@spotdathief Not many! This model is far from perfect; it's just that we're not shooting at high resolution in most of these shots, so the imperfections don't show as readily. :) But if we had one tip: patience.
@Rapidnadion I am a solid titanic fanatic!!! I really appreciate the hardwork you've done to make it perfect especially whe I watched your titanic breakup failures..... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!
Well done mates, maybe next you could challenge urselfs to do and experiment to make the smokstacks fall over and sink like the real ship did. i'm sure it would be a challenge but I know you could do it ;-) again well done :)!
@arlynnjones Yes it was. See the making-of video to learn more about that system. It's very simple, though; just a model rocket engine igniter connected to the rubber band holding the ship halves together.
Y'all ever think of doing an experiment to see if the stern Titanic could've stayed afloat if the ship had been cleanly severed (since the bow always seem to pull the stern down)?
@360Nomad Yes; in fact, a clean break was the plan. It went awry because the rubber band held more readily than we anticipated, even after the pyro charge fired.
@Dialga1241 We have strings tied to each hull section. See our "Raising the Model Titanic" video for footage of us recovering our intact TItanic model.
@il2sturmovikfb The ship is held together by remnants of the rubber band that remained after the pyro charge fired. This was not by design; just a non-disastrous accident.
@HappyMonkey8D Not sure if this is a question or a statement, but go ahead and watch our "[Model Titanic SPLITS] How It's Made" video if you want to see how we made this.
Hi, just wondering are you only able to do this once and do you have some way of fixing it together again and do you have a fishing line on both the stern and the bow
@steamfan1998 Hello! We can sink this model many times over; there's very little permanent damage done to it. For a better idea of how this model is put together, see our "[Model Titanic SPLITS] How It's Made" video - it's on our Channel page, or in Related Videos to your right.
I can see that usually the sealing of the starboard end of the ship creates a better sinking effect but i think it went much faster in this video because the bow section and starboard section were still connected
@RandomNoobable Thanks for the compliment! We're glad you like these! :) We'd love to do a nighttime sinking, but unfortunately we don't have a camera good enough for low-light capture yet. If we get one, we'll definitely do some nighttime sinkings!
next time, make every funnel fall off. (cause when 1st funnel was filled it fell also to the 2nd funnel. 3rd and funnel fell when titanic broke apart)
@rocketjo9231 This model used to have separable funnels, but they were sacrificed so we could actually get the video done. As it is, this model has two safety lines, tethers for fore and aft boat deck sections, and a tether for the fo'c'sle - there were too many strings for us to keep resetting.
@mimo7772512 It may look like the model was destroyed, but we actually recover it after every sinking. The flames were quite showy, but they didn't damage the model. We designed it to survive this. See the "how it's made" video on our Channel page for more.
@TBOGTplayer2000 The kit is easily obtainable, but requires much modification to sink (or even float) properly. These kits are really only meant for display. To get one of the kits, just Google "Academy Minicraft Titanic" and check out the shopping results, or visit your local hobby shop.
@TBOGTplayer2000 We already replied to a similar comment from you on another video - it would indeed be a great idea, but we've got a lot of projects on the list! :)
@TBOGTplayer2000 Sorry to hear it - you can find them on eBay pretty frequently. The smaller Revell 18" model is also commonly stocked at ToysRUs, WalMart, Michaels, etc. Check your local hobby shop as well - we don't sell them, unfortunately.
@ericpierre53 Falling #1 and #4 funnels were part of the original design, but had to be permanently attached when too many complications arose too close to our deadline for this video. We may give that another go in the future.
@ericpierre53 They were incorporated into the original design, but had to be sacrificed as one of many compromises. We may try those again in the future.
