  • that is some big ass butterfly's

  • you wack da disapwuin

  • its ofcourse staged lol. everyone can do it

  • absolutly brilliant. quality fighting techniques guys. keep it up

  • Those actually are chinese butterfly knives. The things that we think of with the spring latches and hinges are modifications.

  • @BringOnMusic actually, those are butterfly swords. the guy who typed the title got it a little wrong. The butterfly knives, or balisongs, are the ones with latches, and hinges. No springs though.

  • @igloo77881 "Proper" translation IS actualy butterfly knives but they often get the moniker "butterfly swords" to avoid this very confusion.

  • not butter fly knifes but this is a nice form

  • not butterfly knife!

  • I took kung fu and i just want to make sure that everyone gets that this is a form. Entirely scripted. That said, Great vid

  • if all fights went on like that........ no one would have to die in battle xDDD heck, wars would be spectator sport.

  • Is this an actual battle or like just a show?

  • fake fighting

  • Harpoons win. Flawless victory. Babality.

  • Too much demonstration and flair. Disarming lol

  • Very good. I should be learning this set soon. The two of you are really dedicated to the art.

  • Me vs both of them

Me: 0:08 slowly pulls out 12 gauge shotgun

  • FAKE AND GAY no not gay but fake I call fake on this just look at the acting jobs look how he knows what to do so quickly and the music what's with that so I call fake on this

  • @liamnish65 I dont think it was ever any secret that this was fake...

  • @liamnish65 O'RLY?

  • @liamnish65 Obviously its not like they want to kill the other person.

  • lol another guy called toogoodtobetrue expert in martial arts ''knifes are deadlier .if u kno how to throw one'' dude... if you would be fighting with butterfly swords and you would throw them at ur enemy's, that wouldnt be a smart thing to do >.>

  • Those are butterfly swords.

  • e no Tibia o paladino tem pouca defesa... '-'

  • it might just be me but it seems kind of choreographed?

  • @jugglingod It is choreographed you goose. It is a wushu competition sequence. If it were not choreographed someone would loose a limb LOL. Choreographed movements are for the purpose of training and demonstration and this does not mean they are any less difficult or less effective to perform as a martial art.

  • @jugglingod it is choreographed .. it will be much fluent and faster if it wasn't i think .. Real fighting don't look gorgeous... and real fighting means 1 winner and 1 death

  • 0:43 :3

  • -_-...

  • Great demo thanks for the upload! :)

  • are thse butterfly knives? they look hella big...but what do i know?

  • @liZaRds285 no, I'm almost certain these are butterfly swords. Butterfly knives are more like switch blades.

  • ultimate stalemate?

  • spears are also deadly when you know how to throw :-)

  • cute dance

  • THAT FAKE i think :7

  • @mrpizzadude123 yeah hah... it's all staged... still pretty cool though .. there is a name for dance things like the one in this video but i don't remember what it is.. i'll let ya know when i remember

  • @wolve118

    two man sets

  • more like butcher knives

  • chris farley!

  • it's interesting how American learn Asians stuff :DD

  • THIS IS HOW STREET FIGHTS ARE IN CHINA

  • @martymendoza HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAA

  • @martymendoza lmfao

  • just kick him in the balls and run like fk

  • best kung fu on show ever seen - really

  • @alekx58 that wasnt kung fu O_o.

  • These weapons are technically classed as knives (dao).

In Chinese armoury a dao or knife is a weapon with one sharpened edge that is used to slice, hack or chop, irrespective of the size of the blade.

On the other hand a sword or jian has a straight blade that is sharp on both edges and is used in an evasive and stabbing attack.

  • Historically, the Butterfly Sword is a uniquely Southern style Chinese Kung Fu weapon because of it's association with Chinese pirates plying the South China Sea. The Butterfly sword was used by the pirates because long sabers was not practical for hand to hand fighting in the tight spaces of a ship. It is highly probable the sword design was inspired by encounters with Western swords such as rapiers and cutlasses used by the Spanish, Dutch and English sailors who were there in the 1500s.

  • BGM: 我们唱着东方红,走进那新时代。~~~lol

  • these guys look way better than chinks ............

  • bullets have no honour

  • is this for real, or is this a practiced exercise

  • @tundraman217 its practice

  • it is all leathal if you know how to use it

  • And Indiana just smiles, tip his hat and shots the dude...)(>,,>)/P

  • good demo...glad it went off without any ...incidents......Ive seen what happens when mistakes take place with Kali sticks.........

  • i WOULDNT WANT TO BE ON THE WRONG END OF EITHER!!

  • This was more of an demostration that a fighting match. Good job

  • you know its not really clear lol

  • Soooo. . . who won?

  • very good!

  • damn, i wanted to hear the corny oriental music come to a record screeching stop after that dude got stuck with that spear.

