  • What needs to be done, is produce cars that people want to buy. Flat out. Look at the Us Autos in the 1950s and 60s, they were one of a kind, distinct, and cool. There needs to be a rvolutionary change, and if it doesn't happen then they will fall. though I think American Trucks are second to none.

  • Well, American workers don't work as hard as the Japanese. Plus, the Japanese cars are better made. Maybe GM and Ford should just go away. The Chinese are improving their infrastructure, if you think jobs are leaving the U.S. fast now, you ain't seen nothin yet. Oh, and why doesn't Michigan pass a few more anti-business laws so that no businesses will want to come there. You people are reaping what you have sown.

  • I retired from the plant these people are standing in front of. I love the union but I despise the people running it. This woman, though she is a nice lady, is one of the 'enlightened' at this plant, as is the biker guy. What that means is they both suck up to union brass and they benefit by doing the sort of jobs that give hard working members a bad name. They don't do very much in respect to work. They are correct about what they say about GM though.

  • search youtube for"UAW Officials in Michigan Threaten Socialist Equality Party" and you'll see the real attitude of the union officials to democracy and the independence of the working class

  • God I hate the UAW. Overpaid, under educated, ignorant, and stupid.

  • what the know?

  • The article on the World Socialist Web Site on the tentative contract describes it as a "total surrender" by the union. Couldn't agree more!.

  • srlou89 you think japanese automaker employees loves there job on an assembaly line everybody is doin the same job feels the same way about it.

  • support and build the SEP who tirelessly and consistently are the only party who plainly and frankly pose the real tasks in front of the working class even when the truth is fearful and difficult to accept. Support the auto workers but do not support the UAW bureaucracy. Build independent workers' committees without the bureaucrats who have become rich and fat off your efforts and sacrifices.

  • I would never buy a car built by angry workers who hate the company they work for. I will only buy Toyota.

  • How do you know Toyota workers don't hate the company they work for too. If they are happy with the company they are obviously well paid.

  • Stay strong union brothers & sisters. You're doing the right thing. We'll not be buying any GM vehicles until your contract is settled.

  • GM shouldn't try to break a 30-year old promise before they pack up and move to India. They not only want to screw present-day workers, but retirees too.

  • And don't tell me for one second that if you're making millions of dollars you're going to pay your employees the same. That's ridiculous. Forget about what the CEO makes and whether or not no person on Earth should make that kind of money. YOU could have been the CEO if you were smart enough - but you're not - so you don't. It's as simple as that.

  • How's he going to make millions with noone to work for him? Profits can only be increased by squeezing every last entitlement from the working class.

  • Tough noogies! You make what you're worth! What the owners and CEOs make is none of your business. When I was dumb enough to work for somebody else, I had no right to the owner's money. If you want to make BIG money, find a job that pays big money or start your own business.

  • why is it none of our business? It's supposed to be a free country and we have a right to know under the freedom of information acts. Besides everyone knows how much the minimum wage is. To your first point i'm sure the workers will decide what they are worth themselves.

  • power to the people, hippies unite, peace in vietnam. john lennon for president. flower power and hillary in the white house. lol

  • Go watch Fox and stay ignorant.

  • This just confirms what so many do not realize- the workers know what's going on. Do not underestimate the intelligence of the working class!

  • Go UAW! The workers hold all of the power. We are all behind you. Keep up the great work and thanks for having the courage to stand up to the b.s.

  • The UAW is part of the b.s.

The workers must make a complete break with the union leadership if they are to succeed in their struggle.

  • Break with the Democrats and the two-party system!

Construct the socialist party that puts the jobs and living standards of workers around the world before the profits and personal fortunes of the financial elites.

  • "There is not a man in this world that is worth that kind of money. It's plain old robbery" That lady hit the nail on the head. As Van Auken said in your other youtube upload it is not healthcare, pensions and a decent wage that we can't afford, but the rich who subordinate every burning social question to how they maintain their right to exploit with no regard to the misery they cause worldwide.

  • Power to the workers! The union bureaucrats act as class collaboraters with the bourgeoisie. The American working class needs to develop a stridently socialist outlook and divorce itself from elements who, like the union bureaucrats and the Democratic Party, seek to keep workers contained within the bounds of the capitalist system.

  • socialist workers unite. lol
