if you are OO like me. New 18 spd about $8k.

  • oo eh u have it lucky imagine a company fld120 throttle cable breaking at 60mph and the throttle being stuck open!! and having to with your own mony par for a home depo fix!! which just happend to me today

  • Kick ass driver. Pete for life.

  • what does the post it sticker say nice truck nice vid

  • to many buttons and switches

  • That's what real Rig is supposed to have.

  • if you say so .

  • this guys a moron

  • No doubt you have experience driving I still disagree with your explanation for using the PD I have been a truck driver for 26 yrs hauling gas heavy equipment/gravel chem tanker last 20 years pulling the same freuhauf tank with a 99 KW w900 550hp 18 speed gross @98.000lbs never used the power divider other than snow or ice you would be more likely to cause driveline damage in a turn loaded with the power engaged on a dry road Anyhow nice truck, I prefer my KW. be safe.

  • I have a 2000 Pete 379. Bad typing.

  • Inter lock was used to make the turn. The road had high and low areas in it and with a load it causes the truck tires to slip on one side. With this locked their isn't no slip and you reduce the chance of twisting a drive line. I have 3.5 million miles and over 33 years experience. I haul gasoline and have a 200 379 Pete. 600 Cummins and 285 inch wheel base. The tranny is 18. With this combo you better inter lock.

  • Comment removed

  • that thing is going damn well if its supposed to be loaded.

  • If I drove like that I certainly wouldn't video it for everyone to see."GRINDING GEARS" and using the interaxle differential lock for no reason on a dry road!!,Not what is intended for. This driver needs to go back to school.

  • " no " not school ! put him on the farm

for a few years, let him fix the equipment

    he breaks,lol...

  • Hey! Awsome truck. At 0:25 & 0:50 What is the butten for and what dose it do?

  • It looks like the Interaxle power divider lock switch. It locks up the differential in the power divider that splits torque between the front and rear drive tandems to prevent one drive axle from spinning and losing power. You usually never use this on asphalt, only on loose surfaces.

  • I had that CAT in a Freightshaker. A lot of people don't like them, but I loved mine. Lots of power! Sounds good.

  • truck sounds good

  • wow look at all the gauges must look cool at night in that cab

  • Is that the ACERT model C15?

  • ACERT came out in '04 or '05.

I'm running a bridge motor in my '04 W900L that was built before the ACERTs came out. Still a single turbo on mine.

  • even with the jake on lightly push in the clutch it disengages the jake

  • goota love the cat motor and the turbo

  • your right kunty666 shifting on the jake i sometimes do it it is easy depends on how heavy i am, if im light (12000lbs) ill do it but if im heavy (36000lbs) i ran a pete 379 it is something that you dont want to get use to though it is rough on all the linkages and gears inside the tranny and engine

  • I love the sound of the turbo

  • and yes i realize u were going uphill so :P

  • hmm well you grind it a bit much :\ i know sometimes you can't avoid it, just sometimes it's worn out and beat up but i was driving a 96 FTL (EF Roadranger 10spd) and it was pretty worn out but still could easily no clutch and not grind really :P idk though i have never driven a pete so this may be harder to do and different, especially with diff. trans, anyways love the cat sound though *****

  • Rvd261 im a truck driver and its not the trans ..you can shift gears without clucthing once you have the speed matched to the gear ratio then you can shift without clutching i tend to allways cluctch out of gear but not into gear, im not the graetest at this as sometimes i do muck it up and as i dont look at the tacho i tend to do it by feel and ear as to when to change others may see it diffrent but thats what im doing its not a great skill just rather practice makes perfect

  • I do this with cars all the time... no clutch out of lower gear or into next higher gear. Just hold it "just right' at the next gear and as the revs match it should slip right in smooth as ever, and then apply throttle again. I only drove truck at the skills center studying diesels, but that was 5mph tops backing the things up around and stuff.

  • thats a nice lookin truck

  • damn gotta love that interior

  • peterbilts are the top trucks!

  • Comment removed

  • Ya but there not built as good or look as good as American Trucks!

  • Well i cant argue with you there. American trucks do have a lot of character and are well built. I always liked the kenworth k 100 cabover. You dont seem to see them now, everyone seems to use trucks with a nose.

  • damn, thats one fine dashboard. Be nice to even have a car with so many chrome rimmed dials and gauges!!

  • I don't know anything about Commercial trucks, but...whats the difference between clutching, and shifting without clutching? Is it that some trans are made like that or is't skill?

  • it's pretty much all about skill, when u first start driving u wanna use the clutch till u get the feel for it.

  • thAT and double clutchign in a metro environment is a pain in teh ..... leg

  • grind em till u find em

  • @truckerdyl77 haha mate you got teeth? might as well clean em

  • its grinding because he is reved high in LO gear and he is trying to go to 1st to fast, i have 2 keworth T-600's 1 with an 18 speed and the other with a 13 speed, and i never have to put the 18 speed in Lo gear and i pull a 5 axle low-boy

  • correct. it's like a 50% step between LO and 1st.

  • of course it a corvette dash

  • This has to be the nicest truck dashboard ever! Petes rule!

  • I don't think it's grindin' cuz he's shifting too fast, I think it's because he overreved in LO gear and tried to shift to 1st gear. Better to short-shift, meaning rev low and shift quick when going from LO to 1st because the split is huge(50%)and engine can't slow down fast enough to catch the next gear.

  • i hate that. when your road speed slows down more quickly than the motor RPM! I use the clutch in that instance to kind of bang it in gear. eaton fuller manual says you can use the clutch brake but i haven't had success with that.

  • his grinding cauz i think his shifting to fast not so shure

  • you are a horrible shifter

  • hold on to that cat. later cats such. cummis isx in all paccar trucks.

  • do you have some pics of your shifter knob ! I would like to make a same...

  • yeah when I get a chance i'll take a picture for you... it's my friends truck

  • where do you bring your shifter knob ?

  • you have 1 gauge beazle upside down. why? is it from all the vibration from grinding gears?

  • this is a nice rig with all the gauges and all

  • If you can't find it, grind it!!!

  • is that a 6 cylinder

  • She's a 6 cylinder - thanks for the comment

  • Wow that is a serious dashboard! A real thing of beauty!

  • You know, On a hill going up, loaded: if you just hesitate a tad longer before you throw into gear from neutral, you would avoid rubberizing the gears. You got to remember matching engine speed with road speed.

    Think about what is happening.

Gosh, I couldn't take too much of that gearjammin' with all the gears protesting like that.

  • Looked like when you had the diffs locked was the only time the shifting was off.... My Pete will do that if you have the diff lock on... At least in the lower gears... You just have to time it different when they're locked... I dont know why it does it but it does. That my take on the "grinding gears" issue.

  • i w
