DPS Troopers Caught Ignoring a Car Driving the Wrong Way

My SWTOR guild has no use for two DPS Troopers. I told them to reroll or they are kicked out.

@jmecrg Look closely and use you’re head. The trooper’s partner can sit behind the driver in the back seat and have the prisoner sit next to him. This way the front passenger seat is empty and the prisoner is kept away from the driver. Cage or no cage.

There was nothing those officers realistically could have done. They couldn't chase with a civilian in the police cruiser. And the wrong way vehicle, turning at the intersection behind them, would have been long gone in any direction by the time they called and another police cruiser arrived in the area.

I know when I'm transporting a prisoner we aren't allowed to do traffic stops or anything like that. And if they radioed for another unit to stop him, he would've been long gone by the time that unit got there.

I agree that these cops should have called it in....but nothing beyond that. Taking any other action..including trying to follow the guy the wrong way...would have simply put the prisoner in danger. And truth be known....calling it in would have simply "looked" better...90% chance the guy would have been gone anyway. The trainer knew this and by the time he told the rookie to get on the radio the chances would have dropped even more so!

The cops couldn't do anything with the drunk driver in the car. If they had gotten into a car chase or a shootout or anything the prisoner would have been endangered. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

You say the cop must ignore that and keep headed to jail? At what point does the cop go after and stop what is very likely to end in someones death? Or if anyone sees a cop with a suspect headed to jail they now can act out because they know that cop is out of order? Your ideas are as crazy as the cop in this video...

@2xtream if you watch the tape closely the vehicle turns off just after passing the cop car. there were no other vehicles behind the troopers. there was no one in eminent danger like in your "woman and child getting shot at" scenario. the vehicle exited the roadway and was no longer posing a threat. what if they would have got into a car chase with the prisoner in the cruiser. would that make you happy?