  • Lol

  • Another clarification - in Kung Fu, those actually are called "butterfly knives". I don't know why, but if you've ever seen them spun properly, you'll probably guess why. Jesse does a really cool one man set with them, and when he spins them, they look like they're fluttering, so I bet the name has something to do with the technique. I'm sure some Google research would clear it up, but it's fun to BS too.

  • As well, you may notice when they block with their forearms, they are hitting full force. Jesse's forearms are insanely hard and conditioned like a Tai Kick boxer's shins. We all did forearm training in his school by practicing two man sets. When fighters from different martial arts would spar us they became extremely discouraged when we batted their arms down with our forearms to get inside their defence. Forearm training is hell but once your conditioned you feel indestructible.

  • I was a friend and student of Jesse Gooding, the guy with the butterfly knives. I see allot of people commenting that this is fake. Well, let me dispel the mystery. This is called a two man set. There are many two man sets in Hung Gar. Other martial arts call these "fake" fights forms. It is supposed to help you with your technique and balance and give you good habits. Its like practicing layups as a B-ball player, or hitting the padded sled as a football player.

  • those arent butterfly knifes, those are bayonets,i think...

  • this is all just play not even real. Fucking stupid.

  • thats a naginata not a spear

  • @verbaltag Qiang spear, actually. Naginatas are Japanese, and have a longer and curved blade.

  • @Ranrun1 looks like a naginata but i guess without a closeup you cant really tell

  • @verbaltag The Red feathers give it away.

  • so if he would have thrown one of those swords (not butterfly knives) 3 second in he would have had that fight made in the shade lol. but it was pretty damn cool anyway

  • That's not butterfly knife it's Machete.

  • What's up with crossing his legs? I thought that was a no-no in all martial arts?

  • nice demonstration, but spear will win if you keep the enemy to your distance

  • lol soothing music just doesn't fit

  • This is a well practised choreographed dance, not a demonstration of of the true skill of adapting to constantly unpredictable and changing angles and variety of attack as real kung fu does, as a kung fu man i'm really sad to see this as it shows everything that's wrong in kung fu when it is degenerated downward into a spectator sport.

  • i lilke how everyones all impressed when it was clearly staged and shit. :P

  • @HardShark93 um that was still an impressive show.. it was meant to be 'staged" lmao

  • @HardShark93 still one false move and that could be a decapitation if enough force is but on the knife

  • srs trolling srs

  • lol that was such a gay kick on 0:47

  • So... The spear wins?

  • that was cute

  • lmao what would be funny is while these guys were bouncing around and yellin ya ha some random dude just walks out with a mossberg 590............ game over

  • Yeah those are butterfly swords. Butterfly knives are shorter and have a different type of handle which resemble pliers.

  • cant spot butterfly knife

  • is it real?

  • @daebrun1 yeah it was in center la and as ancient butterfly knife rules state, once both men are weapon less, they stop fighting and bow infront of an audience that gathers on a weekly schedule. asshole

  • chuck norris vs. chinese man the epic battle haha

  • screw the knife, screw the spear, i'd rather have a Glock or a Desert Eagle.

  • @IamGaara39 screw the glock or the desert eagle d rather have an atom bomb

  • nc but thats not a knife it a sword

  • knifes are deadlier .if u kno how to throw one

  • @Toogoodtobetrue You can throw spears as well.

  • @CompOfHall ya an if u miss then wot? ur weaponless duh

  • @Toogoodtobetrue ya an if u miss then wot? ur weaponless even if you threw two Balisongs as well.

Besides have you ever tried to throw a sword? Its really not an easy feat, throwing a spear on the other hand is much simpler.

In the right hands most any object can become deadly. You can not say any one weapon is deadlier than another... unless you are talking explosives or vechicles or guns... Ugh..

Knives (spelt with a V bytw) can be very deadly, but it really just matters on who is using them.

  • @Toogoodtobetrue even if ou know how to throw a knife you still need to know how to aim

  • @Toogoodtobetrue what are you 8?

  • @Toogoodtobetrue Spears are deadlier, If you know how to trhow a spear. haha

  • @JoshMeister4789 true... true... but you can throw both knife and spear. so knife and spear combo... hmm... mmight not be so bad

  • @remboy3000 I did martial arts for a long time, would be easier to go for a torso stab with the spear and then lift out and stab their knee. Or whack their kneee, hard to ecplain over the internet.

  • @JoshMeister4789 awesome :D

  • @Toogoodtobetrue what about someone that can trow a spear?

  • @Toogoodtobetrue

    Bullets are faster

  • @Toogoodtobetrue

    Bullets are faster AND deadlier

  • @Javjean Bullets are for pussys

  • @harri685 pussies and soldiers. might mot be a good idea to say that to them

  • @Toogoodtobetrue stones can also be deadliy if you know how to throw them 8D

  • @gwidao123 Hahahaha.

