Well, I would guess that British top 40 charts are pretty chock full with American tunes. But I agree, it helps to undercut the 'Masterpiece Theater' location of a manor house.

The soundtrack it's so American... Aparently, it has nothing to do with the aesthetic of the film. It's so British... But the blend works out...
