  • WOW... 7:53 and forward.... Laws are NOT open to interpretation! That's why they are written in books, with WORDS that MEAN THINGS that have clear DEFINITIONS. What a load of garbage. I would hope that since you are state certified to conduct the investigation, it would include the ability to bring charges against people who interfere with that investigation.

  • @topper4125 Thanks for your post. The problem with upper echelon police, DAs and politicians is they all wipe each other's butts. We file, but unless the complaint is handled by someone outside the good ol boys network, nothing happens.

  • absolutely disgraceful. cops have got to be the stupidest most unintelligent drones one the face of the planet. i cant stand local "authorities" like cops. i have a similar situation going on at my school where we are trying to form an atheist group. the law says that we are entitled to equal access and that the school must accommodate us. they throw crap at like saying its required that we have a teacher sponsor, when in fact they have to provide one or let us gather after school without one.

  • THIS IS INSANE!!!

  • Does anyone else think that the cop looks like Barney Fife? lol

  • I can accept your beliefs of being against inhumane animal abuse. I also accept the fact that you can legally be at these places doing what you do. I feel you guys sometime forget that other people have the right to participate in what they enjoy. Granted I do not approve of animal abuse and find it distasteful, but people have a right to participate in activities of their choosing as long as it is within the confines of the law.

  • @lyokofans The laws need to be changed to protect the animals, and that's why we're raising awareness, so more people can speak out to their legislators to get the animal cruelty law exemptions lifted from these entertainment venues . If these venues truly believed and were absolutely certain they aren't harming animals, they wouldn't be scared of our cameras.

  • @SHARKonlineorg I agree laws should be in place within reason to protect animals from inhumane treatment. I feel that some of your methods are a bit too aggressive causing negative reactions from the people involved. I agree with your cause though.

  • Why didn't you call the State Police?

  • @battleguy500 Although our investigators are state certified, this was a local jurisdictional issue.

  • (adding to my other comment which was cut into half due to length) It's life. The only thing we can do is fight it, and hope for a better tomorrow. I know this is an old video, but it's just ups9etting, among many others i've seen like it, involving either police brutality, or officers lying(Which they legally are aloud to do) about laws they obviously know nothing about. Sickening.

  • @Shiscabob1 Thanks for your posts. Yes, it is an old video, but unfortunately, a current trend.

  • @SHARKonlineorg its a shame that a few bad apples give rodeos a bad name. generally speaking most people who work with livestock are huge into animal welfare. I do not like how you guys called it the Infamous wauconda rodeo though. I live in Lake county and I can tell you that is not the reputation it has.

  • @johnnyboy922 It is what it is, an animal-abusing venue.

  • It's people like this that make me sick. Fascist, corrupt politicians and their henchmen are part of the reason people don't trust our government. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of politicians who actually DO their jobs, in the interest of those they represent, and for the greater good, and the same goes for law enforcement, but when you think about it, mistrust in government is a beautiful thing. But, there will always be corrupt people in power, and that power may make people corrupt.

  • I can't believe what I am seeing! Thank you for posting this.

  • @peraspira We appreciate your postings. Thank you.

  • Thanks so much SHARK for bringing to light all the cruel and inhumane treatment of animals that goes on at rodeos. It is shameful that law enforcement does not merely turn a blind eye, they actually assist these thugs in continuing their abuses. I live in Alabama and I want to go document the events at a rodeo the first chance I get!

  • At 2:03 of this video the narrator recites the law verbatim and it states investigators may enter the property to investigate but the law does not state the investigators may use video tape to document abuses. To me, if I were a cop, I would interpret that as you may enter and investigate but cameras are not allowed....I'm all for protecting animals but if you're going to infer that the cops are openly disobeying the law, at least produce a law that states the investigator may use video or any

  • @Lgiprinter It's called gathering evidence. If you don't record it there's, no record of it. Every notice police/csi taking pictures at crime scenes? Common sense.

