  • Ichiro has power, he has admitted to having 2 separate swing styles. During BP he will wing as most other players do but during games he prefers to be a slap hitter. He says he prefers small infield hits over displays of power.

  • song name?

  • @Churupluable Weezer "Island in the sun"

  • yeah on espn they had clips of ichiro BOMBING balls on the 2nd deck in safeco feidl

  • Ichiro has more BP power than anyone in the league. I'm not kidding. I go to about 30 Orioles games every year and stand in the flag court out in right field during BP to catch home run balls, and he'll hit 10 or 15 balls up there. He's not eeking them out either. I have personally seen him hit the warehouse during BP, which is 432 feet from home plate.

  • I think you need a little more shake and blur in your videos. Thanks for the headaches.

  • I've seen him take bp a few times...it's amazing...he really destroys those balls. When Richie Sexson was with the M's on the same day, he couldn't even get close to hitting it where Ichiro was.

  • Im going to spring training this March! YAAAAAYY!!!! Totally gonna bring my camera!

  • and to top it off hes not a natural lefty!

  • @jraydiazjray You're not a natural anything...

  • yeah, ichiro has a ton of power, but similar to derek jeter he doesn't swing for the fences every time he is at bat. which is also why he hardly ever strikes out, and bats .360 or whatever, and has 200 hit seasons.

  • i heard he hits a ton of homers in bp

  • he does, however his father knew that he was fast so he said that he should just go for base hits, even though he could win the home run derby, if he were entered in it.

  • i dont know about the homerun derby man. haha

but ichiro is a natural talented athlete with a great arm. thats why hes one of my fav. players.

but if there was a competiton like hitting singles with 9 men on the field

    HE WOULD WIN.

  • haha, if there were a competition of hitting singles with 25 people in the field he would win hahaha

  • @osunason I donk know man, I think he really could win the derby. You just have to see him take BP in real life, its really amazing he just sits there and cranks em out over and over, it doesnt even look like hes trying very hard. He has admitted that he uses a different swing in BP and he doesnt try to hit homers in games.

  • @ChrisFlipsAlot

Yeah; i've never witnessed him in BP. hell yeah bro; i'm sure he does damage too. Ichiro Is one hell of a player and can't wait till he's honored in the Hall of Fame.

  • @xxpauliegunzxx Are you his father's friend?

  • @nakedvolleyball no I've just heard all of this from MLB when they talk about Ichiro

  • he would do great in the homerun derby. people give him shit for not doing what he does in bp in a game.. but tons of guys every year are putting up .270-30-100. nobody else has had a 262 hit season, or many other of his feats. i only wish the mariners wouldnt trade away some of their potentially good rbi guys as his talents dont get to be showed off as good when hes stranded on base so much.

  • what is the name of the song?

  • island in the sun, by weezer

  • thank you

  • apperently this guy can hit 415 ft consistantly in BP, i guess he wants to stick to the control part of batting.

  • What is this music?

  • and what i know you can't do is: hit 3 balls line drives to left field, 3 up the centre, and pull 3 balls to right field all line drives like ichiro can

  • ichiro can blast it, but they put him 1st in the order to get on base and get the team on a run, hes an amazing all around player

  • he doesnt do it in games cuz his job is to get on base, but every now and then he swings for the fences and crushes it

  • yeah sure you cn hit a bp home run, but can you get over 200 hits in a season , 7 times in a row?

  • htting a bp home run isn't saying nothing i'm sure plenty of hs players who could never even make the minors could do so as well

  • Ichiro watches stand at practice

  • what are you talking about?

  • sorry some paper carried

As part of his regular batting-practice routine, Ichiro tries to swing

for the fences, and he routinely produces Home Run Derby-caliber blasts

    into the right-field seats.
