As a former Air Force cargo aircraft maintainer, I have trouble believing that the most advanced plane in the world, maintained by the most experienced, most professional mechanics in the world, with multiple redundancies built in for just about everything would have sa landing gear problem like this in the first place.
"There's a festival of lights and bonfires in this region, that accompanies something called the wildflower . . . y'know, renaissance, with lilac and oaker"
I think CJ did that well. Keep the story from getting out until the facts are known, but let the people who are possible danger know the truth about the fact that there may be a problem with the plane that they are on board.
I'm sorry, but I have to ask. If you were the POTUS, would you not have gone, "Look, for fuck's sake man, saying "pretty soon", and "pretty low" are not correct answers. I'm a big boy and I won't cry, just tell the truth."
Maybe I'm too drunk to reason properly, but it seemed like he was being far more vague than he should've been.
@hansellius The Colonel on AF1 and POTUS have a close relationship, it has been widely reported to the fact that when POTUS leaves office, so does the pilot. All the writers have done is reflect that. As for this, Bartlett had said on many ocasions that he does not care for overly technical military discussions. Give him the answers simply and he will make a call when it needs to be made.
@MrSatireTube Is that chap the pilot then? I haven't seen the whole episode, so I'm probably not in a great position. I was more commenting on the vagueness of the answers, rather than the friendliness. I just feel that "pretty soon" or "pretty low" are poor answers. I mean "Around 1,000 feet" is still vague, but it's alot better than the answer he /did/ give.

I dunno. I'm probably just being picky.

That wasn't a F-16 that was a F-15 Eagle!

@cardiac19 Yes, that always bugged me about this episode, especially since Will is an officer in the Air Force Reserve.
