I have seen several professional performances of Cats, including both in London and on Braodway. When looking at the sets, the costumes, the makeup, and the vocal quality, then learning that this is a high school preformance, I think this was an outstanding rendition of the musical.

The girl singing as Grizabella was good, but as some have said, she doesn't have the mature voice for it BUT... she's in high school, so easily forgiven! I wish she hadn't been 'smiling' so much and instead had that same suffering look that comes out of the Broadway shows.

No one has pointed out that the Jemima does a really good job. I wish they had thrown a spot light on her so we could have seen her and that she could have held the end of 'flower' for just 1-2 seconds more to really draw it.

PLease help! I watched the Cats show in San Diego in April 2008 and the singer of "memory" was SUBLIME! the best version I have ever heard! SO much more depth and strength than this one, the whole audience got up and applauded the singer (for a long time!), it was that amazing, who was that singer? because she has some vocal cords!!!!!!!!

Her vocals are really quite good, but her voice is entirely too 'fresh' for this part. Hers is not the voice of a mature diva. Give it time...

Totally agree with you. Her voice sounds too young, whereas Grizabella is supposed to be an old cat.

This is the kind of song that only a much older and seasoned performer could ever pull off -- the emotions are just too complicated for a high school student to understand. But out of all the high school versions of this song I've seen on Youtube, this one is the best. Good job