  • LAWS AREINTERPRETED DIFFERENTLY BY EVERYBODY. FTW

  • "well laws are interpreted differently by everyone" AHAHAHAHAH so I can go on a killing spree if someone killed my family and I can say, according to the logic of this officer, "excuse me sir, an eye for an eye, that is what I interpreted from the laws of this country. LOL unbelievable. SHARK should be more assertive after constantly being patient and SHOW them how they are being incredibly stupid.

  • @TheOnlyEliteSniper Thanks for your post.

  • Remind me never to go to Illinois. What a couple of wanker cops. They look so stupid.

  • I love your videos and the rawness of the law being out of hand by police. you should come here a cop threatend to knock me out for saying he cant step into my friends house.

  • lol, these cowboys seem to have been sniffing to many cowpatties, they need a refresher course in animal rights, lol

  • Well it seems they have something to hide and don't want the public to know about, now there's a surprise!! Rodeo's dirty little secret. Laws are laws and you cannot interpret them any way you want but obviously you can if you're a cop.

  • LMAO "Law's are interpreted differently by different people" I'm glad I live in Will County where they can't pull shit like this.

  • im not for animal abuse i think there should be fare treatment. i think there should be a balance. Rodeos should be allowed but there shouldn't be purposeful hurting. It is a sport; animals will get hurt much like athletes do in any sport (break a leg, tear a tendon) but should not be intentionally hurt, accidents will occur in any sport. This is what i think, then again who cares what i think or who cares what u think. All 4 words and words 4 all. Hopefully what is right, just and fair prevails

  • The people running it don't want any videotaping to happen. Officer

"Even though legally we're allowed to videotape"

My job is to make sure that happens No dumb ass, you're job is to enforce the law!!! That's the whole point, it doesn't matter what people want, it's the law that's your job idiot!! This is why I hate cops. They should have to pass an IQ test.

  • It seems like the second deputy you spoke to knew you were in the right but was to afraid to go against his bosses orders in fear of being punished / losing his job. Have there been any updates since this video has been released?

  • @bigbigblue111 Yes, we come across instances like this, the cops being forced to ignore citizens's rights and bonafide laws in order to appease the corrupt higher echelon.

There are no updates to this particular incident.

  • They can't be fined for not letting you on the property? I mean what the hell do they make laws for if they aren't going to follow them. Dumb ass cops.

  • @TheGreekMan1981 It's called money in the pocket, and it's taking place above the cop's ranks; with the people that pull the cop's strings.

  • The cops act like they're getting paid off. As soon as you bring it up he looks away.. Sorry but you cant convince me you're not getting paid on the side when you cant even look at me like your a man when you respond. Bunch of dogs with they're tails between they're legs once you mention your from the Department of Agriculture, "Uh...Uh..I received orders..uh..from..uhh" One question though. Is it by law you HAVE to inspect after complaints or you just have the right to?

  • @DrKevoShow Our certification gives us the lawful right to investigate complaints as we see fit. We're not under contractual obligation to any entity. The state or municipality are the ones with the obligation to answer complaints to make sure their animal cruelty laws aren't being violated. Wauconda is just interested in the money coming in, not the animals.

  • Keep putting up videos of animal cruelty, more people need to know. But this stuff about putting the cops down, it is petty.

  • @pkeane1991 When police protect the abusers, we will expose them.

  • ...obviously Chief "Eckenstaller' (sp? w/e) and his minions are getting a cut of the profits from the Rodeo owner! ...also,here's a link i wanted to share..it's very graphic but only through knowledge of what's really going on,will ppl wake up! God Bless everyone at SHARK!! topdocumentaryfilms(COM)com/earthlings/ @56:40 they show rodeo torture :(

  • this is such bs that cops do things like this and do not uphold the law. i would like to become involved in protests against things like this. but dont know where to start. im sure this takes place everywhere including tennessee, where im from. any advice on how or where to get started?

