@goncalopestana he did it against the friendlies vs argentina and spain in 2008, n he wasnt getting any playing time at all, he juked puyol several times
Hey all, hows it going? you like football manager games right? i found this cool one online footy-manager com its very similar to the football manager game. check it out. its pretty cool actually.
Adu needs to return to the MLS... sad to say.. but what the hell is he doing club hopping over there and riding the bench?? He can get back on his feet in the MLS just like Donovan did.
MLS players sometimes make the biggest mistakes of their lives by going to Europe just because everything think they should go. Well guess what MLS is a league too just like any other league, we need to grow our own players before sending them out.
naw i doubt that. he could be like landon donovan where he is great in MLS but not as good in a certain country in europe. for landon it was germany. for freddy i think its portugal. his trial at manchester united went great.
to me i just feel he would do better england. like jozy atldore he didnt get much time in spain at all like he did in new york but now he is in hull and he is getting more time. he too needs to improve though. the rest in next comment.
to me it just seems that since he was raised in the US he would do better say in England. i know the coaches at Belenses and benfica know english but i just feel that for him he would excel or get better in england. Djemba Djemba he didnt do so dandy at Man Utd but he went from place to place and got his career back together.
plus i mean he is only 20. he has time to improve.
yeah he is still young and jozy is a great example, he needs to improve his finishing though or he'll end up as sort of a emile heskey type player, eric djemba-djemba is a bad example though, as he's playing in the danish league now.
it could be worse for djemba djemba. i really think Adu should 've joined a danish team or a prem league team like hull. im saying hull because for some reason a lot and i mean a lot of players in prem league are getting injured that before and he would get decent time there. and really in denmark the danish teams are really giving the americans a lot of game time look at benny filhaber and some others adu would've gotten good game time but lets see how much time Aris will give him.(next comt)
they said that the aris loan is the final deciding factor of whether adu is heading back MLS or not i really think he should take a stab at a danish team before going back. again he is still young. going back to MLS is not the end of the world. he play there for 4 years and try europe again. u know he will grow some and get some muscle. he would fit in great at one of the prem sides like hull or stoke, he should even try his luck in the netherlands, americans tend to settle well there because they have a similar culture, and in the netherlands they speak english, and its hard for an american kid to play in portugal or greece when they dont fancy the language, atleast he has eddie johnson at aris though.
i mean he is doing so far at aris. 2 goals in 4 games. like he scored one goal in one game and another goal in his following game. and eddie johnson's first aris goal was assited by freddie
and i heard in his last game he actually assits one of the three goals and also scored one of the three goals.
i do agree many americans do settle well in netherlands. atleast michael bradley and demarcus beasly did. some of them suited well in sweden too. like benny filhaber and charlie davies.
i think he should see out his contract at Aris he is getting back in form. i think bob bradley might chose him to be in an internatonal friendly maybe not eddie johnson yet but i think freddy adu has a good chance at the next international friendly. he just needed to find the right team in Europe and i think he found it after developing in aris for a few years he should try to make a move to a bigger club like what charlie davies and oguchi onewyu did.
wow this young ghanaian footballer is really tallented. i hope GFA check him out. adu i hope se wo beba afie na wo abebo football ama ye national team. i wish you luck.
Real Salt Lake has their own new stadium now. That was just the temporary field. Rio Tinto Stadium is the name of it. It's pretty nice. You can probably find it here on Youtube.
thats good..i hope u americans keep putting more spirit into football/soccer(as call it) bcuz its a beautiful sport and its a shame for anyone that cant enjoy it as it is!
From sweden huh? Great footballing nation there. I mean, only a man from sweden could lecture a nation that has done better regionally about putting more spirit into the game.
You don't know what your talkin about :P Freddy played for Benfica in the Portuguese Super Liga and is now playing for A.S. Monaco in the French Ligue one.
His a pretty good playa, well i think his the best USA player all times,(i dont come fro the US,im swiss and brazilian),well hes pretty good,i like those goals he shoots
