@Swhs2012 Hello I went thru the same thing... Didn't like s&w because it feels too big for my hand, and the look is not what i was looking for. I heard ruger mk III is hard to disassemble and you might need a soft hammer to put it back together. Better looking that s&w in my opinion. I bought a mosquito I like the feel and to me it looks more like a "real" gun size is perfect. There r a lots of videos complaining about malfunctions, but that happened to the old mosquitos hope this help good luck
Does any one know why the new Mosquitos don't have the lubrication hole on the right side of the slide?? Has sig changed anything internally to the new ones and are the new ones better then the old with the hole??
@FastDravv It sure looks like a 90% sized full size sig...it does look nice..though I will have to video one that I think looks better...it's called a Sig Hammerli Trailside....i just got to find it because I dunno where it's at.
I'm 13 and my dad took me to the gun store for the first time and I got this gun! I'm so excited, I'm going to pick it up after school tomorrow at 3:45 ish. It'll be my first gun ever, I've never even shot a gun so I'll probably suck, but I'm still very excited!
@Epsciss You have a fantastic father...don't ever forget that of what he is. Be sure you say "I love you" too. That would mean the world to him. Congrats!
Hi there varmint. So tell me, what made you decide to purchase the Sig Mosquito?? I looked thru your vids & I must say you really do have some really fine, excellent pieces in your collection. So, I'm thinking If HE was to purchase the Mosquito, then it must be good. So Have you fired it enough by now to come up with a yea or nay?? Thanks Sincerely,d JAMES.
i just bought one and it fires pritty well with the mini mags. But almost every single time the last round will jam kinda like in the mag , the slide will come forward and jam. Also i cannot load a full may of 10 only 7 and under if i load a full 10 every single time when you hit the slide release the slide will jame and not load the first round any clues?
I got my Mosquito last week & it shoots great. I have 1500 rnds through it so far. Due to the "cheap ammo bashing" I expected alot of failures, but It worked good with the Remington Copper plated, and Lead nose bullets from Walmart (both aprx 1250 fps). About every 150-200 rounds I have a FTE. I also tried CCI Mini Mag (1235fps), and CCI Stingers (1640fps). I equally experienced FTE's with the expensive CCI, so I'm sticking with the cheap ammo now. Maybe I lucked out, but I like mine! ~SteveB
I bought this in pink for my girl about 8 months ago nothing but mini mags work with any sort of reliability, i shoot all the time with the pink rocket for $7 a 100 rds at Wallymart WAY cheaper than any of my pistols. In all i dont think its bad but wouldnt trust my life or the life of my friends and family on it
I had mine for 6 months. Onlygot it so i could have fun target practice without using my 45ACP and 9mm. Tried 7 different ammos none worked well except the CCI MINIMAG (HP 36 grain) the 40 grain shot terrible. Thing was just too picky for me. I sold it 2weeks ago and got a Beretta U22 Neos. Ive fired 3000 rounds already all dif loads and brands of ammo. No jams
I own a Ruger Mark I .22 . This is the BEST, .22 semi auto handgun ive ever shot, never jams , uses all ammo. The one i own is the 50th anniversary edition they came out with about 5 or 6 years ago. Fantastic gun. My only complaint if any is its a little difficult to reassemble the first few times. After you figure it out its not so bad.
I love my Walther P22. It's accurate for the 3.4 inch barrel. It's fun as hell to shoot and can even be used for concealed carry. And it has NEVER jammed on me.
I love mine. The sights suck, the trigger sucks, but with practice you can get good with this gun. Getting good with this gun only makes you even better with centerfire pistols.
Also make sure you have the correct recoil spring installed. Sig supply 2 springs, most people think that one is just a spare but that's not the case, each spring has a different tensile strength - one is intended for high velocity stuff such as Minimags and the other, which isn't as strong, is intended for bulk stuff.
well, wat ammo have u shot when we bought the gun it says u should on use cci ammo because its very picky...it promotes cci haha it gave us rebates for more bullets so we bot 500 rounds off ccis
I purchased one a couple months ago. It is a huge disappointment. I have tried different ammo. All of it jams when the slide comes forward to load the first round. I am going to send it back.
Early mosquito's sucked... mine was produced more recently and it's been awesome. Cleaned the factory grease out, oiled it up and it's been reliable... though all I have shot is CCI ammo. Accuracy is pretty good and it let's out a hell of a 'pop' for a 22. Feels awesome in ones hands. Good stuff.
I own this gun, and am trying to get rid of it ASAP It was honestly a huge disappointment. If you use something other than mini mag to fire, you get multiple jams each mag. .22 handguns are made for fun at the range, because they're cost affective, and should simply work. The Sig wasn't cost affective(more than other .22s), and having to buy special rounds to get it to behave "OKAY" isn't fun. The one thing that I will give this gun is, it's pretty accurate when it actually shoots.
I own one too and i have shooted around 5000 rounds with it. Usually CCI Minimags and standards, but sometimes remington thunderbolts. Mine mosquito has worked pretty well. Offcourse theres been some malfunctions, but lets say it jams 1 time in 500shots. So its pretty good. Im sorry to hear that your mosquito doesnt work that well :(
Have you ever encountered a fail to fire with your Sag Mosquito, like the hammer would strike the retainer but there would be no bang? Its wired I had to pull the hammer back and try again then it would fire. I just got this little gun for plinking and so far I just had the fail to fire problem but had no FTF OR FTE using cci mini mags and the heavier spring.
When the safety is engaged does the hammer still release when the trigger is pulled? I just bought one and I'm used to the safety on a beretta 92, which when it is engaged the trigger moves but the hammer does not. On the mosquito I just bought, with the safety engaged the hammer still releases as if the safety wasn't on at all.
I dunno IF I like this pistol..can't say it shoot great..and I've been having feeding issues here and there when I shot it. Compared to my Sig Hammerli Trailside..this thing is not match. I'll just keep this one for the little one.
I had one of these. Not as good as my ruger 22/45. The ruger is harder to field strip, but a much better .22.

gun looks kinda cool, though it seems a bit too large for a .22 pistol. it'd look better as a 9mm imo
i'm planning to buy a walther p22 btw, any comments from anyone who owns one? i'd sure like to hear some before i buy it. cheers!

1127raymond 2 years ago
I haven't shot the p22 enough..however, IMO, the best bang for the buck .22lr pistol is the Ruger Mk series.
varmintgetter 2 years ago
@varmintgetter Definitely! Ruger makes great 22 pistols. I still want a SIG in 22 LR though.

I just purchased a pink mosquito today and after holding both, I as a woman, preferred the SIG. It is balanced better and sits better in my hand.