  • @awdordie Thank you for your post and wanting to lend your voice to abused animals. If there are abusive events such as rodeos, circuses taking place near you, chances are someone is protesting the cruelty. Go meet them. Your local newspapers may be a source as they'll often say a group plans to protest. Also, join groups on Facebook. We're there .com/sharkonlineorg and from there you can find others in your area. Or simply begin a grassroots group yourself. Others may be waiting to join you.

  • the cop is really proud of his rank it's funny because no one gives a shit

  • I live in lake county and to be honest, the sherrifs are very corrupt!

  • Poor cops takes orders like everybody else. Chief says nobody in with cameras, nobody gets in with cameras. only way to fix this i guess would be to hold out to about november, thats about when county elections are right?

  • @bjamer2 You're right. It's about time to vote corrupt politcians and their lackeys out of office.

  • what a corrupt bunch in the land of lincoln-honest abe!!!

  • you guys are a dumbass polices worst nightmare haha i love it

  • We are such an awesome species.

  • I bet those animals are tasty.

  • @TheEodtch , not really, terrified meat is tough meat. I guess you figure, because you eat it, you can torture it first? Nice attitude. Typical of a rodeo supporter of animal abuse.

  • If they are respecting the animal welfare laws then surely they would welcome a full inspection.

I would think that passing such an inspection would be good publicity and it would also be very useful in defending themselves from criticism.

  • @DreddDwarf You have more common sense than they did. Thanks for your post.

  • I don't see how the police can stop an investigation when it's been approved by the Dept. of Agriculture. You guys HAVE to have some form of documentation to prove there was cruelty going on. If I were you, I would have walked right past the police waving the credentials/warrant in their faces.

  • Keep up the good work! I am already emailing my state reps to make sure this does not happen here in WA state!

  • That's just typical the police or sheriff dept. will always interpret the law to there favor and not the citizen. Most all law enforcement people are power hungry thugs that will side with the money . Bet you that if SHARK offered to pay them under the table they could have gotten a camera in there but that would make them no better than the rodeo thugs. Keep up the good work!

  • Keep up the good work. Maybe you should add a note to the video that the people should like the video so it spreads more. I initially wanted to unlike because i don't like how the cops go against the law but then i realized that a like is better to bring the video to more people.

  • @minodul Thanks for your post. Those buttons are ambiguous and it lends to confusion.

  • the scary thing is they have guns and walk around not really protecting or abiding by the law themselves or its citizens

  • No cameras and no pictures. this means no proofs dum dum. And all this with the help of police officers. How nice it is. Those cops should get the very same treatments then the animals who get hurt.

Nobody is paying me on the side. Does he just look crasy or his he.

  • I wish I could help, in most the rodeos Ive been to/in did not do calf roping or steer busting the way I have through these videos. Ive always seen it done with a quick release. If the lasso goes around the neck it is then release seconds after roping without stopping the calf or steer. how fast you roped and released determined the time. Never before would i think to see horses treated as i have in these videos i guess the was i grew up was to respect your livestock and they will work for you

  • @MsKirawolf Thanks for your post. What you described is called breakaway roping.

  • Michael badding or w/e that thing's name is how do people not realize that abuse is going on? They think just one person is involved? Nah, no way's they probably just don't want to get involved in a big business that keep families and children out of trouble, a "positive" hobby if you will. You can even tell on the PO'sface they don't like the situation but they're just trying to do what's their job, guarantee they know what's going on. I'd say "someone" but more PEOPLE Need to do something.....

  • @Breezy8o8 Thanks for your posts. What needs to be done is, laws need to be changed to include all animals under protection. No exemptions. Not for rodeo, circus, food production, anything. All animals need to be protected from cruelty.

  • Keep up the good work Steve this is awesome. You should make a video with your knowledge about peoples rights and state laws. I'd like to learn how to handle those situations and by taking advantage of my rights like this.

  • @afshinsaffa All laws, state and federal, can be easily found online. Every American should know them.

  • Unbelievable Steve !

You are the best man in the world...

  • @dale3858 We appreciate your vote of confidence, Dale. It's a team effort, for sure.

  • @SHARKonlineorg Wish I could help you...

