@EnergyDrank1996 Her initial first album was great, but her second album flopped HARD. Like terribly hard. So she didn't sign back with YG and left. The CEO of YG (Yan Goon) was really hurt behind it, but he just let her go. And with Lee Hyori and BOA taking the spotlight, there was too much competition I guess. :(
@EnergyDrank1996 Me too. If I knew about Korean music at that time, I would have DEFINITELY supported her. But American music didn't suck when I was growing up, so I really just listened to American music. Now that I delve into Korean music, I love all these old artists.
@Starfire10982 i know what ya mean. but i'm not from america but i listend a lot to pussycatdolls rihanna and i dont know what more. but now i only listen to kpop xd but than more to the new music and sometimes old.
@EnergyDrank1996 Lol same here. It's good to go back to the roots of K-Pop. I mean, I love a lot of bands today, but sometimes, the best are from way back when.
@LeeMasterz as if. Lady gaga debuted back in 2008 while Lexy debuted in 2003 and in my opinion Lexy has more style and a better voice. I dnt mean to offend anyone but comparing Lexy to Gaga is kind of insulting because they are too totally different genres
@LeeMasterz are u retarded...when this woman was on stage lady gaga was just stefani joanne angelina germanotta....u have no fucking idea who lexy was and still is...no amount of make up outrageous outfits and pretend antichrist shit can masque talentless people..don't talk shit abt ppl u have no info abt ok...lexy has been in the business for over 10 years officially not to mention the time before she debuted so stfu ok
i really don't understand why Lexy wasn't very successful. She is so talented and her songs are the bomb! I absolutely love her! What the hell was s.korea thinking?
@eliteBQSS Part of the problem is that even in today's world, female rappers/hip hop artists don't usually get taken seriously. 2NE1 are very popular, but most fans I talk to, just like them a lot, they don't necessarily take them seriously or look up to them. And it's a shame really, because women like Lexy, and 2NE1, are very strong women, and great role models for those their age and younger. But instead, the world looks at SNSD and Girls Generation in awe.
@eliteBQSS They're very superficial, and they have a reputation for copying other female artists. Girls Generation are worse though. Like their music video where they perform the song in a locker room with a giant window that all of the male football players can walk by and stare into as they change. The fact that they are willing to promote that is just ridiculous.
@theartbook35 oh, i see your point now. Oh, snsd & Girls Generation is the same right? just clarifying. anyway, yes. I kinda agree that they hv the reputation of copying other female groups, what's worse is, the group whom they copied from is the one accused for copying -.- But maybe it's also how their company markets them to their target listeners that makes them ridiculous.
@HbarMagnus she wasn't fairly successful. well, she became a rival with Hyori for a while. Though her debut album was well received, her 2nd album Lextacy flopped when it was released and due to the poor sales it prompted a decision by YG Ent. to not renew her contract. It was mutually decided that there wouldn't be re-signing of her contract, but they still wanted to carry out the 3rd album.
@eliteBQSS I don't get why all the best k-pop artists seem to never get a foot-hold. Hell just look at E.via lol. That girl has got god like skills for sure. Yet once again same thing as Lexy. What is really stupid is US labels aren't even that harsh. I know of many that have flopped their second round only to come back stronger. What a freaking shame though. Outside 2NE1 YG just doesn't have the depth it needs even though I respect them a lot.
@HbarMagnus Lexy's 3rd album RUSH was on the charts for a few weeks, thanks to her title song Above The Sky', but sales were not as strong as her debut album. Perhaps the rivalry from other artists caused her to be overshadowed by others, bcoz, Hyori is really popular back then, even now..and group artists just abruptly kept on popping up.. so..yeah.. Y.Y
is lexy from YG family?

@theartbook35 i see your point, but i'm confused. is there something wrong with looking up in snsd?
i mean, i like all groups coz I believe hating will just get u to nowhere, but what's wrong with snsd?
