Quick Question, i have the cd and burnt the file iso. ophcrack vista from the website onto the cd and booted it fine. But one thing is that was not Ophcrack, it was Ophcrack on something else forgot name. It was sort of like a program like you boot the cd and it ran your computer like normal without password. I got the live cd from the website and downloaded live cd vista. Try for yourself, i think somethings wrong

download imgburn and then burn the image file to a disk. then once this is done, pop it in and your good to go.

lol.... download Windows Vista Live CD and copy paste into the CD Drive (with a CD in your computer) then when it's done simply take it out. With XP you have to tell it to burn, but with Vista it does that automatically when you press eject.

Then there is a better app for that. Its also on a bootable CD and then just choose what account ya wanna change pw on and then rebbot and use the new password. Taadaa!

XP. I tried on a laptop that I received from school, so they've might blocked some functions.

I've managed to get through different blocks by using programs (partition hd etc.) instead of the functions that's already in Windows.

So there's still no hope for me`? Do u know what they blocked, that prevents me from loading Slax/Oph Live cd?

nothing should be blocked at all just have to boot it through the begining (dos)

and it should go through

if it still doesn't work then reformat it can put XP on it yourself!

Actually a lot of school computers have a password in the BIOS which doesn't allow you to change the settings and boot from CD

well if it is a Desktop computer on the motherboard atthe bottom right some where is a circular battery just take it out for like 10 seconds (MAKE SURE THE COMPUTER iS OFF!) and put it back in and the BIOS will be resetted

Yea that'll do the trick on most computers... but I believe Lenovo (IBM) has some kind of security feature that locks up the hard drive when you remove the CMOS battery... other than that you're probably correct

depends on your definition of old, I guess... both computers I use are 2-3 years old...one hp, one toshiba. I just burned another copy tried it again and it gives me a disk error 80 message.

sounds like whatever your using to burn ISO images are not working or your burning the ISO onto a dvd instead of a CD or if not that then your are burning a CD then doing something eles that takes up Process time and fucks up the Buffering on the CD or your CD Burner is going out!

Im not sure, but that happened too me, and i fixed and got it to work. I clicked on "Tables", and you have to like install the tables, or one of the tables, for me, i installed vista, so that way that red dot next to it changed to a green dot. I have vista though!

what you do is restart make it put read your CD-ROM / DVD-ROM first

after doing that you must save the settings and restart again

then you should get alot of stuff going on and then it gives your choice just pick the VGEA mode!

I'm trying to get into a Dell 5100 Inspiron laptop. I downloaded Ophcrack and went into Bios to boot. The cd begins to boot and the slax page begins but then nothing happens. It's as if it goes dead after that. The CD drive continues to run becuase I can hear it but nothing else occurs.