  • Haha they know they're doing something wrong when they try to ban cameras!

  • @squirttle92 Absolutely. Cheyenne tried to do that a year back to keep us from filming, but the outcry from rodeo people not being able to record their events made them reverse it. And did CFD clean up the abuse? No, they just denied the animal injuries we exposed happened.

  • Disturbing but not at all surprising. I grew up in Wauconda and this rodeo is revered as 'tradition' and all that, but if most people knew what really goes on to make the animals act the way that they do it would probably be a different story. Then again there are many that don't care.

After having worked with and had animals all my life I know for a FACT that they're much smarter than people think. This is a big part of the reason I don't eat meat and support animal rights and protections.

  • @JoeDestruction Thanks for posting.

  • @SHARKonlineorg Was there ever any legal follow-up with this case? Clearly the officers and officials in question here are in violation of the very state law that they're sworn to protect. Just curious, I would think some form of a lawsuit would be appropriate, but of course like everything it is all about money. This part of NE IL is very stereotypically 'Chicago' in how it 'works' so I'm not really surprised by how things happened in 2009. Anything with this specific rodeo and lawsuits, etc?

  • @JoeDestruction As you know, the corruption goes all the way up to the state attorney's office and no doubt beyond. They have the power to hold up any suit indefinitely, effectively bleeding a plaintiff dry. We have to pick and choose which battles to continue. Sadly, it's the animals that suffer because of their corruption, greed and powertrips.

  • Organized crime controls most rodeo's , These cops should all be fired and fined for obstructing the law. After seeing these video's I want to burn all 250 of my vintage cowboy shirts .

  • Law is in the eye of the beholder LOL reduculous

  • These pigs need to be put in the rodeo.

  • Lake county....Where animal abuse is state sanctioned....And Pigs write their own rules......Cruelty is a must!

  • fuck the police, walk past him.... you have the law on your side, tell the cop what your doing and then do it, he will question himself when you take charge

  • Consider your attack angle. Sensationalizing your *unfair* push with police following orders is wonderfully inflammatory; although it seems your clips of "helpless concerned public turned away by big bad unfair cop" must sufficient for the point.

Suppose less circumlocutory time was wasted pushing the same worn out argument-

Arm 10+of your mates with mini cams to use once inside. Gray area? Maybe, but once its split into several media channels and on YT I don't suppose that will much matter.

  • lol omg stay away from south

  • The mere fact they deny any type of recording or picture taking speaks for itself - the camera has always been a tradition of social events - what have they traded that age old tradition in to promote abuse - like he said "we do not promote dogs fights" - but they do this duh huh

  • @92359hg We agree. If they weren't doing anything wrong, they wouldn't be afraid of our cameras.

  • HOW DO THE COPS GET AWAY WITH THAT???

  • @idealyoulose Because their bosses, and their bosses' bosses allow it. Corruption and special privilege goes high up.

  • @SHARKonlineorg may i ask, why aren't you being escorted by a federal agent?

  • @greegarrett1 It's not a federal issue.

  • @SHARKonlineorg If the Department of Agricultural(state or federal) is prevented from conducting a lawful investigation by a local, county, or state law enforcement agency, i do not understand why the FBI, IA, or DoJ would not assist you; or conduct an investigation of their own? these deputies are clearly not enforcing the law, rather the wishes of a private/commercial party that do in fact violate the law.

    thanks

  • @greegarrett1 The federal govt. is not allowed to interfer with state mandated laws. To put it in simple terms, the 50 states have the autonomy to set their own laws, the federal government is the overseer of the country's welfare as a whole, which is why the 'crossing of state lines' becomes a federal issue, as in dogfighting. The transport of dogs between states for fighting has long been a federal crime, but dogfightig has only recently become fully illegal in all 50 states.

  • @greegarrett1 The fact that officers within a state are not doing their job, unless it comes down to a federally mandated issue such as race, hate crime, terrorism, etc., the federal government will not get involved.

  • I wish every people who abuse of animals was tortured, to feel how is "good" to feel pain.

