  • I was reading a Touhou doujin titled "The Flying Dutchman" while listening to this.

  • wagner inspiration for metal, and maker of the best classical songs ever

  • Wie viele Stücke von Wagner absolut heroisch.

  • do u know the flying dutchmen in spongebob :)

  • is it just me or do all the youtube versions of this feel way too slow and plodding.

  • @Azriel123456789 Truth

  • @Azriel123456789 As far as I know there hasn't been anything like "bpm" or exact tempi "to be played in xx seconds" in that time. I have read an articel which said that the Karajans of this world played many things much too fast. Example: If you listen to Mozarts "Rondo alla turca" you will notice that it is played very fast most of the time, but it is supposed to be a march, like the turks marched onto vienna. It is not "running away". Maybe this ouvertoure is played slow to show some "storm"?

    It's just you.

  • Beautiful piece of music. Yes, the painting is "The Flying Dutchman"

  • @AnthonyJK1982 i don't like the painting, it's too much pirates of the caribean style.

In the real Flying Duchman Myth it's a ship with a black mast and red Sailings.

  • @moeituniet: "flying dutchman" maybe? ;-)

  • 'Simply' amazing...

Beautiful painting too, what's the name of it?
