I dunno, when you get two albums that sounds almost identical (kid A and Amnesiac) you know a band is going through a stale moments. Don't get me wrong I love everything they have done, but it just got too repetitious during those years, even morning bells was given a second shot. Regardless, lyrically, nothing touches ok computer and the bends... well, thats just classic. but yea, too each is own.
first of all, kid a and amnesiac don't sound similar at all.
Kid A is timeless. it never really gets old, it only gets better. OKC and The Bends are full of anthems that get old over time (Just, Bends, High and Dry, Karma, No Surprises, Airbag - even Paranoid Android), and right now I'm mainly interested in the other tracks like Climbing Up The Walls, Bulletproof, The Tourist and Let Down.
Nothing in Kid A ever gets old. you only appreciate it more with time. BTW Morning Bell is amazing.
What? I thought it was great, well at first I didnt but near the end I did. So fuck Ya! and I thought this video did a great job on making books come to life. They all were dead and that shot at the end looked really cool with the book case behind it not moving.
I love books and I love radiohead, and I like the video but i just don't see books going together with the song. I dunno when I hear it I think of that which is anti-books really, burnt papers, ashes on snow, fire in the distance, broken buildings...
damn !!! a grat video !!! so alternative !!! god...i didnt liked the idea of only books...but your video has so much as an alternative proposal...great job !!!
try reference sections at almost any real library. they are the usually dark recesses of libraries, containing volumes and volumes of nearly every topic. i used to work in one and it was amazing just seeing the rows and rows and rows of any magazine you could think of, many dating back 100+ years.
Yea... there was a lot of scurrying around and hiding after each shot so that the librarians couldn't kick us out. Plus, the students studying in the library weren't too fond of us
i liked the first 50 seconds but i would suggest that you should try opening the books...like focusing on an open window with a lot of breeze and suddenly the books fall and pages go crazy passing on. but thats only me...it could be a hidden msg of freedom of speech as a contrast of the song title "idioteque".
Screw you fearsome, do ANYTHING creative and then you can speak - otherwise, shutup and continue being a stupid, conditioned-complacent American. Thanks and enjoy!
Thanks man, I'm glad you like it. Embed it, spread it, show it to others if you think it deserves to be seen. We tried to make an interesting film using mundane, boring, bland subjects like those of the thousands of books in the library and we think it worked. Thanks for the comment.
Such an easy concept, yet such a brilliant product. Clever, creative and constructive... Books is proof that a low budget means nothing to the best of filmmakers.
Not impressed tbh. If it's a video piece, then you probably shouldn't use a WAY stronger audio than visual, especially when they don't really suit. Also, invest in a tripod.
I am not impressed with your comment Mr. Fearsomestmoocow (even if that is your real name). You are missing the whole point of the video. Yes, the author of the story states that these books are warring, but to me they are committing suicide. As for asthetics it's a beautiful film. I think that you should invest in a brain, the director did use a tripod, it's obvious.
I know that you're probably disgruntled because Radiohead is your favorite band and the director didn't use this song to what was up to par for you in your head (the one that sits atop your pencil-thin neck and without a brain). So please, keep your dumb comments to yourself. jackass.

I did say, and I quote "off most arguably their best album," which implies their best album is certainly up for debate. Thanks for the comment though.

awesome video dude. i watched it stoned. quite interesting. I'm curious as to the title of the last book.
orihck 4 years ago 2
Ha ha. Good deal man. That was the way it was intended to be viewed.
The title of the last book is The Universe in a Nutshell by Stephen Hawking. Wrap your chemically altered mind around that.

shit, I guess ill have to watch it again...still great though.