This kid sucks. He is older than what he claim to be. Pele,Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldihno at his age were doing big things. He can only big in US. This are his last chapters
He's an interesting player, and will probably be much better in the future with more games (at a high level) under his belt -- if he can cope with the increased speed and technical demands. I cross my fingers for the States to get a fun player to watch, in internation matches. :-)
I can't help but wonder if, while calling games with gridiron marks, the announcers are like "he's at the 40, the 30, the 20, the 10... GOOOOAAALL!!!!"
He is at AS Monaco now. One year. Purchase option.
I wish him all the best.
He was being wasted at Benfica.
I hope he continues to study. AS Monaco has everything for that, and has teachers and professors contarcted to help young players go on on study. As Adu was brilliant at school i hope he grabs that chance too.
Benfica begins this season lossing doing this thing!
yeah, he's got all what he needs he's fast and he got nice skills, but there' somethin hegot to learn: the fast play in europe, when he learned that, he can be as good as ronaldo. But for that he got to work harder than ever, and of course there shouldn't be too heavy injuries....
Benfica have Reyes, Di Maria, Urreta, Pablo Aimar and more.. Adu don't have a place now in Benfica. I wish he could grow up in AS Monaco this year to return to Benfica next season!
Let's get some things straight here... There is no1 in the world of football who has faster feets than C.Ronaldo, his skill with the ball is amazing! In fact, C.Ronaldo must be compared to players like Ronaldo, Ronaldinho... Adu.. Maybe in 10 years
oh no u did not motherfucker!! did u just say that freddie is shit you nasty motherfucker! im speechless try to make it in a soccer league u suck shit motherfucker
Brazilian league is beyond the American 'Soccer' Leagues by far
Santos Sao Paulo could take on most european sides and put up a brilliant game...
MOST of the greatest players in the game, and in today's game are BRAZILIAN
want names?
Ronaldinho, Pelé, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, the young n talented Anderson.. the great Adriano, the next best european striker Fred... of course MY team's brazilian EX golden boot winning Afonso Alves..
you can't beat south america for skill and flair...
haha have you ever heard of kerlon or celsinho man you dont kno shit saying theres no famous brazilian under 21 except anderson your funny and what you just said shows how ignorant you are when it comes to futbol haha
you 2 assholes know nothing about football! Freddy Adu had to develop physically and mentally! Playing in Portugal is an honor and a good chance for him to grow with way better talent surrounding him in Europe. Second,he will be more than prepared for 2010 and isn't that what it's about? Stop hating on the young man and let him grow. Jealousy is a Bitch made trait.
He only did 10 games at Benfica and scored 3 goals. He always sarted the games in the bench and now will be loaned to Monaco for one season. He need to improve much more if he really want to be one of the best football players of the world. He has tje potential but need to work very, very hard.
He is not even considered one of the top 50 players today. Give me a break. Latin America has a long line of better players who are better. LEts start with Messi,Robinho,Manco, and the list goes on and on NEed i say more??
DId i ever say he was from Latin America??? I said that LAtin America has a long line of better players who are better, regardless if Edu is from USA or Nigeria, etc. THe point is: Latin AMerica has produced the best players in the world today. From Pele, Maradona, messi,Robinho,Aguero, etc....get it
Actually yes he has...I'm a Benfica fan and he has been playing. He's gotten a couple game winning and game tying goals for us.
So what if he plays for Benfica? Ummm it's better than playing over in USA or France or Germany. Freddy Adu has a lot of potential and he is a good player but no where near what he can be
search Marcus Hairston. They play similar!

DId i ever say he was from Latin America??? I said that LAtin America has a long line of better players who are better, regardless if Edu is from USA or Nigeria, etc. THe point is: Latin AMerica has produced the best players in the world today. From Pele, Maradona, messi,Robinho,Aguero, etc....get it

has he actually been playing for benfica..so what if he plays for them
malcomejones 4 years ago
Actually yes he has...I'm a Benfica fan and he has been playing. He's gotten a couple game winning and game tying goals for us.
So what if he plays for Benfica? Ummm it's better than playing over in USA or France or Germany. Freddy Adu has a lot of potential and he is a good player but no where near what he can be

Technically yes but he only goes in the field for one minute if anything, fuck head... anything else????