  • The alagations of abuse in these rodeos are uddertly absurbed. Rodeo abuse is not prevlent in all or very amny rodeos. I will say that there are instances but over all it just doesnt happen. These alagations are just in fact not true.

  • This video truly makes me embarrassed to be pursuing a law enforcement career. The utter incompetence of these police officers is appalling to say the least. In a way, I can understand their predicament because they are given orders, which they have to carry out, but even in that instance they could've gotten a higher ranking official to override their initial directives. You all are doing good work exposing these fools who abuse animals and I support you all 100%.

  • @RECON4NOW Thank you. You keep that insight and attitude about how an officer should or shouldn't act with the public and you'll be a good one. It is an honorable profession and only professional people should be wearing the uniform.

  • @RECON4NOW Well said......Well said.

  • @RECON4NOW Exatcly. Looks to me like these polices are not interested to follow the law. Looks like (their attitude) they present the law to people but dont want to follow it themselves!

  • After reviewing many videos posted by your channel, I can honestly say that I retract one of my previous comments made. I am an animal lover, and cannot believe the way these beautiful creatures are treated. It makes me sick to my stomach. I wish there was some way I could get-up and do something to contribute to what you people believe in. You guys are truly awesome human beings, and I strive to one day stand up and fight so passionately for what I believe as much as you guys do.

  • @paratrooperdan949 All you have to do is speak up against abuse when you see it.

And contact your state representatives and demand all animals be included under cruelty laws with no exemptions.

  • good work...makes the average joe want to get out and be proactive for change...any changes in Wauconda?

  • @socrulz19 Thanks for your post. Little is going to get done unless people smarten up at the polls and get decent, honest people into office.

  • @phllcm3 ""All rodeos are not this way!! "" What are you doing to stop the abuse in the rodeos that are that way?

  • You either understand animals and what constitutes 'humane' ... or you don't. Most rodeos would love to allow anyone with an open mind who had some clue about animal welfare to see their stock and methods as they have nothing to hide. Sadly ... people who don't know livestock have no means of understanding.

  • @quarterflash1133 Our videos show plenty of their 'methods'. And there's nothing humane about them. Rodeo has plenty to hide. If they didn't, they would be forthcoming with all injury reports.

  • Do those cops get arrested by the good cops?

  • Rednecks run this country...

Thank you for keeping up the fight!

  • Who polices the police?

  • everyone at SHARK - thanks for standing up! we need more people like you on this planet

  • @ststephen909 We appreciate your support.

  • thanks i appreciate it. The rodeo I go to, as far as i know, does not allow this garbage to occur. but i will keep and eye out after watching this and will let you know on this channel if i see something thanks

  • Surely the Federal Gov. has statutes that over-ride any state laws that are ineffective. How can 'Private Property' prevent the Propfessional use of technology for investigaztive recording purposes? To me, Illinois, is like a '3rd World' basket case dictatorship. Germany has animal rights in their constitution. Using animals for entertainment, is such a marginal aspect of being a human being... Even God states that animals will be in Heaven! I do not know a lot, but I try. Best Wishes Ur Good!

  • lets go in guns a blazing boys

  • good work steve....keep it up....cops....they remind me of gradeschool children....well at least these ones do

  • youve got to stand up and fight

  • keep up the good work steve

  • MrJonnyboyification: Thank you. We appreciate your posts.

  • There Is a way they can film..They could use tiniest camera and hide it in a neck tie or their shirt and secretly film it.

  • Wow cops not following the law??? Yep a sick state.

  • I think the police understood what was going on and new they were supposed to help you. The problem was that they had their orders. If you are a police officer and told by your superior to do something you are trained to do that. The fault should not be on these police officers but, instead, on their superiors.

  • I actually think those coppers supported you because they couldn't look you in the eyes.

  • not all cops are bad people but i will admit some are corrupt you have to remeber that many put their lives on the line to protect us

  • kkash011: We have the utmost respect for law enforcement officers who are professional and respectful towards citizens and who don't make up their own laws as they go along.

