  • Great job with the video! As far as the lyrics go.... your guess is as good as any :p

  • Ahahaha hilarious xD

  • hahah that was great! .. how did u make the video?

  • This song is in English with some lines that are not Spanish , mi "mano izquerda", nor French, son neveu, and I am inclined to believe that they are in Agni, as 121Melinda has indicated below.

In many ways I agree with your opinion, zakimar. But the English language can be romantic as well, when used properly. Likewise, any language can be used disgracefully. It is important to speak kindly and in love no matter which languages you happen to use.

  • I enjoyed your video John Doppler! Nice touch in using the black background, it works well with the song.

  • awesome! nicely done

  • A boom boom bâ, Can you hear my heart beat in this world

A boom boom bâ, Do you know that behind all these words

A boom boom bâ, Lies a deep desire Kamélé hé !

A boom boom bâ, Mé kouman mé fora y bamê

Are my dreams to be all I can do ?

Lay o lay above, lay o lay below

And he said Anny will show them a new way

Mé kouman mé fora y bamê

    Kélé, fila, saba, nani, norou

  • Boom boom: the beating of the heart...

ba: child (in Agni, an Ivory Coast dialect). Therefore, the singer's heart is beating for the children of the world.

    Kélé, filla, saba, nani, norou:

    1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

    Kamélé: boy.

Mé kouman mé fora y bamê:

    Understand what I'm saying.

Aligna donguiri ma digné Mé kouman mé for a y bâmê:

You don't need to like my song to understand what I'm saying.

  • where did you find the lyrics?

  • awesome. thanks =)

  • Some random comments.

The literary term for mishead lyrics like this is "mondegreen" look it up on wikipedia.

If you like it, search youtube for "buffalax" - my friends nearly pissed themselves when they saw the buffalaxed video with "you are pumping my retard."

And last, but not least, prostitution is legal in most of the world - like Canada, the UK, France, Germany, etc. Only really schizo places like the US outlaw it (and even then it is legal in rhode island and parts of nevada).

  • Thanks for the info! "Mondegreen" is my new word-of-the-day!

And yeah, this was written from my egotistic American perpsective. I've had a number of folks chastise me about the prostitution comment -- these folks are very protective of their prostitutes!

I stand by my assertion that there are better ways to make money, though, especially if you're begging for customers.

  • @Geckoplex

Whroing is legal in Holland aswel there are even redlight streets xD

where its like a living playboy and the Ho's are behind windows xD

    but anyway cool vid =]

i actually love this song and itwas kind of way how u made it fun of

but still respectfor Metisse and her song =]

  • prostitution is not legal in canada well at least in montreal

  • DonBigScar - prostitution IS legal in all of Canada, including Montreal. Just google for "prostitution legal montreal" and you will see.

  • first I don't need to because I'm right here in montreal but for the fun of it I did google it and it approved my point there's blah blah blah on how you can easily divert the law.

    QUOTE :

"Prostitution is illegal in Canada, including Montreal.

Escort services exploit a somewhat arguable interpretation of the law as only solicitation for profit from sexual intercourse is forbidden. Escorts are considered "accompaniment", not implying sexual intercourse de facto."

  • DonBigScar:

From the very first hit in searching google for "prostitution legal montreal"

    QUOTE:

"Prostitution is legal in all of Canada it has been part of the Federal Criminal Code since at least mid 1800s. It is similar to British law and laws in much of Europe"

What is illegal, according to the canadian federal criminal code is:

    (210) Operating a "bawdy house"

    (212) Procurement (aka pimping)

    (213) Public solicitation (i.e. street-walking)

But, there is no law criminalizing prostitution.

  • A boom boom bâ !

    A boom boom bâ !

    A boom boom bâ !

    A boom boom bâ !

( "Boom boom" is the beating of the heart. "bâ" is "child" in Agni, an Ivory Coast dialect. )

( The singer's heart is beating for the children of the world. )

    Kélé, filla, saba, nani, norou

    ( Counting: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. )

  • Caramel egg!

  • LOL i loved it :)

  • Funy video. Can anybody tell me what program is used to make ideos like this one. I want to make guitar karaoke with the chords displayed and this looks like what I need to do that. Thanks.

  • I cobbled this together as a Flash animation (Flash CS3 Professional), then exported it to video.

Hmmm. If you have the right coding skills, you might be able to make a versatile Flash application that could be reused for different songs. There might be a market for that!

