Childhood friends, distant promises, terminal illnesses, last wishes, medical bill problems, stares into the starlights at night, talk of dreams = To The Moon
That hardest thing i've ever done is not saving a child from a burning building or rushing a pregnant woman to the E.R but trying to hold my tears when playing this game......
I really want to play this music in piano music but there is no sheet for it if anyone is nice enough to provide a piano sheet then I will upload a video of this beautiful music.
nevertheless, this is a beautiful story with depth that greatly exceeds what most people expect from video games. and even though it has little gameplay, It had just enough to get you personally involved in the story to a certain point. I think that was the goal of presenting such a story in such a manner.
The only problem is that it's not a movie. If the product has any emphasis on interactivity then it's a video game, or in other words, interactive entertainment. I hate it when people feel the need to shorten the potential and versatility of the industry because of such a silly word: "games." The day movies become interactive, is the day they become games.
Anyway, great game, while it didn't exactly change my life, it did leave an impression on me.
I enjoyed To the Moon a whole lot. I laughed, i cried, i cringed at the uncomfortable jokes. But when it isn't as much of a game really. The only thing you have to do to progress the story is pretty much clicking (and the ocasional not related to the story puzzle) and at that point you might as well be watching a movie or reading a book.
The story is nothing short of amazing, but the "game" part is pretty much non-existant and it would be hard to use this as an example.
@MrAnicon games have surpassed movies, books in story telling.only those who have played this game(and those who r gamers)know how to value this DIAMOND thats named as...to the moon.(even the title is amazing.its like a portal to a magical world)
ya but despite having a really compelling story "To the moon" in all honesty had some of the shittiest gameplay out there. I still enjoyed the hell out of it, but just saying. I'm also not saying video games can't tell a good story cause there are plenty out there.
@stein11wolf That is pretty disturbing.

@MrAnicon Given that it pretty much IS a movie, I don't think it's exactly a prime example of video game storytelling.

After playing "To the Moon" I will NEVER punch anyone, no matter the nature of a disagreement.
I just feel grateful for having experienced such a beautiful story, exploring the fragile, bittersweet nature of the human condition.
The true value of a life is too great to be reduced to arguments and hate.
There's beauty in love, there's beauty in loss, we're perfect in our imperfection.

You should play metal gear solid series if you liked this game...
MGS is my favourite game for PS1, MGS2 is favourite for PS2...
I think they are beautiful, and Hideo Hojima is genius...
I even cried little bit during all of those games...
They have very deep story and brings back some kind of good memories from my childhood
