Please review some of the other How to Videos that are located on YouTube for proper use of the Concept II Ergometer, aka Erg machine. For Beginners, emphasis should be focused on the three major muscle movements: Legs, back, arms, then arms, back, legs. If you want to learn how to actually learn, visit any local Junior/College/Masters Club and ask about their Learn to Row program. Additionally, there are many books you can find on Amazon.com or USRowing that can help you learn the stroke.
I was always told that you were suppose to keep your back as straight as possible. Are you suppose to lean back at all when you push out with your knees?

Two exceptions, search for "Josh Crosby", watch his Indo-Row workout vids. The other is Xeno Muller. Both have switched from Concept2 to water rowers.

Do not follow this guys advice. Unless you have rowed, or took erg lessons (the erg is what he is sitting on) do not use a rowing machine.