  • LOL, I was crying I was laughing so hard! this was great! (...carmel egg? LOL) Great video, by the way though, does anyone know what the non-English words translate to? Is that really Galician as I have read, or some other language?

  • Glad you enjoyed it!

I've been told the lyrics are as follows:

    "Kélé, filla, saba, nani, norou" = "1, 2, 3, 4, 5".

"aligna donguiri ma digné" = "You don't have to like my song..."

"Mé kouman mé for a y bâmê" = "...to understand what I say"

    "Kamélé" = "boy"

The song's lyrics have a mix of English and Agni (an African dialect). The singer, Aida Bredou, hails from the Ivory Coast.

  • I think you're mistaken.

Métisse's version was published in 2000 on the soundtrack of "The Next Best Thing", with writing credits to Aida Bredou and David Sullivan (Métisse).

The Gomez version was published in 2004, according to my sources.

And I happen to like my gnus lightly frosted, thank you very much! =)

  • it's written by Aida Bredou & Skully and performed by Metisse I don't know where you got your infos. And by the way it's misheard (or mondegreen) lyrics so it's a mishearing or misinterpretation of the phrase. If you read the lyrics and think that's what she says you are one stupid guy.

  • i love the song, but i laughed my ass off

  • OMFG!!! I tried to type out the real lyircs, but I cant use enough characters, it says the message was too long even though the character count below me said 108 characters remaining. Fucking youtube!!!!!

But anyway, nice vid, hilarious. 5 stars.

  • sugared a gnu... XDD

    THIS IS BRILLIANT!!1

  • Wow, these lyrics are so wrong it's hilarious

  • This is so funny! Excellent job. I really love this beautiful song but the lyrics do allude me. Just hope your witty images don't ruin it for me!

  • @ MsBHoopingAllure ~ Elude, not Allude (unless you mean to say the lyrics make an indirect reference to you...)

  • i love that at the end "pleas buy their alubum so they dont sue me "

    thats funny!

  • Quite entertaining and cute; 5 stars from me!!

  • 2:36 - 2:45 = Hilarious!

  • FWIW, I'm hearing "Somebody lend me noodle?"

  • i always just hear one "boom" though like "bah boom bah"

  • Prostitution is not illegal everywhere. Here it isn't :D just a note.

  • Rofl! Sorry, Arishime, I was speaking from my usual egocentric American perspective! Still, if one needs to beg for customers, there's got to be better career choices... =)

Just out of academic curiosity, where is "here"?

  • I've read so many variations of these lyrics everywhere but I have to admit this one is hilarious. Good job XD

  • Haha, very good.

  • LOL - loved this song and memorized the lyrics ever since i heard it in the madonna movie "the next best thing" - now i think i'm going to start singing it with your awesomely funny lyrics!

  • This is so funny. I still don't know what they lyrics are about, but this "translation" is as good as any. What a crack-up! And I love Metisse.

  • Thanks for the kind words! I love this song, but after a few hours of trying to puzzle out the lyrics, I just had to poke a little fun at it. =)

The song's lyrics have a mix of English and Agni (an African dialect). The singer, Aida Bredou, hails from the Ivory Coast.

    "Kélé, filla, saba, nani, norou" = "1, 2, 3, 4, 5".

"aligna donguiri ma digné" = "You don't have to like my song..."

"Mé kouman mé for a y bâmê" = "...to understand what I say"

    "Kamélé" = "boy"

  • Rofl! loving this phonetic interpretation! I have this song on CD single and was always intrigued as to what the words were too. As far as I know they're a composite of a few different languages, English & French to name but two! Well done on the vid though. Adding it to my faves now....

  • Very nice :). Loved the Philip J. Fry picture too. I wonder if there are actual lyrics out there somewhere. I've seen like 3 or 4 different versions of people attempting to decipher what the hell she is saying, but I don't think anyone has it quite right.

  • hahahahahahah! Love Dead Like Me... love this song... love your spoof!

  • HAHAHA!!! that is absolutely brilliant! Love the song but like your version better - now I know the words.

  • nice one!

  • ROFLMAO!!! Love Metisse, and LOVE your vid!

"Especially if you have to beg for it." Brilliant!!!

  • Lol !

    Real lyrics at myspace(dot)com/metisse

  • I never thought I would see R Kelly and Phil Specter together... Nice! Pretty funny. :)

  • Pfft, are you kidding me? I think their arraignment hearings were in adjoining courtrooms...

  • I knew we sugared a gnu, eh? ROFLMAO!
