Great Days!!!!! I miss those days of my youth! Lol. Those were the days, adrenalin inducing gameplay. The wait for the C64 Datasette to finish loading, then away we go!! The C64 was a machine ahead of its time when it was released. Its a pity that all games weren't released on the cartridge format.
I played a shoot-em-up on the C64 years ago that looked way better than this... wish I could remember the name as it was easily as good as R-Type, X-Out and all the others. Still, despite the game I enjoyed watching the vids.
I'll have to go round my mates house and ask him... he's still got all his old games for the C128. Armalyte and Katakis I remember, good games if a little difficult.

Are you thinking of Armalyte or Katakis (aka Denaris)? Those are two of the best-known shooters on the c64.

Great Video, especially seeing as how there is an upcoming Smila remake. Both games should be played together!

Thanks! Once the remake is done, it could be interesting to see some kind of comparison video, maybe split-screen or something. Old vs New!
