Morris dancers are a surreal sight! Especially I'm sure for the guy with the fat joint at 6:08

These events were really good back in the early 1970's, when just a few hundred peace and love hippies collected there, all there together for a common reason.

But unfortunately the event has become too popular now, too restrictive and too commercial.

Now, sadly, the event is spoiled by hordes of any old common or garden, er, council-house Rabble, who have not a clue about the original purpose and meaning of the visit to the stones on that special day.

I would say to anyone who comes down. "Bring what you expect to find". That's an old phrase but it rings truer here than anywhere else. Translated this means if you want to hear music bring some instruments, this follows for all other things you might want..

I agree with you. thousands of good people just wanting to soak up the atmosphere for all the right reasons. Alwways going to be spoilers wherever you go and out of 47,000 people was not bad at all. I went with my family for a very personal reason,it fulfilled all our expectations. I Cannot wait for next year!!

I know! We were there from 7 p.m. and stayed through until 6 a.m. and the drummers never stopped the whole time!

it was awesome i loved it i got into the ring and found the best place ever getting lifted in the air too see ya all in the centre by 2 girls was amazing and was even better that they were both hot and beautiful lol on the saturday i had my friends brown staff dog with me and every 1 thought we were the sniffer dog team lol mad heads if only ya new and sat night was wicked also ... was on the inner west side at sun rise with 2 beautiful girls around my neck

"where was everyone walking to at the end?" - Going home! Seriously, they were pedestrian arrivals who were going to get the bus servoce to Salisbury. It would of course be easier to have busses going to the site, but English Heritage don't wasnt to encourage people to attend - quite the reverse in fact, so anyone who attends the Solstice at Stonehenge has a great deal of walking to do...

In the same time, i did the walking myself several years ago as well, a good way to let the expierences get into your system. It's such a mad event, a nice walk trough the beautiful landscape must be better compared to a bus where your are being stuffed into...