  • @Toogoodtobetrue Great. Takes you 30 years to learn how to through one properly and accurately.

  • @Toogoodtobetrue Actually throwing knives are one of the worst weapons you can use in combat.

  • @Toogoodtobetrue guns are deadlier, if you know how to use one

  • @BrandonOwnesU

Mortars are deadlier, "if" you can use them.

  • @Toogoodtobetrue casue you can't throw a spear XD but i can agree with you.

  • @Toogoodtobetrue not really lol. you can hardly throw a knife and be one hundred percent accurate with it, and at the same time makeing it a killing throw by throwing it hard enough. even if you're a master of throwing knifes, you are basically just throwing your weapon away

  • ima go watch crouching tiger hidden dragon now

  • 打得好,比很多中國人好多了~

  • those aren't butterfly knives..those are butterfly swords.

  • it was cool at first. then I realized they werent actually fighting.

  • Yummm XDD

  • i see that most hung ga users are stocky

  • beautiful choreography

  • chineese ppl cud beat yo asss

  • Manly Dances

  • While this is very good, in a real fight there would have been several open opportunities for one person to hit/stab/slice the other. One example is at 0:18.

  • nice kali moves

  • those are butterfly swords

  • @pikanoob Yeah, I meant to say, "butterfly swords." Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the clarification.

  • @pikanoob

  • Holy crap, that was done beautifully. I don't know why people "dislike"-ed it.

  • now Sword Vs Tonfa!

  • see those wide stances? well, a good Tae Kwon Do practitioneer will sweep them off their feet, and then beat the shit out of them! Still, I love the weapon styles!

  • @WEcantorek Yeah, 'cause taekwondo practitioners win fights. Keep your garbage to yourself.

  • @jeffdoeskungfu

    Casse-toi!

  • @WEcantorek a wide stance makes for a strong base good luck in sweeping them out. research horse stance

  • staged

  • @ImFreakinDaniels proud of you!

  • Pure poetry in motion.

  • Cool

  • those werent buter fly knives

  • @magicdevil97

    they weren't chinese either

  • @magicdevil97 oh yes they are...they have been called butterfly knives/swords long before the first balisong existed

  • @magicdevil97 Yeah, they are not balisongs, but these are also called butterfly knives I think.

  • @kiwishizzle

we called them butterfly swords in choy lee fut but i guess it might vary a bit depending on translator.

  • @magicdevil97 there real butterfly knifes not balisongs or other flashy peices

  • wow this looks better than primary and secondary school performers

  • Badasses

  • of course its staged... someone would have been dead if it wasn't

  • It looks pretty good, i'm pretty convinced it was staged, that much is obvious, but it LOOKS a bit staged, thats it weakness

  • was this staged? it looks like its's staged, but hopefully it's not

  • please don't be planned. if it is, you guys would kick ass

  • 是否林鎮輝師父系的呢?

  • I have to take ReignzOfBrainz side because he has some obvious major points. First off, (which I think is ridiculous) is that Tonboxchoco says any race or color can be a nigger. The very word nigger derives from the word Negro which means black in Spanish. Also I think it is hilarious that tonboxchoco thinks he is at all winning at this debate. Just as reignzofbrainz stated, tonboxchoco is fighting things reignzofbrainz never even gave the slightest notation of. I am just delighted that people

  • Pretty kickass

  • yeah, scripted

  • totally scripted but still epic

  • thoughs are butterfly swords

  • lol it was like that kung fu pana scene when the panda trains

  • these are butter fly swords

  • A pair of short fat men pratting around with weapons? To call this choreographed fight amateur would be quite the understatement. A little more practice, a little less "demonstrating".

  • @lolololgod

Well it *is* a demonstration (notice the crowd and the background music?) not a fight to the death.

  • Seemed rather prepared

  • that was beautifully choreographed, hold on, let me watch it again, it was just too amazing to watch only once.

  • what is this!!??

    weres the mortal combat stuff?

    he dint even finish him

  • butterfly swords are sooooooo good. great defense!

  • Fantastic demo! Thats the way those blades should move! :D

  • too bad fights dont rlly happen like this

  • Why aren't there more Napoleon Dynomites commenting "FAKE" on this beautiful piece of art?

They usually gravitate towards videos such as these.

  • FAKE

  • @TommyBloxxer fking troll

  • @TommyBloxxer was soll daran fake sein? its hung gar kung fu and not a fake!!!!

  • arent those machettes? still food vid tho

  • talk about choreographed

  • @swiftkillz lol, are you serious? What were you expecting? A REAL knife / spear fight?

  • @morningstomper123 I was. :(

  • those arent butterfly "knifes". I can theink of the actual name, but what he is using are commonly called butterfly "swords". The are essentially a very shor broadsword (dao)

  • This is a great duo form. Good for cardiovascular and balance.
