You should have put the boat in dry storage. This guy is a dink (dual income no kids kind of guy) who would rather have his teeth pulled one at a time rather that commit to a girl, no matter how perfect she might be for him. Good luck anyway. How old is he now, 40's?
Interesting video! Having been aboard both Nor'Sea 27s and BCC's (and owning a smaller Hess design myself, M17), if wanting to move to one boat, the BCC would've been my choice too. Looks like you guys are living the good life! Enjoy!
@MickScarborough Thanks Mick! I'm not doing this to impress anyone. I'll live my life exactly as I need to. Daphne was for sale because Ben and I decided that in order to afford to travel more we needed to reduce expenses. No I'm traveling aboard Elizabeth. But I'm still the same person, and since we both love sailing solo, we try to give each other solo time too!
@SailingSimplicity I love your video but you may need a bigger sailboat :) Both those boats look too small for two. Maybe sell Elizabeth and upsize a little for a bigger adventure! By the way, your cuteness adds to the video appeal and I love your words of wisdom… less is more! Keep up the vids... you Narrate and the dude is the camera man!!
@MickScarborough Yes, Elizabeth is for sale too. We are always trying to do what is best for ourselves, and what will further our lives in a positive way. We are trying to live out our future goals.
I just found a sailboat last week that I could actually buy. It doesn't have an engine in it anymore though. Is it doable to only have sail power? I will be living in it.
@tegmccall There are limitations such as where you can go and when you can travel. Some say that engines can break, so better not to be reliant on them. Well, so can sails! You can learn to repair both, no problem. For safety reasons, I always think it is best to have an alternate mode of propulsion. Depending on the boat, a good set of oars could be enough! Good luck.
I absolutely commend you for living aboard a sail boat. After all these years my wife and I are learning to sail and plan to live aboard and travel the rest of our lives. our small retirement will take care fo some of our needs. Working in US islands or stateside should add to the money pot. I'm excited. Been thinking about it for 30 years! Right on to you!
There was a gentleman who sails alongside you sometimes. My first thought was why not sell both boats and get a big one.. I mean unless you are not interested in him that way. I know for myself if I did not have a son that I am very much in his life I would do something like this no problem. I liked your one comment that less is more and it's so true. I do not like having all this junk and clutter in my life. Your a very inspirational person to me so I am subscribing.
Teresa, thank youuuuuuuuu! thank you so much!!! I just love all your videos and keep watching you over and over again!! you look so deeply happy, all the time smiling, when I watch you i feel rivers of happiness awakening inside!! I believe in you!! Thank you for sharing!! Love and hugs from spain!!
Fab professional video and great you love it so much - I've done it a long time and have got a bigger boat but ..... the smaller the boat the greater the fun !! Go baby go ! Whereabouts are you sailing ?
Nice intro with the music... At 1:00, Did you get to the top of the mast yourself or did your friend help out? (Considering going solo someday myself)
One way to save some cooking/heat energy is to use something like a thermos. You can actually cook in them. It's called something like "heat retention" cooking....basically because there is minimal heat loss with the double glass/vacuum bottle of the thermos which allows more time for the food to cook and no extra heat energy is needed once the water is initiall boiled. Here's some example videos:
BRAVE N TALENTED YOUNG LADY ,I CAN SEE Y SHE ONLY MADE ONE VIDEO BY THE REMARKS ITS BOUT SAILING NOT BOUT HER LOOKS OR AGE!THANKS BOUT THAT INFO BOUT CAT NOT EATING CORAL POISONED FISH@ SKIPPER.
Cats can save a life. They will not eat fish with coral poison. Cut off some fish, cat eats you do too. Westsails rule. Keep on sailing, hope for more clips!
Cats are perfect pets on board, our cat liked Tug Boats, something about the sound of their engines. She and I singlehanded to La Paz Mexico from Puget Sound and she helped stand watch and keep the seabirds off the boat.
THE WORLD NEEDS MORE WOMEN LIKE YOU.great video was actually enjoying to watch unlike alot of other liveaboard videos on here keep on keeping on your doing one hell of a job

Hey Teresa. You probably don't remember me but we anchored our catamaran El Gecco next to your boat in Miami last month. I helped your boyfriend on the Bristol Channel Cutter with his refrigerator. Did he get it going? How cool to see you on YouTube. Keep chasing your dreams. Great job on the vid. Markley

@tegmccall Its doable but for emergency situations you really do need a small outboard to help maneuver