  • @kkash011 I've never been protected by a police officer, ever. Because I am skate boarder scum! They have made it apparent that I protect myself!

  • if my mom was still a cop and lived in Illinois she problably would let them go "under cover" and let them go in. my mom loves animals.

  • just to show you cops can get paid from the outside.. cops are bad... keep up the good work..

  • I FUCKING HATE COPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they just dont care about the animals or people shit if i ever went to rodeo where they said no cameras or recorders are allowed i wouldnt give a damn i wouldnt listen the rules and i would just bring a camera anyway to expose those son of a bitch, cruel, fucking, animal abusing supporters they call cops

  • Why dont you fuckers show your face on that video. You and me should dance ill tap dance on your face ass clown

  • Come to MN Lets do this then keyboard warrior....

  • "state law requires you to assist us"

  • Freedom requires that the sword of Freedom be drenched in blood from time to time and Woe be to the generation that fails to drench the sword

    in blood when Tyranny arrives.

for they will have on their heads the loss of freedom for their children and grand children.

  • wow your an idiot

  • calfropingfordman: Cut yourself making believe you're shaving again?

  • Can you not just ignore crap this and walk through?

  • well, the bottem line is, I don't approve of the abuse, but the law does protect citizens rights. The spca tried to conducted investigations on private proprty everywhere. It is unlawful and you need a warrart or probable cause to investigate. In this case your just taking a shot in the dark.

  • shaydyknight: This was not simply private property. It was a public event. And no one was stopping people from carrying in camera-equipped phones.

  • Also, how did you get these clips in the beginning of the video if you weren't allowed in? They probably aren't even from the Wauconda rodeo.

  • xMLGp3rfectionx: Those clips were from a previous taping at Wauconda. It's interesting you're more concerned with thinking you caught us trying to fool the world than in the animal injuries that are apparent in the clips.

  • Dog Fighting in Illinois is illegal.....a Rodeo is not.

I highly doubt you or your organization was sanctioned/approved by the IL Dept of Agriculture to investiagte an animal cruelty complaint. I'm sure they have their own investigators to look into complaints like this. Why would they pick you?

Your obvious pre-existing bias on this topic would disqualify you as an unbiased gatherer of facts.

  • mjnr7777: Your 'highly doubt' proves you know nothing. Do some research and you'll be proven wrong.

As for bias, there is none. After 16 years of documenting rodeos, we've proved rodeo is corrupt and rife with crueltly.

  • After looking at your web site, I highly doubt that you are who you say you are.....Humane Inspector that is. What qualifications do you have? What training do you have? My guess is that this is a passionate hobby of yours, and passing yourself off as an expert on animal cruelty is disceiving.

  • mjnr7777: You can highly doubt all you want. Our credentials prove you wrong.

  • OK....I will call a buddy of mine at the IL Dept of Agriculture tommorow.....we shall see.

  • what are they??? your credentials? i love how all your videos are so one sided... you never, once, in any of them attempt to take a look into the other side of the story. its all persuasion against instead of letting people see both sides.

  • DuneRdr: We're Illinois-approved Humane Investigators.

And exactly what is the other side of abuse stories? The defense of why people have the need or twisted desire to hurt animals?

As for not letting people see both sides, complain to the PRCA because they don't allow the abuse side of their rodeos to be seen in videos, photographs, or on television.

  • I am shocked ,Why isn't there a law suit brought against these officers and the rodeo?? If the law says you have the authority to video tape and enter the property? Time to sue!!!!!!!

  • These same cops who would say to you "If you've done nothing wrong you have nothing to hide" A thief thinks everyone steals.

  • those are some fucked up cops

  • privat property! privat production! non ileagalactivity! three good reasons your lucky hee didnt take your camera from you!

  • everytime you do these videos youve always got your homework done...like all the laws and where theyre from...thats awseome

  • "The laws are interpreted differently" - What a sorry excuse for corruption and cruelty! So much for the "respect" of the law. Pathetic!

