  • Damn! I hate when I don't have coke either!

  • Eh? I wonder who voiced Grimmace...he sounds familiar :O

  • McDonalds had commissioned Sid and Marty Kroft to design characters for their new marketing campaign aimed at kids, but then McDonalds changed their minds. Soon after, they came out with this commercial, which was a blatant rip off of Sd and Marty Kroft shows like "H.R. Pufnstuf" and "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters."

  • I bet if John Hinckley has computer privileges in his cell he has this post favorited. (For younger viewers, Hinckley was the guy who shot President Reagan in the early '80s. It was alleged that he did it to impress Jodie Foster, who he had a massive crush on.)

  • Ah yes. Back when Grimace was a bad-guy.

  • Grimace was mentally retarded?

  • You don't see Grimace any more because he died of trans-fat induced heart disease.

  • ok so Grimaces first name is Evil? The begining of the commercial it refers to him as the Evil Grimace, then Ronald addresses him as E. Grimace when he hands him his mail. So the origin of Grimace was he was evil. Also notice that he has two extra arms on the bottom holding milkshake cups. So the original grimmace had four arms.

  • Mcdonald is friendly,,,french fries is my favorite

  • holy crap if they replayed that commercial today on tv i would buy mcdonalds.

  • Jodie foster was the little blond girl. Wow Jodie Foster looked so girly in this commercial. In Freaky Friday she looked like a tomboy!!!

  • Not creepy. If anything, the cinematography is actually pretty good.

  • I`m had stand so desorientated..

    There is NO Jodie Foster?

    She`s so similar.

  • Sorry but this isn't Jodie Foster...it's maybe the girl from Poltergeist? Not Jodie at all.

  • bullshit look at her closely dumbass the commercial was made in the 70's the girl from poltergeist was not born in the 70's

  • Gosh this is kinda creepy.

i think its because of the pervert looking ronald mcdonalds & shitty type glob. i just hate their voices. especially ronald's

    *scared and hides under blanket*

  • Jesus Christ, this is a bit too creepy for me.

  • what the hell? Grimmace was evil?? my world is spinning out of control. but yes. I had a crush on Jodie Foster when I was a little kid after seeing her in Tom Sawyer. heh

  • I guess Grimace reformed when he lost his two extra arms. (I remember when he had them.)

  • LOLWTF

  • Estaba chiquitita

  • that had nothing to do with jodie foster

  • shes the little blond girl (:

  • Gasp! Grimace was a badass?!!

  • @mastmedia He was a badass!

  • What!!!

Nobody noticed that Ronald McDonald is Hymie the Robot from Get Smart?

    Wow I'm getting old.

  • NO.

According to Bernie Koppel, who was in Get Smart, as well as The Love Boat, Ronald McDonald is the guy who played Schtarker, the KAOS Henchman (King Moody), Hymie the Robot was played by Dick Gaultier, who later played Robin Hood in Mel Brooks' When Things Were Rotten.

  • Thanks for the great bit of trivia.

Starker was the funniest character name on TV.

  • wow! blast from the past. big macs used to taste so much better in the old days. what happened?

  • They saved the world.

  • The voice of the off camera announcer

    is the late Bob McFadden.

  • Lol, that was just pure crap! McDonald's used to be bad.

  • Haha I love it! Thanks!
