This movie is why I HATE Anjelica Houston! She plays it soo well in this its insane. This movie scared me soo bad when I was little. I decided that I might try to watch it again to see why it scared me, so of course I watched the trailer. HAH! Not gonna happen...still scared.

This was a nice movie but, I felt sad that Luke's parents died where he was living with his grandmother forever looking like she is his only family member alive. (It didn't look like Luke had a grandfather). The other sad thing is that, Luke's grandmother is probably an old senior citizen who can die from old age, and once she dies from old age, Luke probably would have to live in an orphanage since he's a young child.

I remember renting this and watching it with my siblings when i was little. luckily my little brother and i were roommates, we were both really scared and our beds weren't too far apart. otherwise i don't think i would have slept that night.

Holy shit this is an awesome trailer! So true to the spirit of Roald Dahl's dark and twisted tale. I loved his stories as a kid because they were mean and sinister, not sappy in any sense of the word.

As much as it'd be nice if they did release a new DVD, I wouldn't get my hopes up especially considering the fact that the existing DVD is not even on the market anymore.

I've tried:

Blockbuster,

Rodjer's video,

Value Village,

3 pawn shops,

2 flee markets.

I can't find it anywhere and had to resort to torrents as my only option. I also have an old VHS tape copy but it doesn't work too well.

That's what I tried (ordering it).

The person at blockbuster said that for sure they could get it for $7.99, so I took a $20 cab from my dorm at school to blockbuster to place the order and pay up front. Then, they have the balls to tell me a week after I order that the product was discontinued, and a month later I still haven't gotten my refund. So now I pay because someone at the store was too lazy to do their homework and find out that it isn't possible to order it anymore.