  • I hate our towns police..there paid by the rodeo... to do not let you guys probably..a while back they wouldnt let us in after we brought in signs that read RODEO=ANIMAL CRUELTY

  • Are you guys Agriculture Officer's or work under some sort of animal program?

  • DaogMan21: We are Illinois approved Humane Investigators.

  • so you do work for the state or are u guys vollenteers

  • Daogman21: We are a 501c3 non-profit organization with Illinois state credentials to investigate animal abuse. All but one of SHARK'S Team, including the president, are volunteers.

  • oh I see

  • I am an animal control officer and i do security and observe rodeos we make sure that the animal are humanely treated in all aspects but I was wondering what is that cowboy poking the cow with at 0:44. I would also like to add keep doing what u are doing. good job.

  • DaogMan21: It's a Hot Shot, and it's against PRCA rules to use it at the chutes. It's a rule that is consistently broken.

  • That cop at the end was lying. He was being paid by the rodeo. I could tell by how his demeanor changed. Plus, cope routinely work "overtime" being paid by the companies that needs the security or police monitoring traffic through the station as security for construction companies and more. Just thought I'd note this.

  • bevinallison: yes, a lot of cops moonlight as security with permission to wear their uniforms.

  • those cops and cowboys are idiots , they cant even talk right , what a bunch of losers !

  • it doesnt look as though you provided proper identification along with a state issued picture id an also did not have permission to enter a private event without warrant so any video can only be done on a public roadway.any first day humane officer knows that.

  • cowtoy101: This wasn't our first rodeo.

  • shark your not a humane investigator, you just dont like rodeo and you need to get a life and stop talking about it if you hate it so much

  • iowacountryboy13: You may not be a real cowboy, but our people are real Illinois Approved Humane Investigators.

  • um, this isn't even about weather he likes it or now. It is about the fact that local police were not allowing government officials to legally video tape at a venue in their state. If there is nothing bad going on then why not let them in? Duh, comes to mind.

  • Okay, basicly they are a Illinois approved humane investigatores but the thing is they don't want to let them in because their scared that they'll rip off their dirty little work. So they ARE allowed in just a fyi, the police and rodeo oners, workers, sponsers just are too scared to let them in. So I would keep your mouth shut. It seems like you have a brain and you should know that. And SHARK has enuff facts to investigate. So they should be allowed in.

  • You guys do such a great job, Those cops should have lost there jobs. Hopefully something can be done soon to stop this cruelity.

  • dave74x: Thank you.

  • I fell like the woman did something wrong and we didn't get to see. Did you have some kind of permit to show that you worked for the state or license?

  • kyler309: Yes, Illinois approved humane investigators are issued cards identifying them as such.

  • These cops seem very uncomfortable. Their job really sucks.

  • those guys are morons its a state law they are only little town cops

  • My husband was a rodeo volunteer last year. Shark showed the police a very unofficial fax copy that they claimed gave them the right to inspect. I think Shark takes a little piece of half truths and distorts the facts in their presentations that edit together old video from years ago & other places to make it appear to be current. There are many true animal abuse cases that deserve attention instead of this well run rodeo. I have never seen an abused or uncared for animal at the Wauconda Rodeo.

  • wauc526: In fact, SHARK's attorney was in touch with Lake County State's Attorney Michael Waller in advance of the 2008 Wauconda Rodeo to advise him of the authority of Illinois approved humane investigators to investigate even on private property. Mr. Waller, as has been his history, was combative in his efforts to protect the rodeo, and the Lake County Sheriff's Department behaved similarly. State law in fact requires that state's attorneys and police cooperate with humane investigators.

  • wauc526: Cont'd Therefore, Mr. Waller and sheriff's deputies acted in violation of state law.

With regard to your claim of a "well run rodeo," Michael Latting, owner of Latting Rodeo Productions, was convicted of animal abuse a few years back after SHARK investigators caught him shocking bulls to make them perform. The Wauconda Rodeo has been exposed for animal abuse numerous times over the years.

  • Do you mean a rodeo is a moment of grace for animals?
