  • This is an example that fast times are secondary to winning races. The man in second was Mark Nenow, who had the American record for 10000M. he could run fast, but he never made the Olympic team. This is the analogy that should be used when people say that Prefontaine would have won in Montreal because he was running fast times in the 5K. He still had to race athletes that were far superior in tactics and running fast in the final 200m.

  • non c 5ème, il y'avait 4 chronos notamment le RM de mamede (27.13) et son dauphin carlos lopez (27.17 même course) et l'ex RM d'henry rono réalisé en 1978 (27.22).

    Mais bien entendu, Said Aouita reste le meilleur de tous. c incontestable.
