Anyone fortunate to have known Brad personally was blessed. He was such a humble and friendly guy. I think stardom made him uncomfortable. I was lucky enough to have gotten to know him years ago...late 80's into the mid 90's. I hadn't seen him in years when I learned of his passing...but I was deeply affected as I'm sure many were. It's a loss that I don't think will ever get easier..that's how kind he was....
Tom and Barry. Two great guitarists . Perhaps that's why they couldn't get along well enough to continue playing together. You know, jellowsy of the other's ability.
It happens all the time between talented musicians. And that's sad.
Brad, well, that was no competition. He was the best.
One of the many benefits Brad & others volunteered for without hesitation. This was just four months before Brad's untimely, tragic death. The world not only lost a nice guy and a humble rock legend, it lost a great humanitarian who used his gifted voice for great causes that he believed in and e would also just jump in to help in his own community. God bless you Brad!! Karri
what a tradgedy, i saw Mama Kicks two weeks back in Londonderry,New Hampshire at Whippersnappers,my brother in law playes Bass from time to time with the band. it was agreat show!, would have loved to see this show too.
Unfortunately I never had the chance to see Brad in person He truely had the heart and the voice of an angel, he will be greatly missed. Thanks for posting this and keeping his memory alive. God Bless Mike Briggs, his family and friends.
This was a tribute to Mike Briggs MPD 83.He was senselessly shot one year ago tomorrow. He died the next day. I loved Brad too. But lets not forget the brave men and women who lay thier lives on the line for our safety.
Man, I live a half an hour away from here and I really wish I had gone! Especially knowing that this was probably Brad's last time playing a Boston song.
Fran Cosmo is a good vocalist but he will always stand in the shadow of Brad. Tom actually learned how to play guitar from Barry...true story. Most of the songs from the first album were written by Barry but reworked by Tom thus giving him more credit then he deserved. Makes you wonder if Tom is really about the music at all when hes suing everyone.
Barry created and played the leads for Long Time, the intro and outro leads for Don't Look Back, the solo for Used to Bad News, and all the guitars for Let me Take You Home Tonight
Popper really had a great time. When Delp started singing he realized who it really was and was all smiles. Everyone was really good to perform for such a great cause!
Thanks David! Thanks for hanging with me outside before this performance talking with Joe Haliday and me. I won't forget the talk us three had in the chilled air that night. Then Josh Logan came over to talk. Man, what a night.
Don't know if anyone has answered you but there is a vid that is slated to be the last recording of him on 3/2/7. Search the user kstrange and they have it posted.
I was cruising the NewHampshire coastline around 3:30 pm listening to hitch a ride on the radio when I heard the sad news :( Besides his incredible voice what I remember most is Brad`s gentle friendly personilty :)
yeah, i pretty sure that Scholz helped to create the guitar solo, but barry was playing them live because Scholz was playing the piano and brad only played the rythmic guitar
yes sorry had a few beers last night ! LOL Well it seems Barry didnt most of the solos live and his solo guitar work has the same feel and phrasing :)
No disrespect to Barry who is an AWESOME guitarist but it was actually Tom who played all guitars on the first 4 albums. Barry was brought in to be part of the "Band" after Tom and Brad got signed.
Man....where do you get your erroneous info? From the Tom Scholz propaganda machine? Sheesh! Barry created the lead work for Longtime AND played it on the first LP.

It was an honor to be there not only for this performance but also to be apart of the support for the family of officer Briggs.
Our prayers are with his family.
