Had a friend from college who went to Utah to get a great start in the job market with an employment offer. He couldn't get the job because he wasn't a mormon. They own Utah and are a larger, softer, more polished and politically crafty version of the flds. Jim Jones should've taken his cues from them. He'd still be around and I'd be paying my taxes to support his scams instead of the flds.
My "negative" sources include the public record of Joseph Smith's multiple trials for running confidence scams with very similar themes. The fact that we have in his own writing him changing his story and embellishing it and making it more fasntastical as several decades go by.
If you belong to a religion, you believe all of it. If you notice they haven't changed the book of Mormon, nor have the Christians changed the Bible. Follow your instruction manual
Hinkley was a great propogandist and a beloved saint and Prophet. It is true that those who practice polygamy seldom worship in LDS Ward buildings. There is a long list of people to whom this doesn't apply. Those whose parents practised polygamy and who do not do so themselves are not banned from LDS wards or youth programs and since first wives often begin to practice polygamy in middle age, only a husband with another wife can be excommunicated--her civil marriage and LDS ordinances remain.
You are a worldwide criminal organization that continues the fraud Joseph Smith began over 150 years ago, and unlike most Christian sects, it's all on the books. You need to be arrested, tried and convicted right alongside your modern day Scientologist brethren. You DO believe in polygamy, just like the inferiority and cursedness of black people. It's just politically inconvenient to do so and interferes with the cash flow.Otherwise all those polygamist pockets in Utah would be raided in a secod
@skinmomz88 Oh I'm extremely well researched. Mormons typically have no idea what is actually in their texts or their actual history. Same with Christians, Muslims and most of the other religions. The difference is that if you actually cared to spend the time to research it, the truth is right there.
I still can't believe how many Mormons don't know about Space Jesus and Kolob, or refuse to admit it publically just like Scientologists and Xenu
@WickyWoo1 So they should be arrested + convicted because they go to a church? There is no perfect religion, or members of any religion who haven't done abhorrent things. Welcome to humanity, unfortunately you are perpetuating this with the I am right and you are wrong attitude. If you were well researched as you claim, you would look at all sources, not just the slanderous or negative view.
You clearly want to make a point. I don't know how this would actually change your life for the better.
This video is misleading. No, in LDS men and women are NOT equal; men have the "power of the priesthood", women have practically none, just supposedly at home, but certainly not at church, except over children. Men can have multiple wives in heaven, women only one husband. The principle of celestial marriage, i.e. polygamy, has not been removed from Doctrine & Covenants.
Mormons believe that men and women do have different responsibilities in the church and in their families, and also shared responsibilities, but we still believe that men and women are equal.

If Monson asked for your wife, what would you do?

The truth about polygamy and other misconceptions.

Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were Mormons last time I checked, but they were definitely polygamists.
The truth is that some Mormons do practice polygamy, just not modern members of the LDS Church - who are excommunicated if they do.

Who just happen to be naive enough to follow the devil himself if he has a good story.

like the pharisees of old, you try to associate the devil with the people of the Church of Jesus Christ.
I guess your types are consistent!
