Great song but with all versions of this song being fairly standard (no extended jams) this recording is not nearly as good as others let alone "best ever". Vocals on this are somewhat in the background. The 1980 "reckoning" version is probably the best recording IMO. All live acoustic and was being recorded for release.

sometimes something happened when the boys played noone else has ever come close to, i've seen a lot of concerts by many different bands and grew up around musicians, i play myself.

Sure i saw the boys play terribly more than once, but i also saw performances that were so unstoppable, so immense that nothing ive seen or heard since has gotten me anywhere close. I really miss it. I had this show on bootleg for years, it traveled the world with me. Nice show, first Wharf Rat ever, IIRC.

I saw the Dead 4 times in Vegas and each time was a memory that I will never forget, but the biggest memory was when the stadium was struck by lightning and all of us holding on to the railing sure got a different kind of high :~) then after Sting performed The Dead came out to a rainbow.
